My Goalkeeping System-Chapter 257 Fifth Place
Frono FC tried their best to get an equalizer and grab a point at least from their first match, but Unique FC wasn't going to allow that as they held back until the referee brought the match to an end and they ended up losing all three points.
"That's the end of the sixth match in match day two, two teams have fought out their hearts today. It was a tough match between both sides but all Unique FC needed to seal the game was just one goal and when they got that goal, the game was sealed." Jim expressed. "And apart from that, they were the more organized team, their attack, midfield, and defense were all superb."
"This victory sees Unique FC move to fifth place behind fourth-placed Ballena United who defeated Razid FC two goals to one," Steve said. "They don't usually start their league campaign with a victory but just like I said, they're different this season, way different."
"Yeah, Frono FC ran out of luck on their home ground and this loss sees them move to sixteenth place on the table, I hope they'll be able to push themselves up when they face Lospeno FC on Saturday," Jim said. "The match comes to an end Frono FC nil, Unique FC one."
After that victory, the players made their way to the area where the fans were cheering and clapping for them to greet them.
It was really nice to see the fans putting their trust in them once again.
The man of the match was announced as soon as the match came to an end and unsurprisingly, it was Mateo Smith.
After the match, a player from both teams had to be officially interviewed and it happened to be Dave who was pushed off to be interviewed as his teammates made their way down the tunnel.
The blonde-haired female reporter was still interviewing Seth when he got there so he had to wait for his turn.
It took about twelve minutes for the reporter to be through with the winger and now, it was time for the goalkeeper to get asked a couple of questions.
"Good day, Dave, and congratulations on your victory." She said as soon as he stopped in front of the glass board-like structure that had the League's logo and the logo of all the sponsors on it.
"Thank you." The goalkeeper replied.
"So, Dave, your team just beat Frono FC, this is the second time you guys are beating them away from home, how do you feel about that?"
"I feel happy of course, they've been dominating us for quite a while and it's good to see that we can get the better of them on their home turf, something that was very difficult for us to do last two seasons ago and hopefully this sends a message across to all the teams who thought that we wouldn't be able to do anything this season." He replied.
"Okay, next question. How did you feel when Darwin was rushing toward you with the ball and the referee didn't blow his whistle for an offside?"
"To be honest, that was quite a terrifying moment not just for me but for my teammates, the fans, the coach, and everyone else who is part of our team, you know Darwin is a great striker, he hardly misses one on ones, I knew it would be impossible to stop him but I was going to try my luck."
"And when the referee blew his whistle your heart was suddenly at ease I believe." The reporter said.
"Of course, I'm glad that he was caught offside, if not, this match would have probably ended in a draw or they could have beaten us." The goalkeeper replied.
"Okay, final question." The reporter said after nodding. "This victory this evening sees you guys move to fifth place and leveled on points with Supreme United, Dynamo FC, Trohmam United, and Ballena United. How do you feel about that and how long do you think you guys can keep this going?" She asked.
"I think I'm just going to give you simple answers to both of your questions." The goalkeeper said. "My team is currently sitting in fifth place on the table, we're happy with that but we're going to try and move higher, that's our goal this season and about how long I think we can keep this up, I think we can keep it up for the rest of the season and even beyond but I know it's not going to be easy."
"Alright, that will be enough for now, it was nice talking to you." She said before stretching her hand for a handshake which Dave didn't see any reason not to accept.
After that, the goalkeeper slowly began to make his way down the tunnel.

'I'm now at level eight.' He said subconsciously as he made his way to the locker room. 'It's going to take a while for me to get to level nine.
<It will be short if you face a tough team and complete the match quests you're given concerning the match>
'That's going to be tough.'
<Of course it's going to be tough, you don't expect facing a tough team to be a walk over>
The goalkeeper got to the locker room to see that his teammates weren't celebrating at all.
He wasn't expecting them to be celebrating wildly as this was just the first match of the season but he was looking forward to seeing them doing something fun or crazy.
"Oh, well." He muttered before he made his way to Mateo who was sitting on one of the seats while he was untying the lace on his boots.
"Hey," Dave said before picking up the man of the match award which was similar to the UEFA champions league man of the match award in quite a few ways. "Another man of the match award for you."
"Yeah, but I feel like you deserved it more, I didn't do much on the pitch today." The winger said before pulling off the boot on his right foot.
"What the heck are you saying? You created a couple of chances here and there and scored a sensational goal, why shouldn't the award go to you?" The goalkeeper asked.
"Yeah, but you did better with those saves."
Dave didn't want to argue about it any further so he decided to shift away from who deserved the award or not.
"So, how many man-of-the-match awards do you have now?" The goalkeeper asked.
"This one makes it twenty now." The winger replied.
"Nice," Dave said as he nodded his head slowly.
"How many do you have?" Mateo asked.
"Just five."
"Oh, goalkeepers don't really get appreciated that much, but don't worry, I'm sure you'll win a lot of man-of-the-match awards."
<You know he is right about you performing better than him in this match>
'Huh?'
<Let me show you>
