Chapter 227: No Turning Back [18+]

Violet

The kiss broke and he paused to stare at me.

I didn’t remember wrapping myself around him.

One moment I was lost in the kiss, drowning in the heat of his mouth and the rough drag of his tongue against mine. The next, awareness crashed back into me, and I realized my legs were locked around his waist, my hips pressed flush against something hard and hot and throbbing.

The hard length of him was pressed right against me through his pants.

My heart lurched into my throat.

He was the same size as Kael. That same intimidating thickness, that same impossible length that had stretched me to my limits. The memory of how overwhelming it had been flickered through my mind, and a thread of fear and guilt wound tight around my chest even as heat pooled hotter between my legs.

This was fine. This was enough. We could stop here and...

The syzygy flared so intensely that thinking became impossible.

It surged through me like a tidal wave and crashed against my senses. I felt Rowan’s need pulsing through the bond, amplifying my own until the fear drowned beneath it.

I felt how badly he wanted me. His heart hammered against my chest, every muscle in his arms trembled with restraint, and his hips rocked forward in tiny, helpless jerks even though he was trying to hold still.

He leaned back, and without breaking my gaze, he reached down and stripped off his pants.

The fabric dragged wetly against his skin, and he flung it aside with an impatience that made my stomach flip.

I couldn’t look away.

He was fully hard, thick and flushed and curving slightly upward. The head was swollen and dark, glistening at the tip with fresh arousal. A prominent vein ran along the underside, and I watched it pulse with each beat of his heart.

The sight of him made something low in my belly clench, a mixture of want and shock that stole the breath from my lungs.

Rowan positioned himself between my thighs, nudging them further apart with his knees. His hands slid beneath my hips, lifting me slightly, and angling me toward him. The blunt head of him pressed against my entrance and I fought to supress the shudder that coursed through me.

He paused there, breathing hard, his whole body taut with restraint.

His eyes searched my face.

My body moved before my mind could catch up. My hips tilted just a bit, and the blunt head of him slid through my slick folds, catching at my entrance.

We both froze.

His breath punched out of him, ragged, almost pained. Mine hitched on a soft, broken sound.

My heart thundered. He was right there. Pressing. Not inside yet, but so close that the slightest shift would—

He groaned and his forehead dropped to mine.

"Violet..." My name sounded like so many things at once. I didn’t entirely know if it was a plea, prayer, or a warning.

My heart jumped, realising what we were about to do, and instead, to my shock, I rolled my hips again and the head of him slipped inside.

He buried himself inside me in one sudden, brutal thrust.

Pain lanced through me and my hands flew to his shoulders, nail digging in hard enough to draw blood as my eyes watered.

Rowan went completely still above me.

"Violet—" His voice was ragged, horrified. "I’m sorry. I didn’t mean— I am so sorry—I—"

"It hurts..."

His face was twisted with guilt, his whole body trembling with the effort of holding himself motionless inside me. His eyes searched my face frantically, and I could see the panic in them, the desperate fear that he had hurt me.

"I shouldn’t have—I lost control, I—"

"Just..." I managed, my voice thin and shaky as the pain subsided. "Please, just go slowly..."

He nodded, his jaw clenched so tight I could see the muscle jumping beneath his skin. Sweat beaded at his temples, and I could feel the tremor running through his arms where he braced himself above me.

He pulled back and slid forward again. Carefully. Gently. His eyes never left my face, watching for any sign of pain, ready to stop the moment I asked.

The discomfort was still there.

Another slow thrust. My breath hitched.

Another. The ache began to shift.

What was left of the discomfort softened, transforming into something else a warmth that spread outward from where we were joined. It caused a tingling along my nerves, pooling low in my belly.

I exhaled shakily, my body relaxing around him.

Rowan murmured something I couldn’t clearly hear. His hips moved in slow, careful strokes, each one dragging his thick length against my sensitive walls.

Another thrust. The warmth built higher.

Another. My hips tilted up to meet his.

And bit by bit, the familiar wave hit.

"Oh—"

A moan spilled from my lips, and my thighs squeezed around his waist, pulling him deeper.

Rowan groaned, his head dropping forward. His breath came in hot bursts against my lips, and I could feel his whole body shaking with the effort of maintaining his slow pace.

"Violet—"

I rocked against him again, chasing more of that sensation, grinding my hips up into his. The movement made him slide even deeper, hitting a spot inside me that made the leaves hanging above dance.

I cried out, my back arching.

His control began to fray.

His thrusts sped up, still careful but growing more urgent. Each stroke sent sparks cascading through my body. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

"Rowan—"

He suddenly drove into me with a force that stole my breath.

His hips snapped forward, burying himself to the hilt, and I screamed at the sudden depth. Before I could recover, he pulled back and slammed in again, setting a pace that left no room for thought.

Each thrust jolted through my entire body. The sound of skin slapping against skin echoed through the grove, mixing with my broken moans and his ragged groans. The fabric beneath me bunched and shifted as he pounded into me, and I could do nothing but hold on.
