My Fenrir System: Heir To The End-Chapter 32: Problems are coming
Chapter 32: Problems are coming
Sensing that Erik had left the building, Leon stretched out his arms, and an amused smile bloomed on his face. "Now things are going to get interesting," he exclaimed, aware that not too long before the whole city was even more rowdy than it is now. He would not be a spectator as in the past.
One of the people in the room did not understand why their leader accepted the alliance with a D-ranked hunter. "Leader, why did you accept the alliance with that hunter?" he asked respectfully. He wanted to understand the benefit his leader saw in this, as with a simple glance there seemed to be nothing to gain.
Leon looked up and met the face of his subordinate, Irine. "My dear Irine, do you want to know why I accepted an alliance with him?"
Irine attended, her cheeks slightly flushed by the way he called out to her.
However, contrary to what she had expected, Leon simply flashed a mysterious little smile. "By the way, Alan, I noticed you recoiled a bit when Erik spoke to you."
Irine, seeing how he changed the subject, decided not to insist any further. She knew very well that Leon would not give her an answer, no matter how many times she repeated the same question.
For his part, Alan was biting his lips in frustration as he remembered how he felt afraid of a simple D-ranked hunter. He is a B-ranked hunter! Why should he be afraid of a D-ranked hunter? And to make matters worse, he backed down from a D-ranked hunter in front of the people he respects the most in this world.
Leon looked at him a little disappointed at the way he reacted moments before. Just because Erik spoke to him casually. Although I knew that he was not a bad person, he had a big problem: He admired him too much as if he were a divine entity.
That kind of admiration is not good for him or for anyone else, since he could find himself with a guy much stronger than Erik and irrational, capable of killing him in the blink of an eye because of his attitude. Therefore, he decided not to intervene when Erik spoke to him so coldly.
'Well, Erik is a special case just with his aura he pushed back a B-ranked hunter.'
'With that guy, I'm never bored'.
Leon looked at Erik as a friend, which he doesn't have, because ever since he became the 'Strongest' everyone came to him with one or two intentions. But, Erik despite knowing who he is didn't change the way he talks to him.
"Irine, come and warm my lap" spoke Leon with a small smile, he was now in a good mood, he looked at Irine whose face was completely flushed.
Irine, her face completely flushed, settled into Leon's lap. She closed her eyes and rested her head on his chest, listening to Leon's soft heartbeat.
....
"My sir... My sir... My sir..."
Alexander, who was contemplating the scenery through the window with a glass of whiskey in hand, turned his attention back to Mario, who hurriedly entered his office. "What's going on, why are you interrupting like this?" he said calmly, his eyes returning to the view outside.
Mario kept a brief silence and took a breath of air. He was not a hunter, but an ordinary person. After inhaling deeply, he spoke, "My sir, we have found clues of the young master."
Alexander was completely frozen. He turned slowly looking Mario straight in the eye. His voice trembled as he spoke, "Are there any clues to my son?"
"That's right, sir. The hacker we contacted provided us with the address where the young master was headed. We've already sent a group to investigate the location."
"Where did my son go?"
Mario adjusted his glasses well. He began to read the report sent to him. "According to the hacker, the young master went to a dungeon in the company of his girlfriend Cristina, along with other unknown people: Erik, Violet, and David."
Alexander's expression slowly turned to a completely cold one, as the pressure of the place increased. He already had a rough idea of why there was no trace of his son anywhere. Furthermore what little hope he harbored that his son was alive vanished completely after hearing this.
"Tell me, are these three also alive or have they disappeared like my son?" he inquired in an icy voice that made Mario shiver.
A cold sweat began to fall, down Mario's forehead and back. He swallowed saliva with difficulty, feeling his legs turn to jelly under the relentless pressure of a B-rank hunter. For a normal person like him, it was to be admired that he wasn't on his knees with the pressure in the room.
Mario struggled with determination and willpower to articulate his words under the pressure he was experiencing. With a strained tone, he managed to communicate, "Sir, no... there is no news of David, but there is news of Erik and Violet. The day the young master disappeared, they sold numerous mana stones."
Crack!!!
The huge window behind Alexander cracked completely because the pressure suddenly increased.
"Heuk!"
Under the crushing pressure, Mario was unable to stand and his body collapsed to the ground, struggling to breathe.
Alexander's expression turned completely dark, while the aura his body was giving off was distorting everything around him.
"Mario... transmit my order to all the members of the group. I want them to cause a great genocide throughout the city as an attribute to my son."
"No matter if they are hunters or not, I also want them to cause collapses in the dungeons belonging to our guild."
"And bring those two individuals to me so that I can kill them with my own hands and make them feel hell," Alexander declared in a grave and serene voice. Then, he stood up and left the place with a completely somber expression.
Thus, he left Mario alone in the office, struggling for breath and drenched in sweat.
....
At the front of a mid-ranking dungeon, Erik and Violet were handing in their hunter cards, to be checked to see if they were D-ranked hunters.
Violet, who was waiting for them to finish checking their cards, had something that had been bothering her since they left the association. "Erik, would you mind if I asked you a question?"
Erik, who was deep in thought, turned his attention to Violet and calmly replied, "Of course, go ahead."
After a brief moment of silence, Violet asked her question, "Why did you decide to turn down Leon's proposal to join their group? Wouldn't it be more convenient for us to join them?"
Erik took his moment before responding. "Well, the reason I turned down your offer is the same reason I mentioned at the time. As for us joining, to me, it seemed somewhat restrictive, as if we were chaining ourselves together."
Plus the very idea of being tied down made him uncomfortable, it's as if his entire existence felt threatened. He plans to repay this favor to Leon in the future to be free of everything. That's why he asked for an alliance with Leon, to cope with the current situation.
"I understand... so, in short, you don't like the idea of being subordinate to someone," Violet commented, assimilating the reason behind the rejection of the proposal. Still, she did not regret the decision, as she had secured a much more valuable alliance.
"Exactly."
"Here are your cards."
Erik and Violet took the cards, and entered the dungeon, knowing nothing that when they came out they would find the city in complete 'Chaos' something that had never happened in the city since the dungeons first appeared.
....
Once they entered the dungeon they found a huge desert and a strong sun that seemed to burn you alive.
Violet without much delay created an ice umbrella to be cooler since the heat was quite strong.
Erik, on the other hand, opened the information window, to look at the contents of the daily mission.
Tti-ring

After closing the information window, Erik turns his gaze to Violet, who is carrying an icy umbrella, diverts his attention to his surroundings and then gazes out at the vast desert that seems to stretch on endlessly.
"Well, as expected in a mid-ranking dungeon" he mutters to himself, taking in the magnitude of what is before his eyes. He realizes that one slip-up could cost him his life. Before that happens, his eyes begin to subtly flash and Erik's vision goes black and white.
Noticing that there are no monsters nearby, Erik returns his gaze to Violet and calmly says, "Let's move on. There don't seem to be any monsters nearby."
And so they set off into the vast wilderness.
