My Fenrir System: Heir To The End-Chapter 3: Showdown against the dungeon boss Part - 2
Chapter 3: Showdown against the dungeon boss Part - 2
At the same time that the group was about to face the boss monster, outside the dungeon a contingent of high-ranking members of the Hunter's Association was arriving.
This was occurring as a result of the report Robert had filed about the change in the dungeon's rating, which had gone from a low rating to an unknown.
"Robert, can you explain what happened?"
Asked a blond-haired man who seemed to have the lead among the new arrivals.
"Of course, sir!" Robert, replied with a tone of respect evident in his voice.
He began to recount in meticulous detail everything that had happened from the moment the group led by Adam entered the dungeon. He was fully aware of the seriousness of the events and the possibility of negative consequences.
The blond listened attentively, not interrupting at any point until Robert finished explaining.
"And that's what happened," Robert concluded his explanation.
The blond frowned, lost in thought.
"Mmm... Did you try to enter the dungeon after it changed?"
"No, Mr. Leon." Robert denied it vehemently.
Leon was silent for a moment, deep in thought. Then he advanced toward the dungeon that now boasted a golden glow.
Standing in front of the entrance, he tried to enter, but an invisible force seemed to obstruct his passage.
"As I expected, I can't enter..."
His brow furrowed slightly, unable to enter the dungeon, the case was more troublesome than he expected.
'And if he broke in...'
The thought of breaking in crossed Leon's mind.
He began to channel his magical energy, feeling the pressure of the place increase as the ground cracked beneath his feet.
The magical energy that enveloped him distorted the surrounding environment, causing his hair and bits of ground to defy gravity as they rose into the air.
After releasing his magical power, he directed it to his hands. The atmosphere began to calm as the magical energy flowed into Leon's hands.
Once all the magical power was concentrated in Leon's hands, he tried once more to enter the dungeon.
The moment his magical energy hands made contact with the dungeon, crackling sounds were instantly heard. An intense gust of wind was unleashed, sending nearby objects flying with force.
Realizing that his first attempt had failed, Leon channeled all his magical power into his right hand, taking a firm stance to strike hard at the invisible barrier preventing him from entering the dungeon.
Concentrating all his magical energy in his right hand, he threw a punch with all his might...
BOOM!
A thunderous sound resounded after Leon launched his attack, causing the entire area within a one-kilometer radius to shake violently, alerting everyone within that range.
Swoosh!
The wind blew hard a few seconds later, carrying with it the dust that had been kicked up by the blow.
This revealed Leon in the middle of a small crater, while the dungeon remained completely intact.
"Well, it looks like this didn't work either. We're just left to wait..."
He let out a sigh as he began to walk out of the crater, dusting off his suit as he made his way toward his subordinates.
"Keep me informed of any changes in the dungeon."
Leon ordered before walking away from the scene, leaving his subordinates in charge of the enigmatic dungeon.
"Yes, sir!"
He simply extended his hand by way of farewell, got into a car and drove away. His busy schedule and overwhelming workload demanded his immediate attention.

"Attack!"
With Adam leading the assault, Sofia began to mutter a chant. A magic circle emerged in front of her as a fireball slowly formed.
Adam quickly turned his head and noticed that Sophia was conjuring a spell. He stopped dead in his tracks and raised his protective shield.
"HAAAAAAAAA!"
Adam shouted, using his "provoke" ability to get the monster's attention.
The imposing wolf focused his gaze on Adam after the powerful cry. Taking advantage of the distraction created by his ability, gave Sofia the time she needed to complete the preparation of her spell.
However, Sofia, in her urgency, recklessly expended all her magical energy when she finished her incantation.
"[Fireball]"
Sofia threw her brand new project towards the monster who had his eyes fixed on Adam.
"Gasp... gasp..."
Sofia fell to her knees after throwing the fireball, completely exhausting her magical energy.
The fireball approached the huge wolf, which Adam was looking at due to the influence of the provocation skill, and...
BOOM!
A thunderous sound echoed throughout the room, raising a dense cloud of dust.
