My Favorite Game Followed Me!-Chapter 669
Chapter 669
Anton had let go of his guilt for requiring Kirk, Mesono, Omar, and Abdul to guard the family for 30 years after they had become archmages. At first, he thought that he was harsh and felt like it was akin to slavery, but his father told him that it was more like a very long employment term. Anders also mentioned that it was actually very generous of him because raising a wizard from novice to archmage status would require a fortune.
Not only that, but the four young wizards would not be tied to the mansion and would have their freedom. They just needed to make sure that the Rose Manor was guarded from malicious magic once they were capable enough to guard the family manor.
“Besides, with the circumstances that we have right now, there’s no telling what would happen a few years from now,” Anders had told Anton.
In about three days, Anton would need to report to Captain Nando, so he told Kirk and the others to return to the inn to continue memorizing their spells. Anton planned to continue completing his goal of exploring all of the plazas that host artists.
“I’ll return before the sun goes down. Ishmael should take care of your meals,” Anton told his apprentices.
Anton actually still did not know what to call Kirk, Mesono, Omar, and Abdul. Were they his apprentices or were they his employees? He was not actually teaching them but providing them with resources. Once he brought them to the Rose Manor, he would hire a magic teacher to tutor them. He would also ask Luna and Alfred’s teacher to teach the guys some etiquette so they would not embarrass themselves in the company of nobles and wizards.
It did not occur to Anton that he also needed those. Even if he becomes aware, due to his power, a lot of face could be forgiven.
Anton summoned four Spirit Wolves to guard Kirk and the others. They were now carrying relatively valuable items, and since the promised order in New Drennor was relative, better safe than sorry. He knew that once he was far enough away from the guys, the Spirit Wolves would just reappear beside him, but more than likely, the four would be safe inside the inn.
He did not want to walk to the plaza where the artists were, so Anton flagged a carriage. After an hour of riding, he felt the Spirit Wolves that he summoned to guard Kirk and the others appearing near him, so he dismissed them immediately.
Anton thought of the fact that he still did not have any long-range communication magic, so while the carriage was running, he explored the spellbooks that he had purchased for high-level mana stones. He had hundreds of them, and when he purchased them, he did not actually look at the spells; and just told the salesman to bring the spellbooks that were on the list that the man had given him.
After a few minutes of searching, he actually found a level six spell called Telepathic Conversation. The spell would allow him to converse with someone he knew very well, and it had a maximum range of 200 kilometers. It was out of range of the Rose Manor, but he could use it to talk to Kirk and the others. Thankfully, the spell only required him to know the person he intended to converse with to be well-known to him.
Anton memorized the spell in a few minutes and cast it, intending the spell to reach Kirk. When he connected, he laughed out loud since his young novice wizard employee was extremely startled.
“Is that you, Master Anton?”
“This is the first time you called me, Master. Just call me, Anton. I’m just testing this long-range communication spell that I’ve bought. Are you all in the suite, memorizing spells?”
“Yes, but it’s really slow compared to when we’re near you.”
“You four have to get used to it since once I’ve rejoined the fight against the Undead Coalition, you’ll be on your own.”
The carriage driver suddenly knocked on the window, informing Anton that they had arrived at the plaza, so he finished his talk with Kirk and exited the carriage, and paid the carriage driver.
Anton headed directly to the third plaza since he had already been to the first and second. The first act that he saw was some sort of mini theater that had a few actors. He was not an actor, so he was not qualified to critique them, but he was extremely impressed. He could almost forget that he was watching a play instead of viewing scenes from real people.
One thing he noticed. His presence caused a reaction from the artists in the plaza. It was as if they had become aware of his presence, but they were all professional enough that only those with truly high perception would be aware of that situation. Anton’s stats were high, so he noticed immediately, but since their performances did not look like they were affected, he just let it be.
The audience was a little large, but because of the size of the plaza, there was no feeling of constriction, so Anton still enjoyed the ambiance. During an intermission, a very young boy who was wearing the same clothes as the actors and the people assisting them joined Anton. The kid was probably one of the actors or the helper’s kid.
“Are you truly a very terrifying and powerful wizard?” The kid innocently asked Anton.
Anton saw that the surrounding people who heard the kid looked at Anton and the kid in horror. The actors and their helpers, who also heard, looked terrified.
“Why do you say that?” Anton asked the kid.
“Gregor and his cohorts were captured by the guards for trying to rob a super wizard. Are you that wizard?” The kid asked.
“It’s Supreme Wizard, not Super Wizard, and yes, I’m a Supreme Rank wizard that they tried to rob. Do you know them?”
“Yes. They’re bullies who kept bullying my family! It’s a good thing that they were captured by the guards!” The kid said.
An old woman suddenly rushed from behind the actors’ stage and snatched the kid.
“Forgive Lawrence, sir. He’s only five years old and did not know better.” The old lady said, and Anton just shrugged.
The old woman carried the young boy to the back, and the play continued. This time, Anton knew that his presence caused the actors to perform poorly, so after they were done, he clapped, threw a few gold coins into their assigned donation box, and left to watch another act.
At first, Anton thought that the experience would sour because the artists had learn that there was a Supreme Wizard in their audience, but after a few minutes, he was actually astonished that the performers immediately became stable. He heard a few laughs and saw three young people in the distance who were probably performers as well. They looked like they were the same age as him.
Anton went to them and asked what they were laughing about since they were clearly talking about him.
“I don’t believe you’re a Supreme Rank wizard. You’re probably just a novice mage that was given some magical items by your rich master,” The girl who looked like a gypsy said.
Anton was startled.
“Are you not afraid of my supposed master, then?”
“Not really. The plaza had been entertaining a lot of people for thousands of years, and wizards were among them,” The boy who looked extremely similar to the gypsy girl said.
Anton just shrugged. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
“Can you guide and introduce me to the acts then? I’ll pay one three one gold each,” Anton asked.
The three nodded enthusiastically, and the gypsy girl commented that Anton’s master was probably extremely rich.
