My Evil Crown Prince-Chapter 112: Young Heart
"W–Wait! I’m sorry. I’m having a hard time to process it." Her eyes staring at him, wide open.
Lucas couldn’t believe that for a smart girl like Brie, she was too slow to get what he told her.
"What’s hard to process about that?" He asked, annoyed.
"Do you like me?" She answered him with a question.
And when he blushed, her heart couldn’t take it. She gasped for air because she felt like she couldn’t breathe.
"Lucas, can you please give me a straight answer? I–I don’t want to assume and hope."
Lucas clicked her tongue. "No! Because I’m in love with you. I don’t want to tell you because you’re too young. I decided to wait until you’re eighteen, but I’m scared that you might find someone else. So I’m telling you now. If you dare to look at another man, you’re really dead!"
Her chest felt like it would suddenly explode. She couldn’t hide her happiness and quickly jumped into his arms.
"I love you, Lucas! I really love you. For ten years, I thought you’re sick of me. Everyday I was scared that you might introduce someone as your girlfriend. I know I’m not worthy of your love, but I promise I will take care of your heart." She sobbed.
She cried a lot for Lucas, but it was the first time she cried of happiness. She had loved him for ten years. And even though she felt like there was no hope that he would return her feelings, still she chose to love him.
"Hey, don’t say that. You’re worth it and you deserve someone better than me, but I won’t let that happen. Aubrey Tiffany Cross, I love you and to answer your question earlier, yes, I am always and forever yours."
Brie was too happy and got carried away. She grabbed Lucas’ face and kissed him on the lips, making him unable to move.
He tried to control himself and calm down so he gently pushed her away, holding her shoulders.
"Stop! Brie, we can’t just do things like kissing or hugging."
"Why not? I love you and you said you love me. So what’s the problem?"
He took a deep breath and massaged his temple.
"You’re still a minor and I can’t take advantage of you. Do you want me to go to jail? As much as I want you, I also respect you and your parents. So we have to wait, okay?"
She pouted. But she totally understand what he said, and she’s proud of him.
"But can I still sleep here?" She asked.
He nodded. "It’s fine. I won’t do anything to you. But you have to behave yourself."
She smiled. "Yes! Cross my heart."
He chuckled. "Let’s go to sleep. I’m tired."
They suddenly felt a little awkward when they layed on the bed. Brie comfortably slept on his bed before because she thought he didn’t like her. But now that she knew his true feelings toward her, her heart couldn’t stop pounding.
"Hey. What’s on your mind?"
She was startled when Lucas turned to her side and was staring straight at her.
"I’m nervous. It’s the first time I’m with you that I know about your feelings."
"You can always sleep in your room." He said.
She rolled her eyes. "No. I want this moment of us. You looked at me with those eyes for a long time. I never knew what it meant."
"You waited for years. I’m sorry."
She smiled. "No. It’s worth it. Can I tell them about us? Can I tell everyone?"
"Brie, I don’t know. The reason I don’t want to tell you is because of your age. I’m not sure if telling everyone about us is a good idea. Besides, we know what we feel for each other. Let’s wait until you’re eighteen."
She wanted to disagree with him, but Lucas had a point. And she didn’t want to ruin her relationship with him because of other people.
"Okay. But how about your sister?"
"She knew my feelings for you. And Caden, too. Well, I think all of them knew about it. You’re the only one who didn’t notice." He chuckled.
"Really?" She giggled. "I’m so happy, Lucas. I don’t know if I can sleep or if I want to. What if this is just a dream?"
He flicked her forehead with his finger.
"Aww!"
"Is it a dream?"
She shook her head. And once again, out of excitement, she wrapped her arm to his waist and burried her face to his chest.
"But at least I can do this, right?"
"Brie, I told you–" He frowned and glanced at her. "I thought she wouldn’t be able to sleep but that was fast." He laughed.
He let her sleep after kissing her at the top of her head and embracing her back. He wanted to do it for a long time, but her age was always stopping her.
She had a young heart and her, telling him that she was in love with him felt like too soon. He didn’t want to accept her feelings because he was scared that she might one day realized that it wasn’t true love.
He was still feeling that way, but she might get taken by another man if he won’t do anything.
"I promise I will take care of you. I won’t let anyone hurt you. I love you, Brie." He whispered.
Morning came and Brie still couldn’t believe that she was lying next to Lucas on his bed. He would always let her sleep there, then he would stay in the couch. But now, it was different.
Her head was on his arm, her face burried on his chest and he was hugging her tight. Their bodies pressed to each other.
She could smell the masculine scent of his perfume, and she could feel his warm breath brushing through her hair.
When she tried to move, he slightly open his eyes and smiled at her when she tilted her head to face him.
"Good morning." He whispered.
She blushed. "Good morning."
They were staring at each other, savoring the early morning moment they had when they were interrupted by someone.
"What the hell is happening here?" It was Nina, Brie’s mother.
Lucas quickly got out of bed and fixed himself to greet Nina.
"Aunt Nina, I can explain. I didn’t do anything to Brie, I promise."
Nina didn’t say a word and glanced at her daughter who had a plastered smile on her face. She wanted to scold her because it was pretty obvious that Brie finally got what she wanted.
"Go to the living room. Let’s talk." Nina said before leaving his bedroom.
They changed quickly and hurried to the living room. The two were surprised to see everyone and their parents. Lucas gulped when he saw his parents which Brie immediately noticed so she grabbed his hand to hold it.
There was a frown on Luke Wilson’s face when he saw his son holding hands with Nina’s daughter.
"So, are you dating?" It was Peggy, who asked.
The two couldn’t answer the question because they didn’t actually talked about dating.
"Let’s change the question. Do you love each other?" Nina asked this time.
They nodded.
After a few moment of silence, Luke Wilson cleared his throat.
"Lucas, you know very well that Brie is still a minor. She’s just fourteen and sleeping in the same room is not a good idea."
"I know, Dad. We talked last night about us and we’re just carried away. It’s my fault, I’ll be careful next time." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Luke took a sigh. "You have something to say to Brie’s parents, right?"
Lucas didn’t get what his father meant at first. But then he realized what he had to do. He pulled Brie in front of her parents and bowed.
"Uncle Andrew, Aunt Nina, I’m sorry for what happened. My intention toward your daughter is pure. I love her and I respect her. I promise I will take care of her and I will wait until we get married."
Brie’s eyes widened. "Hey, you said you’ll wait until I’m eighteen. Why do you have to promise until marriage."
"We talked about this last night. No kissing and touching for now." Lucas said, annoyed.
Everyone burst out laughing. This two never agreed with anything.
"Lucas, I need to know if you have a plan to marry her." Andrew asked.
He nodded. "Yes. I will not marry any other girl, but her."
Andrew glanced at Luke. "You offered me an engagement between our children ten years ago. I guess this is it."