Everyone remained motionless, tensely watching the thick layer of dust, waiting to see if Sophia's attack had caused any damage.
A few seconds later, the dust began to gradually dissipate, slowly revealing the location of the huge wolf.
When the dust cloud dissipated completely, the huge wolf was exposed, its fur not even burned, staring at Sofia with visible hostility.
Everyone's expressions darkened at the sight of the huge wolf completely unharmed despite having received a direct attack from Sofia. It looked as if the attack hadn't even grazed it.
"N-he didn't even give her a scratch."
"No...she couldn't have. She didn't cause him any harm."
"Haa...haa...it's...it's this is, impossible! Use all my magical energy!"
"We're finished..."
Everyone's expressions darkened, looking at the huge wolf who was untouched, and had lost the will to fight.
"Grrr...!"
The huge wolf, obviously annoyed by the attack, suddenly disappeared from its position.
And it appeared in front of Sofia. None of the group could follow the speed of the beast; all they saw was a residual image of the movement the beast made.
"?!"
Sofia, finding herself in front of the imposing wolf, tried to move, but her tiredness prevented her from doing so since she had used all her strength in the previous attack.
The huge wolf appeared in front of her extending its claw and attacked her quickly.
"Huh?"
A confused expression appeared on Sophia's face, noticing that the huge wolf had not caused her any harm.
However, she didn't know that the beast's attack had been so fast that it was invisible to her eyes.
In a short time, Sofia's body began to split into three parts diagonally, falling lifelessly to the ground. Blood and internal organs spilled out, forming a macabre puddle.
"KYAAAAAAAA...!!!!"
Luna screamed in terror, at the sight of Sofia's lifeless body, unleashing chaos on everyone.
"HAAAAAAAAAAA...!!!!"
Elio and Aldo rushed crying over the beast in an attempt to avenge their partner, but in vain.
The huge wolf was moving at such a speed that their actions were futile and soon they shared the same tragic fate as Sofia.
"Don't run you fucking monster!!!"
The huge wolf appeared behind them; its jaws snapped open and closed, devouring the upper half of their bodies as the lower half fell to the ground, painting the surface with blood and entrails.
"We're finished..."
"Why the fuck did I come to this dungeon?"
"I just hope my mother isn't sad..."
The survivors fell to the ground in terror, their eyes reflecting dread as they watched the huge wolf devour their companions, they had lost the will to live, accepting their fate, which is none other than death.
With some guts hanging out of its mouth, the wolf turned its gaze to the remaining members of the group.
Acting quickly, the wolf appeared in front of Adam and repeated the brutal process, as it had done with Elio and Aldo.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
Luna got up from the floor screaming, terrified and ran for the door. Before she got there, she realized that her surroundings were turned upside down.
"... Huh?"
In that instant she understood that she had been decapitated, Luna's limp body slumped to the ground.
Only Erik remained alive, sitting on the ground with a dark, dejected expression.
The wolf, having finished with Luna, advanced towards him, who was terrified and paralyzed.
'Now it's my turn... Why the hell did I choose this damn job, why didn't I heed all those warnings about how dangerous it would be? I didn't expect to die so young'
He is regretting it now, not having heeded the warnings of this job, but it's no use now that he is on the verge of death.
The wolf, already in front of him, sniffed him for a few seconds and then grabbed him, leading him towards an altar.
'Huh?'
Erik was confused to notice that the beast was not killing him, but leading him to an impeccably clean altar.
Once in front of the altar, the beast closed its jaws tightly and...
Crack!
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"
Erik let out a piercing scream as he felt most of his bones fracture from the brutality of the act.
The wolf left Erik's body on the altar as the blood stained the surface red, creating a macabre contrast.
Slowly he began to lose consciousness due to the profuse blood loss. A few seconds later, the altar began to radiate an intense golden light, illuminating the entire room.
The huge wolf also began to glow with a golden light and its form became ethereal, merging with Erik's body.
Not understanding what was happening, he completely lost consciousness.
