Chapter 129: Chapter 129

Ellie

Three weeks later...

A reflection stared back at me in the full-length mirror, my hands trembling as I adjusted the delicate lace of my wedding gown. Nervousness and excitement coursed through my veins like wildfire.

This was the day I’d been dreaming of, and now that it was here, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of panic.

"Nervous?" Ivy asked.

I nodded.

"Don’t be. You look amazing. Giovanni might pass out when he sees you," she said seriously.

I giggled.

The door creaked open, and Aidan stepped into the room. His presence instantly calmed my nerves. He offered a reassuring smile, his eyes filled with understanding. "Wow, Ellie. You look stunning."

"Thank you," I whispered, trying to steady my shaking hands.

"Are you ready?" he asked, extending his arm for me to take.

I took a deep breath, gripping his arm tightly as if it were a lifeline. "As ready as I’ll ever be."

"Good," he said, his voice firm yet gentle.

"Giovanni better know how lucky he is," he muttered, giving my arm a gentle squeeze. "Now, let’s get you married."

With one last glance in the mirror, I allowed Aidan to lead me out of the room and toward my future with Giovanni.

As we walked, I focused on the sound of our footsteps echoing through the quiet halls, reminding myself that today was a new beginning – a chance to leave behind past betrayals and seek revenge on the life that tried to hold us back.

"Ready?" Aidan whispered as we reached the entrance to the garden where the ceremony would take place.

"Ready," I confirmed, my grip on his arm tightening, determination settling in my chest.

The garden was beautiful, and the scent of blooming roses filled my lungs as I stepped into it.

White chairs were neatly arranged, facing an elegant arch adorned with fresh flowers, where Giovanni stood, looking devastatingly handsome in his tailored suit.

He turned as he heard our approach, his eyes locking onto mine with a mix of awe and adoration. Aidan gently guided me towards him, and with each step closer, my heart swelled with a profound sense of happiness and anticipation.

Giovanni’s expression softened into a tender smile as we finally stood face to face. His hand reached out, trembling slightly, to cup my cheek. "You’re...absolutely breathtaking," he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.

"Thank you," I managed to whisper, feeling a rush of warmth at his touch. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

The ceremony began. There weren’t a lot of people here. Just Ivy, Aidan, Nonna, and the kids. A few of Giovanni’s men stood in the background, keeping guard.

I couldn’t stop the tears from falling when the officiant pronounced us husband and wife, and Giovanni gently slid a ring onto my finger.

"Don’t cry, mio amore," he leaned down and whispered in my ear.

"I can’t help it," I whispered back, trying to contain my overflowing emotions.

Giovanni’s gaze softened even more, his eyes full of love and tenderness. "I’ll spend a lifetime making you happy, I promise," he vowed, his voice unwavering.

His words made me cry even harder.

I couldn’t believe this was real - that I was standing here, married to Giovanni. The man who had captured my heart against all odds.

Giovanni pulled me towards him and kissed me, making me stop crying in an instant. I heard Ivy cheering in the background, and I smiled against his lips.

I felt a small tug at my skirt. It was Lucas, staring up with wide eyes, his expression a mix of wonder and innocence. As Giovanni and I broke apart from our kiss, I crouched down to meet his gaze.

"Hey, buddy," I said softly, brushing a lock of hair out of his eyes. "Did you like the wedding?"

Lucas nodded vigorously, his face breaking into a gap-toothed grin. "It was like in the movies!" he exclaimed, bouncing on his heels with excitement.

I couldn’t help but giggle at his enthusiasm.

"Well, it’s even better in real life," Giovanni said, giving him a playful wink.

"Um...Uncle Gio, does this mean you are my new daddy now?" he asked.

The question took me aback, although Giovanni looked unphased. "Um...Lucas...he is not..." I started to protest but stopped as I didn’t know what to say.

Giovanni leaned down and picked him up in his arms. "Would you like it if I was your daddy?" he asked Lucas.

