My Childhood Bully is a Mafia Boss-Chapter 52
Ivy
Trapped in darkness, my heart pounded with fear as I struggled against my captors. Every instinct screamed for me to fight, to break free from the hands that held me captive. But despite my efforts, I soon realized that resistance was futile.
The voices of my assailants echoed around me, their words cold and menacing as they restrained me with a firm grip.
They shoved me inside somewhere, and I heard a car door slam shut.
"Don’t make this difficult, Love. We don’t want to hurt you before the boss has the chance to meet you," crooned a gruff voice.
My breath caught in my throat as the gravity of the situation sank in.
"I won’t go down without a fight," I vowed silently, though I knew the odds were stacked against me.
As the car lurched into motion, I braced myself, my mind spinning.
Was it Aidan’s doing? His men kidnapped me once, so why not again?
No, Aidan wouldn’t do this now. He would’ve come and grabbed me himself and not sent his goons after me.
Besides, the man said his boss wanted to meet me, which meant this was some other man. Maybe one of Aidan’s enemies.
The car ride was long and nerve-wracking. I could feel the tension in the air, my heart racing with each passing mile. I couldn’t see anything but darkness because of the stupid bag over my head.
My mind was spinning with questions. Who was this boss that wanted to meet me? Why did they kidnap me? And most importantly, how was I going to get out of this?
I couldn’t help but think back to my encounter with Aidan’s men. They were ruthless and violent, but at least it was Aidan who was their boss. This situation felt different, more calculated and sinister.
As the car came to a stop, my captors pulled me out roughly and led me inside a building. The interior was dimly lit, with heavy curtains covering the windows. The scent of cigars and expensive cologne filled the air.
"Wait here," one of the men barked as they shoved me into a room, took the bag off, and closed the door behind them.
I took in my surroundings. It appeared to be some sort of office or study, with dark wood furniture and leather chairs scattered around the room. A large desk sat at one end, cluttered with papers and documents.
My heart sank as I realized there was no way out of this room without being noticed by whoever was waiting for me outside.
Abruptly, the door swung open with a loud bang, revealing a towering figure draped in an expensive suit. "Ah, there she is. The infamous Ivy Williams," he drawled in a thick Russian accent.
I took a good look at him. The man was tall and muscular with pitch-black hair like Aidan’s but with sprinkles of gray hair.
Moving closer, he finally removed his shades, and I found myself staring into piercing grey eyes that seemed to bore into my soul. "Slava Morozov," he introduced himself coolly, reaching out a hand for me to shake. It was then that I noticed how well-manicured his nails were.
He began to circle me, his eyes scanning my every feature. It felt as if I were a piece of meat being inspected at an auction. His gaze lingered on my bruised cheek and scraped knee, and I fought the urge to squirm under his intense scrutiny.
"So," he finally spoke, his voice smooth but laced with a chilling menace, "You are Aidan’s Blackwood’s new whore."
I flinched at his crude words. "I am a respectable businesswoman, asshole! You are nothing but a scum under my shoe."
He took another drag from his cigar and exhaled smoke rings towards the high ceiling, watching them dissipate lazily before turning back to me. "You have spirit," he said with a small smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
"Why did you abduct me?" I hissed.
"Blackwood thought he could come into my club and beat up my men. And then try to steal my woman? Well, he tried alright and failed. But I won’t let him get away with it," Slava snarled.
"He was trying to save Ellie. She is his sister!" I cried.
Slava’s expression remained stoic, unmoved by my plea. "I don’t care about his family drama. He crossed me, and now I will make him pay. Besides, Ellie belongs to me now. She doesn’t want to go back with him."
"I don’t really believe it. You must be keeping her against her will. She must be scared," I argued.
I remembered Ellie. Sweet, shy Ellie. There was no way she would willingly stay with a man like Slava!
Slava’s eyebrow quirks up. "Oh no? Why don’t you ask her yourself?" he said and turned to one of his men. "Go get Ellie."
