My Evil Crown Prince-Chapter 92: Waiting
She couldn’t believe her parents allowed her to live with Caden alone. Although it was just two to three times a week, she was still surprised that they gave her permission to stay in Caden’s flat for a few days.
After talking to her parents, also she called Lucas to inform him about it. Even her twin brother’s reaction confused her. She was expecting to get scolded and that he would be against it.
"Just don’t forget to come home in Queen’s for the rest of the week or I’ll drag you out of his unit." He said.
It was her second day in Caden’s hotel suite and all of her clothes were brand new, delivered by Azalea. She was busy placing her things in their bedroom when Caden stepped inside.
"I will return to Willow Green. Are you sure you will stay here and wait for me?" He asked.
Her heart pounded. She knew exactly why he would go to Willow Green. Caden’s men found out about the bottled water she drank the other day. It was tested and was confirmed that an aphrodisiac was added to it. The one who put the bottled water in the vending machine was a student of Golden Oak. Michael Cerro, Benjamin Miller’s secretary, sponsored him.
"I-I’ll wait here." She said.
Caden nodded and went inside the walk-in closet. She followed and was surprised to see him holstering two guns around his body. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
She didn’t say a word, but she stepped closer to him and helped him prepare. Caden stared at her as she buttoned his shirt.
"I’ll cook dinner, so you have to come home tonight. I’ll wait for you." She said and smiled at him.
He nodded and then pulled her into a tight embrace. She heard him sigh and felt his lips on top of her head.
She tilted her head up while wrapping her arms around his waist. He leaned closer to give her a passionate kiss.
"I will be here by eight. I love you." He whispered.
She nodded and stared at his back as he walked away. She sighed and wondered about the things she had to do while waiting for Caden.
Her eyes strolled through the bedroom where all her clothes were still in the paper bags. Caden also bought her shoes and bags. She told him not to, but he insisted.
He asked her if she wanted to hire a maid or if she could just call the reception if she needed help. But she wanted to take care of everything and decided not to get one.
"You can do this, Alira!" She said in a firm tone.
She went back to what she was doing before Caden arrived. Then she took all the paper bags inside the closet.
The walk-in closet was huge, so she grouped her clothes by color. She also separated Caden’s clothes from hers to make it easier for them to look for something.
After her clothes, she focused on her shoes and bags. She swept her eyes over the closet and smiled in satisfaction after tidying it up.
She cleaned the bedroom from the walls to the floors. Changing the bed covers was a bit tiring because of their weight, but she had fun doing it.
She moved to the living room to clean the entire area. And also decided to wash some of their clothes while cleaning. She smiled, looking at the things she did.
It was her first time doing the house chores. She never experienced doing them because of the servants. But she did well, and it was satisfying.
After all the exhausting things she did, her stomach rumbled. It was already past noon, so she decided to just order food from the hotel’s restaurant.
"Miss Wilson, you forgot your lunch." The serving attendant said.
She chuckled. "I was busy with cleaning."
Lunch was not satisfying without Caden. She thought inwardly. Realizing she was alone, a sudden feeling of loneliness consumed her. She looked around the place and felt like something was piercing her heart.
Her eyes were prickling with tears, and tried her best to stop it from falling. She wasn’t sad because she was against with Caden’s work. But she missed him already. She had to make herself busy so she wouldn’t feel the longing in her heart.
She took her phone and called Brie. She needed to talk to someone, and the first person she thought was her brother. But if she would tell Lucas, he would come and pick her up right away. So she chose Brie instead of him.
"What is it?" Brie asked.
"I’m alone." She said.
"Where is Caden?"
"In Willow Green. They caught the student who put the water bottle and brought him there." She answered.
"You want me to come over?"
She shook her head even though Brie couldn’t see her. "I just want someone to talk. Are you with my brother? Can you keep this a secret? He’ll get worried."
"Don’t worry. I’m at home. Mom asked me to stay here for a few days." Brie said.
"Oh, they arrived."
"Yeah. But they will be flying back to Paris next week. So I’m staying here for a while."
She talked to Brie for more than an hour about Caden, about Lucas and about Flousia. They didn’t talk about the mafia. They focused on the good things and forgot about the bad ones.
She asked about the things Brie liked aside from Lucas, of course. She wasn’t surprised that Brie knew a lot of things about her. But she was amazed that she knew even the simple things about her.
It was around five when she hung up the phone. She had to prepare dinner for Caden. She was certain he’s exhausted and starving so she decided to make a Bistecca Fiorentina - a juicy grilled rib-eye steak prepared Florentine-style with lemon and herbs.
She arranged the table with some fresh flowers she ordered earlier after preparing their meal. She was done with their dinner at exactly seven. Then she took a quick shower and dressed up.
With the excitement of Caden’s arrival and with great anticipation of greeting him welcome home, she waited. She sat on the sofa with a smile on her face while staring at the clock on the wall.
However, an hour passed. There was no sign of Caden. She glanced at her phone a few times, but no message from him. An hour of waiting became three hours. It was already ten in the evening when she suddenly felt the exhaustion.
She was worried and didn’t want to sleep, but her body couldn’t take it. She was too tired of all the chores she did earlier and was too drained from thinking about Caden. Her vision became blurry and everything went dark when her eyes voluntarily shut.
Caden tried to get home by seven. But the guy they caught was tough. He tortured and beat him for more than six hours. He didn’t give him food or even water, but the guy wouldn’t even flinch.
Gregory Allen didn’t give any information to them except from admitting that he was one of Michael Cerro’s men. Caden knew someone who had no one to return to was not easy to break.
In the end, the guy didn’t talk, so Caden pointed a gun at him and pulled the trigger. Blood spilled into his clothes, but he didn’t care. He quickly drove his car and went home.
He saw Alira on the sofa, sleeping quietly. He looked around his suite and was impressed to see it so clean and tidy. But what caught his interest the most was the meal she prepared for him. The table was set for the two of them and there were fresh flowers at the center of the table.
He leaned toward her and gently kissed her on the cheek. She slowly opened her eyes and when she saw him in front of her, Caden was startled when she jumped into him. With her arms around his neck, he heard her sobbed.
"What took you so long? I waited like I promised." She said.
He kneeled to hug her back. "I’m sorry for making you wait. It took longer than I expected. But I came as soon as it was over."
She gently pushed him away and was shocked to see blood on his face and shirt. But she didn’t let herself to fear him.
"You should take a shower first. I’ll reheat the food so we can have dinner. You didn’t eat outside, right?
"Of course not! I want to eat the food you make so I didn’t take anything Rock gave me." He said.
She nodded. "Good. Then go and clean up. I won’t wait any longer."
He smiled, pinched her cheek, and stood up. She was hesitating to ask him, but it would bother her if she wouldn’t. When he turned his back, she pulled the lining of his shirt.
"Did you kill him?" She asked.
Caden quickly nodded. "Yes. It’s done."
