My Dragon King System-Chapter 331: Andrea & Tristan
Even Rin was nervous as well. "I hope they come out fine" she said
Aiden turned towards her. "They will"
Minutes felt like hours. Then suddenly, through the tense silence, came a sound that made Aiden’s heart stop.
A baby’s cry. High-pitched, indignant, full of life.
Followed seconds later by another. Different in tone but equally strong.
Aiden’s head quickly turned toward the door. Before Rin or Aeris could say anything, he was already moving to push the door open.
And the scene that greeted him would be burned into his memory forever.
Laela sat upright in her bed, exhausted but glowing with joy. In her arms was a tiny infact wrapped in a warm blanket. The baby had stopped crying and was now making small, curious sounds.
Arianna lay in her bed as well, cradling her own child wrapped in a blanket as well. She looked equally tired and equally radiant.
Gaia stood between the beds, her hands still glowing with healing magic as she monitored both mothers and children.
When Aiden entered, she turned toward him with a warm smile.
"Congratulations, King of Dragons," she said. "Two healthy children."
Aiden stood frozen in the doorway, too overwhelmed to move or speak as his eyes burned with tears he didn’t try to hide.
Both Laela and Arianna looked at him and smiled. Without words, they each shifted their babies slightly, offering them toward him.
Aiden crossed the room. Laela carefully placed her child in his left arm. Arianna did the same with the right. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
He stood there, cradling both infants against his chest, and the magnitude of the moment crashed over him, over and over again.
He was holding his children. His son and daughter.
The boy in his left arm had inherited Laela’s striking green eyes and matching green hair, though it was currently just fine baby fuzz.
Tiny dragon fangs were already visible when he yawned, and he possessed delicate pointed ears.
Which also meant, he was part elf.
The girl in his right arm had Aiden’s red eyes. Her hair was black, and when she opened her mouth to make a small sound, identical tiny fangs could be seen.
Both children were perfect. Absolutely, impossibly perfect.
Rin and Aeris had entered behind him and now crowded close, trying to get a better look at the babies.
Both women cooed and made excited sounds.
"Oh my gods, look at his little ears!" Rin squealed, gently touching the baby boy’s pointed tips.
"And she’s got your eyes," Aeris said to Aiden, carefully stroking the baby girl’s cheek. "She’s going to be stunning when she grows up."
Gaia quietly excused herself from the room, giving the family their moment. She stepped into the hallway and closed the door behind her.
Then she made her way through the corridors and toward the square where the assembled rulers and citizens waited.
"The Dragon God’s children have been born!" she announced. "A son and a daughter, both healthy and strong!"
The crowd erupted into cheers. Gods and Humans alike embraced themselves.
——
The celebrations had continued from midday all the way to nightfall, showing no signs of diminishing enthusiasm.
If anything, the festivities had grown more animated as the hours passed and wine flowed freely.
Countless magical lights illuminated the city like stars. The massive crowd had reorganized itself into smaller groupings, with people naturally gravitating toward those they knew best.
Long tables had been arranged throughout the square, each one was decorated with fine cloth and laden with food from across the world.
One prominent table near the center hosted the rulers of the Valaross continent.
The Valaross continent was no longer governed by a single ruler as full autonomy had been granted to each kingdom, allowing them to govern as they saw fit while maintaining alliances for mutual benefit.
The transformation had been without challenges. Well, only because it was Aiden insisting it stayed that way.
And it seemed to have been a good idea. Right now, the rulers of Valaross even talked and laughed together like old friends.
Other tables hosted rulers from the remaining seven continents, with some group speaking in their native tongues.
Then, there was also the Ravens Grave table.
Even though its members had scattered to different corners of life over the past three years, they’d never stopped considering themselves part of the guild.
They had spent most of the day catching up and filling each other in on three years of separate experiences.
"I’m telling you, I’ve missed Bernard’s cooking more than anything," Piers declared, gesturing with his half-empty wine glass. "You cannot believe the sort of things they cook in Zahka.
Everything has fish in it. Everything! Even the desserts somehow taste like fish!"
The table erupted in laughter.
"Guys it’s not really bad when you try it" Katherine said, trying to defend her people.
