My Gluttony System: I Devour God-Tier Talents-Chapter 26: Lightning
Boom!!!
What was left of the door didn’t open. It exploded as the wood and metal strayed in different directions.
Blue-white light soon took over the room, stretching in all directions. It was blinding, crackling and felt alive.
Not a second passed as Negan stepped in.
His body seemingly phasing in an out like electricity itself.
His body glowed as lightning clung to skin, stretching and twisting in all directions like a stampeding herd.
His eyes were burning. Twin points of electric blue Infernos that pierced through the darkness.
The air around the already destroyed safehouse churned as the very pressure of his presence caused all the windows to shatter as he entered.
He conquered everything in the vicinity and the other men who were rushing to the building as backups weren’t excluded.
Even from where they were outside they felt it. The presence of something otherworldly, something above human.
Amongst them, some fell to their knees in surrender.
While others grabbed their heads wincing in pain. Their minds spiralling out of control under the weight of his presence.
It was a psionic aura that sliced through the will of the weak like a hot knife through butter.
it wasn’t just power but a feeling of inevitability.
Negan’s gaze combed the room. Landing on three figures.
Kyrie was the last one, he was bleeding, broken and barely conscious trying his best to stay upright before falling back.
"You shouldn’t have touched him"
Negan’s voice was calm, it didn’t thunder but its pressure kneaded horror in the hearts of the two other figures.
The man closest to Kyrie turned completely, fists still raised with his orange aura intact but his confidence had totally evaporated.
His hands were trembling, fingers felt like he just walked out of a freezer.
His earlier grin lost to time as his lips parted
"What the hell—"
Negan moved in that moment.
He didn’t run nor charged.
But casually moved.
In the blink of an eye he was at the door.
Next, he was across the room.
A trail of lightning in the darkness.
His right hand slid through the chest of the man with so much precision, it left no recoil or splattering even as his gloves ripped apart from the friction.
Electricity surging from him into the man.
The man’s body convulsed, his eyes rolling back instantly as his mouth opened but there was no scream,no grunt, no final breath.
Everything drowning under the cackling.
Blue-white light suddenly burst out from the man’s eyes, his mouth, the hole in his chest even as dark smoke rose from his skin.
Negan casually pulled his hand back as the body collapsed, only twitching once before going silent permanently.
Smoke snaked from the burnt cavity where his heart had been, it was just hollow now everything there had evaporated in an instant.
Negan’s gaze soon shifted but not to Rudolf. It was the man who Kyrie had smacked on the back of the neck prior.
He grunted with eyes open as he tried to look at his surroundings but remembered there was a fight.
His instincts pushed him as he reached for the knife on his belt.
Quickly brandishing half-heartedly, like he wanted to keep fighting.
Negan at this point was dishing out judgement, the kind an Arbiter level psion imposed.
Lightning simply stretched from Negan’s body striking the man’s mid-section like a spear. Lifting him up and hurling him at the roof.
He slammed into the ceiling with immense force, smashing through copper pipes and then falling down face first to the concrete floor.
He remained completely still after that.
Rudolf who witnessed all this happened in little to ten seconds couldn’t even move.
He froze in fear. In awe.
His body trembling like a single step of his would mean this monster noticing there was another ant in his presence.
Negan turned slowly, his attention shifting to Rudolf.
Rudolf who was trembling began staggering backwards as he tried a last ditch attempt.
Was it desperation? Was it the fear of death?
It didn’t matter, he just acted.
Forming a mass of raw energy, the most he could muster in that moment as he sent the blast spiralling in mid air towards Negan’s head.
The wave of pure psionic force wasn’t ordinary, it had enough strength to shatter bones, leave people with multiple internal injuries and even scramble their minds.
But Negan walked at it. He’d walked through it.
The psychic blasts hit his aura and dissipated—as harmless as a bubble against a brick wall.
It didn’t slow him down nor did it even make him blink.
It was like it never happened.
Rudolf’s eyes widened.
"That’s Impossible"
Negan closed the distance as he witnessed the last bit of hope in Rudolf’s eyes vanish.
His hand reached for Rudolf’s throat wrapping around it and lifting him off the ground.
Electricity dived from his body into Rudolf’s—it was controlled and precise.
With just enough potency to paralyze but not to end his life.
"Tell Saul ," Negan said quietly, his voice cold and direct "that we can talk at the table where men eat."
Rudolf barely got the message, eyes rolled back as his body went limp.
Negan released his grip letting him fall like a ragdoll.
The spot where Negan’s feet was cracked—a spiderweb of cracks spreading outward from every spot he had stood in the last few seconds.
The entire safe house had scorch marks around as the smell of charred flesh filled the air.
Outside the building, the back up men who were surrounding the building were either fleeing into the evening or just lying still where Negan’s aura had overwhelmed them.
Negan’s aura began to slowly fade—its glow growing faint by the second, though not disappearing entirely.
The thick snakes of lightning around his body softened into shallow blue spirals.
His eyes now fully reverting to their normal electric blue.
He moved across the room, kneeling beside Kyrie. Raising him up slightly.
"Why’d you do something so stupid K-Y?"
Kyrie coughed as his blood shot eyes opened.
"I didn’t know it was going to get this bad "
Negan shook his head. He pulled the scarf from his coat, pressing it firmly against the wound in Kyrie’s thigh.
" Why didn’t you run dumbass."
"Tried that."
Kyrie’s voice was weak but steady.
"But it didn’t feel like the Shaw thing to do"
Negan almost smiled. Almost broke his stern face.
He sighed while he slipped an arm under Kyrie’s shoulders, the other under his trembling knees, lifting him up quickly but gently.
His steps were controlled, gentle and firm.
He didn’t look like the man who partook in the slaughter of all these men.
"Come on. Let’s get you out of here."
Kyrie’s was weak, darkness creeping into his eyes. But he desperately tried to stay conscious.
As Negan carried him toward the destroyed entrance, Kyrie’s gaze drifted across the room one last time.
The bodies that laid motionless. The crater on the floor, bullet holes everywhere.
"Sorry about the place " his weak voice came.
And though he was in pain, his head feeling like it was about to explode.
One thought was clear.
Negan was an absolute beast.
Ding!