A few moments later, the door opened again, and a young woman was pushed into the room by one of Slava’s henchmen. It was Ellie, Aidan’s sister.
Her eyes widened in surprise and fear as she took in the scene before her. "What’s going on?" she asked, her voice trembling.
"Ellie!" I cried. "It’s me, Ivy."
Ellie’s gaze flickered nervously between me and Slava, clearly unsure of what to say. "Ivy, what? From high school?"
"Yes, Ellie, it’s me," I confirmed, relieved to see a flicker of recognition in her eyes.
Slava leaned against the desk, observing our exchange with a predatory smirk. "Ivy here seems to think you’re being held against your will, Ellie. Is that true?"
Ellie hesitated, her gaze darting between me and Slava. "No..." Her voice trailed off.
"Ellie, Aidan said you refused to come back with him. Why?" I asked.
Ellie’s eyes flashed at the mention of Aidan’s name. "I am with Slava now."
"But why?" I demanded to know more.
Ellie’s voice wavered as she spoke, her fear palpable in the tense atmosphere of the room. "Ivy, you don’t understand. Aidan...he’s not who you think he is. He’s darker, more violent than you could possibly know."
I felt a chill run down my spine at Ellie’s words. Was it possible that Aidan had been hiding a darker side from me all along? My mind raced with conflicting emotions, torn between disbelief and a gnawing sense of dread.
"But you are his sister, Ellie. How can you abandon him?" I pressed, desperate for answers. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Tears welled up in Ellie’s eyes as she struggled to find the right words. "He...he abandoned me first. Slava...he promised me safety, protection. I believed him."
A sickening feeling churned in the pit of my stomach as I listened to Ellie’s revelation.
"Aidan didn’t protect me like he promised. And now he wants to make things right?" Ellie laughed bitterly. "I can make my own choices now."
"Even if it hurts him?" I whispered.
"Yes, even then. It’s time to end this," Ellie declared.
Slava’s eyes gleamed with malicious intent as he nodded in agreement. "Indeed. And Ivy will be the key to drawing him out."
My heart sank as I realized the role I was being forced to play in Slava’s dangerous game. I knew that Aidan would stop at nothing to find me, to rescue me.
"I won’t let you use me as bait," I declared, my voice trembling but resolute.
Slava laughed. "You can’t stop me."
I couldn’t fathom the idea of Aidan being killed. And Ellie...how could she want her own brother dead?
"I can’t believe this," I whispered. "But even if Aidan is a bad man, you can’t let Slava kill him."
Ellie had tears in her eyes, but they were cold. "Let him go, Ivy. You are a nice girl. You always were so sweet. You don’t belong with a man like Aidan. He will destroy you to a point there’s no going back."
"I don’t believe that Ellie. And I know you don’t believe that. Whatever this man Slava did to you, however he brainwashed you, you need to snap out of it," I said with a tight jaw.
"You don’t know anything, Ivy. You are just a spoiled rich girl who thinks Aidan is just misdirected," Ellie snapped.
"Aidan loves you, Ellie. He was crushed when he saw you with Slava," I argued.
"I don’t want to hear this," Ellie said and stormed out of the room.
"Well, there’s your answer. Little Ellie has made her choice. I will leave you now, but I will send Blackwood a message so he can come rushing here like a knight in shining armor." Slava let out a mirthless laughter and left the room with his men.
The thought of Aidan rushing to my rescue, only to meet his demise at the hands of Slava, filled me with a profound sense of dread. I couldn’t bear to think he could get hurt, let alone get killed.
I had to do something. I couldn’t wait for Aidan to arrive and risk his life for my sake. I had to escape, to find a way out of this dangerous game before it was too late.
With a newfound sense of urgency, I scanned the room, searching for any possible means of escape.
"I have to get out of here," I muttered to myself, my heart racing with adrenaline.
