My Fated Mate Can Have Her-Chapter 118: Emergence
[Warning: Mixed POV]
- Violet -
The power raged through my body like a wildfire, burning away the last remnants of pain and replacing it with something vast and terrible and utterly consuming.
And I relished in the welcoming sensation.
Every blade of grass in the Red Woods. Every tree root threading through the soil. Every insect crawling across bark. Every drop of blood soaking into the earth.
I felt everything.
But it didn’t stop there.
My awareness spread outward like ripples on water, expanding beyond the forest boundaries into territories I had never seen. I felt wolves in distant packs, their hearts beating in rhythms unique to each individual. I sensed cities and towns and settlements scattered across the nation like stars across a vast darkness.
I felt everything, and as seconds passed, the sensation started to feel straining.
Focusing on the whole nation was unnecessary.
I reached inward, grasping the wild torrent of power, and forced it to contract.
The awareness snapped back like a tight rope being released. As the pillars vanished, I withdrew my attention from the distant packs and everything beyond the red woods. The relief was immediate and my body stopped screaming its protest as the scope of my abilities shrunk to only encompass the forest.
That was enough.
The rage that had been building throughout this entire ordeal still simmered hot under my skin. The stupid forces weren’t cooperating so I ate them. I could not clearly recall how I did that, but they would never be divided again, and they would listen to nothing else but me.
This was harmony.
The power pulsed under my skin in flashing white, silver and gold. They rhythmic flashes of light coming from my body matched my heartbeat.
My restored arm drew my attention and I examined the new flesh, stunned.
All my wounds were gone.
Behind me, I felt a warm comforting presence. I started turning towards it when I noticed I was hovering slightly in the air. Suddenly aware of the feeling, I fell to the ground. I caught myself and only landed on my feet.
My heart jumped in my chest and the presence behind me immediately vanished into nothing. I turned around.
There was nothing behind me even though I had clearly felt something there.
A small glint of light caught my eye and I found the pendant embedded into the ground.
It was hot when I picked it up, but I still cradled it in my palms as the lights pulsed underneath my skin, reflecting off the silver surface of the metal.
Then I sensed something else.
Someone else.
My head snapped up in the opposite direction, eyes locking onto a spot between two massive tree trunks where a familiar presence cowered in the shadows.
Darnel.
He was trying to sink back into the darkness, trying to disappear, his body trembling so violently I could hear his bones rattling from here.
The rage that had been simmering reignited inside me.
He was still alive.
After everything he had done, I thought the Righg would have killed him off before I finished the job, but he was still standing.
My focus had narrowed to a single point, and I started walking toward him.
My bare feet made no sound on the forest floor, and the torn remnants of my dress hung from my body in tatters, barely covering anything. But modesty was so far beyond my current concerns it might as well have been in another world.
He yelped and whimpered, trying to back away further.
But the limp in his leg slowed him down.
Even without it, he had nowhere else to go. His legs were shaking so badly that he could barely stand.
I felt the sudden pull in my chest try to reassert itself, that insistent tugging me towards somewhere. Toward whatever destination it had been dragging me toward this entire time.
I reached for it with my will and crushed it.
The sensation vanished instantly.
I was done being controlled. Done being pulled and pushed and manipulated by forces that didn’t care if I lived or died. This was my life. My body. My power.
My steps didn’t falter as I closed the distance between myself and Darnel. The glow from my body cast harsh shadows across his wolf’s face, making his terror even more obvious.
Good.
He should be terrified.

Hours later, and the eclipse was already fading.
The moon’s shadow gradually retreating from the sun’s face, allowing light to return to the world in slow, measured increments that spanned even more hours. The unnatural darkness that had blanketed everything was giving way to the warm glow of a cool afternoon.
Wolves had been emerging from the red woods.
They stumbled out in ones and twos at first, then in larger groups, all of them looking disoriented and shaken. Some were injured from fights with Righgs that had suddenly vanished mid-combat. Others simply looked confused, their eyes wide and uncertain as they tried to process what they had witnessed.
The pillars of light had affected them all differently. Some had been close enough to feel the power radiating from them. Others had only seen them from a distance.
But every single one of them knew something impossible had just happened.
I wanted to rush in immediately, but something held me back.
The bond was there, but the energy I felt coming from her was... different. Changed.
Her figure soon emerged from the trees, ending every rushed conversation in the field.
She walked slowly, her steps steady, and as she came into clearer view, the full horror of her state became apparent.
She was completely naked, and her entire body was drenched in blood. So much blood that did not belong to her.
In her right hand, held almost casually, was a severed head.
Darnel’s?
And behind her, dragged through the dirt by one leg, was Corin’s wounded body.
I should have rushed to her. Should have shifted and run to pull her into my arms and hold her, but I still couldn’t move.
Fear, worry, and guilt.
But beneath all of that, growing stronger with each passing second, was another feeling.
Admiration.
And it made me feel sick to the core.
How could I feel pride right now after all the horror she must have endured?
The guilt twisted deeper, mixing with the pride and worry and fear until I couldn’t separate them anymore.
All I knew was that my mate had walked through hell and emerged on the other side. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
And I had let her walk in alone.
