Chapter 26 - Hide and seek

"Aahh… choo!!"

Zeri's sneeze echoed inside the quiet classroom while the young man whose face was close to hers stayed there frozen. His eyes were wide in utter disbelief as he looked at her. It seemed like he couldn't believe that someone just shamefully sneezed on his very face. Squirrel… are you really trying to drive me nuts? Huh?!

With veins popping on his forehead, Kira was so pissed he suddenly held Zeri's face in one hand to draw her closer to him. However, before he could begin to punish her with a kiss like what he planned, he saw her close her eyes as a sign that she was about to sneeze, causing him to immediately let go.

"Ahhh… choo!! Ahh… choo!" Another sneeze echoed and Kira's shoulders finally dropped as if he just lost another important battle that he'd never once lost before. Damn… how many times has it been now?! Huh?! This girl is really… damn it!!

Just as Kira was still face palming himself like an old man carrying the problems of the world on his shoulders, the other students finally arrived, forcing him to go back to his chair, annoyed to the core.

"I presume, Kira the great has suffered a great loss again, eh." As Rei's mischievous voice rang from behind him, Kira immediately glared hard at him like he was mad with the world, amusing Rei as he sat beside him.

"Sigh… so sad I didn't see what happened." He added but Kira's attention was already back to the girl in front of him, staring at her back, as if he was cooking up something. Pfft! I wonder if this guy was even aware that all his attention was on her alone now… how amusing!

After the class, Kira stood quickly to approach Zeri. He was planning to send her home today but… it looked like his attempt was again an utter failure. He didn't even take a step yet when the girl in front of him already disappeared. The damn ninja had escaped again and all Kira could do was just run his fingers through his hair in great annoyance as Rei's arm landed around his shoulder.

"I suggest that you should hasten your speed to 100% if you want to catch her." Rei said and Kira's elbow lightly hit his stomach, causing the young man to immediately let go.

"This is the last time I'll let her escape like this." He declared as he walked away and Rei simply smiled mischievously as he followed him. Oh… is that so?

The next day, Kira's mood was worse than the day before. His so called girlfriend had arrived late and was called by the teacher during break time so he didn't get the chance to even speak with her. What was worse was that she didn't come back after that. Kira had looked for her during lunch break but the squirrel seemed to have disappeared without a trace.

Kira's friends thought that she went home but because her bag was still on her chair, Kira believed that she was still inside the school.

"That damn squirrel, is she playing hide and seek with me now?! Where the hell did she hide herself?!" Kira was obviously so irritated. His mood was worse than when Zeri was beside him, annoying him.

"Easy Kira. I can't believe you are acting like this just because you haven't seen her for a few hours. What are you, a lonely wife getting worried about her missing husband? Take it ea-" Rei clamped his mouth as soon as he sensed Kira's deadly glares. It looked like he must restrain himself from teasing him right now or he might really snap.

Time passed and the bell finally rung. Kira took Zeri's bag, surprising their classmates, especially the girls.

"What are you planning to do with that?" Rei asked and Kira looked at him.

"What do you think?"

"Deliver it to her home?"

Just as the Kira was about to reply, an announcement rang. "This is the school nurse. I would like to call for a close friend of Miss Zeri Kim to come in the infirmary."

As soon as Kira heard it, his eyes circled as he looked at Rei. The next second, Kira quickly walked out of the classroom.