Lucas’ eyes lit up with hope and excitement, his small arms wrapping around Giovanni’s neck in a tight hug. "Yes, please!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with longing.

Giovanni’s expression softened even more, his gaze meeting mine as if seeking permission. I nodded gradually, my heart felt like it would burst out of my chest.

"Well then, buddy, from now on, consider me your dad," Giovanni declared, his voice deep and intense.

Lucas beamed, his face lighting up with joy. "Daddy!" he shouted happily, hugging Giovanni even more tightly.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I watched the scene unfold in front of me. Giovanni looked at me and smiled.

Was it really okay to be this happy?

"Alright, Lucas. Come to Auntie Ivy so your mom can dance with your new daddy," Ivy said, her eyes sparkling with joy.

Lucas hesitated, looking between Giovanni and me, then reluctantly let go and went to Ivy. She scooped him up, giving him a big kiss on the cheek that made him giggle.

Giovanni turned to me, holding out his hand. "May I have this dance, Signora Leones?"

"Of course," I replied, placing my hand in his. As he led me to the center of the garden, the music started playing—a soft, romantic melody that wrapped around us like a warm embrace.

We moved together, swaying gently in each other’s arms. Giovanni’s eyes never left mine, and I felt like the luckiest woman in the world.

"I can’t believe this is real," I whispered, resting my head against his chest.

"It’s real, Ellie," he murmured, his voice a soothing balm to my heart. "And it’s just the beginning."

I rested my head on his broad chest and closed my eyes.

"I hope it was okay for me to tell Lucas to call me his dad," he said quietly.

I lifted my head to look at him, my eyes meeting his earnest gaze. "It’s more than okay, Giovanni," I reassured him. "It’s perfect. He needs someone like you in his life. All three of us do."

He smiled, relief washing over his features. "Thank you, Ellie. I promise to be the best husband and father I can be."

"I know you will," I replied, feeling a surge of love for the man holding me so tenderly.

"Now, with that out of the way," he said and leaned down to whisper in my ear. "I have something more important to discuss with you."

My heart raced with anticipation as I gazed at him with eager curiosity. "And what might those be?" I asked

A sly grin formed on his lips as he whispered, "I want you...to prepare yourself for all the things I will do to you tonight." His voice dripped with seduction, and I could feel myself becoming weak in the knees.

"Wha...what will you do to me?" I said in a hoarse whisper.

I could feel my cheeks heating up at his words. Giovanni’s grin widened, his eyes darkening with desire as he leaned in even closer.

"You will have to wait and find out, Ellie," he murmured huskily, sending shivers down my spine. His fingers traced a feather-light path from my cheek to my neck, igniting a trail of fire in their wake.

I gulped, feeling a delicious combination of nervousness and anticipation pooling in my stomach. The world around us faded away, leaving only Giovanni and me in our own bubble of desire.

His lips brushed against mine in a tantalizing promise, his breath warm against my skin. "Tonight is way past our deadline, I hope you haven’t forgotten."

It was past six weeks. The time I told him to give me before I healed from giving birth. The realization brought a jolt of pleasure through my body. "Yes," I simply whispered.

Giovanni’s eyes gleamed with a mixture of tenderness and hunger as he held me close. "I’ve waited so long for this moment, Ellie," he confessed, his voice low and filled with longing.

I felt a rush of desire mingled with nervousness at the thought of finally being with him in that way.

"I’m going to make you mine tonight, Ellie," he murmured huskily, his voice sending shivers down my spine. "In ways you’ve never experienced before."

"Oh," I breathed, my heart racing at the intensity of his gaze. Giovanni’s expression was one of unwavering desire, his eyes drilling into mine with a hunger that sent a wave of heat through me. His hand reached out to caress my cheek, the touch sending electric currents down my spine.

Goodness me...he looked like he wanted to rip my dress off right in front of everyone!