"Be honest baby, I know you miss Bernard’s cooking too" Piers teased
Katherine squeezed her face playfully, then sighed, and nodded in defeat
And everyone laughed even more.
Then she turned towards Bernard.
"Which is why Bernie will be coming with us" Katherine said with a devious grin on her face.
Bernard seeing that grin quickly remembered one of his traumatic experiences at the hands of the Captain.
Especially what followed when anyone refused her.
"Please Captain..." he said, as though he was about to go in tears
The laughing and joking continued for another moment, with everyone sitting around.
Then finally, Aiden emerged, walking along a pathway that led directly toward the celebration.
With his children cradled right up in his arms.
They were reason why no one had left Eden yet as they wanted to see both the Dragon god and his kids.
To his left was Laela, and to his right Arianna. Both women wore elegant dresses that flowed as they moved.
Their figures showed absolutely no sign of the pregnancy they carried for a months. The slight roundness of their bellies had vanished, replaced by their normal forms.
This was Aiden’s doing, of course. With his authority over creation, he granted them a sort of healing that restored their bodies to normal.
The crowd went silent almost immediately as hundreds of eyes turned toward the Dragon God and his family.
At the table where Adam and the Archons sat, every single god rose to their feet in unison.
The human kings and queens stood as well and within moments, every single person in that square stood at attention.
Not from fear, but from genuine respect and acknowledgment of this moment.
Aiden paused, clearly not having expected such a reaction. His eyes widened slightly as he took in the sea of standing figures.
Then, he carefully transferred both babies to their mothers.
He raised both hands in a gentle plea. "Please, everyone, sit. You honor me far more than I deserve."
The crowd chose to remain standing, waiting for him to continue.
Aiden took a breath, then spoke.
"Thank you all for coming here today. Your presence means more to me and my family than I can properly express."
He paused, then a slight smile crossed his face. "The gifts you’ve brought are... uhm... I’m honestly not sure where we’re going to fit them all."
Scattered laughter rippled through the crowd.
"But truly," Aiden continued, his tone growing more serious, "you’ve traveled from every corner of this world to be here. You’ve set aside your duties and responsibilities to celebrate with us. That is a gift beyond any material offering."
He gestured broadly toward the tables with food and drink. "So please, enjoy yourselves tonight. Eat, drink, celebrate. This is a night for joy."
From the section where the gods sat, Orion suddenly stood and raised his cup high, and the Archon’s voice boomed across the square with enthusiasm.
"To the King of Dragons!"
The response was instantaneous and thunderous. Thousands of voices joined together in perfect unison:
"TO THE KING OF DRAGONS!"
The sound rolled out into the night sky like thunder.
It was then that they all began to sit.
Aiden smiled, genuinely touched. His eyes scanned the crowd and in second they landed on one table in particular.
The Ravens Grave table.
And they all moved towards that direction.
The moment Elena and Innis spotted them approaching, they both practically leaped from their seats and rushed forward, converging on Laela and Arianna with excited squeals.
"Oh gods, let me see!" Elena reached Arianna first, peering down at the baby girl with wide eyes. "She’s perfect."
"And his ears!" Innis cooed, gently touching the baby boy’s pointed tips while Laela beamed with pride.
Katherine approached Aiden directly and extended her hand. He clasped it in the traditional warrior’s grip, forearm to forearm.
"You’re a Dragon, you’re a god, but today you became a man." Katherine said with a smile on her face. She reached up with her free hand and tapped him firmly on the shoulder.
Then she released him and moved toward the women, joining Elena and Innis in their admiration of the babies.
Piers was next, offering his own handshake and a genuine grin. "Congratulations, mate. They’re beautiful."
"Thanks, Piers." Aiden returned the grip warmly.
Kayden stepped forward as well. There was this slight awkwardness in his approach. But his words were sincere. "Congratulations, Aiden. This is... this is really something special."
One by one, the others offered their well-wishes too.
Finally, Bernard asked the question everyone had been wondering. "So what are their names? You’ve got to have picked something by now."
Aiden glanced back at Laela and Arianna. They smiled and nodded in unison. The decision had been made weeks ago, though they’d kept it private until this moment.
Aiden turned back to the table, then said.
"Andrea and Tristan"
