<With this amount of skill upgrade points you could level up a skill twice and still have some left>

'Yeah, but I expected a bit more experience points.'

<More experience points?>

'Yeah, like five hundred upwards, avoiding junk food isn't easy you know especially now that Emma is eating more of them because of her pregnancy, she's tried forcing me to eat one of those three times have you forgotten? And I managed to pull through that.' The goalkeeper said subconsciously.

<I know and I do think you deserve a little bit extra because of that, but this is what the system has decided to give to you so you have to accept it like that>

'I guess.' He said subconsciously before he let out a deep sigh as he shut the freezer. 'It's not like I can reject it or anything, at least this has helped me level up earlier than I expected.'

[ Level up ]

'Getting to level ten is going to take a while.' The goalkeeper said before taking his food to the microwave to heat it up a little.

<If you want it to>

After hitting up his food, he took it to the dining area and ate to his fill before making his way to the couch.

After getting to the couch, he slowly slumped down on it before raising his gaze to look at the ceiling.

[ Unused stat points: 20 ]

[ Skill points: 13 ]

[ Skill upgrade points: 90 ]

<You have ninety skill upgrade points, don't you think it's time to try leveling up one of your skills with huge drawbacks and see how they would improve?>

'Yeah, I know, but I haven't made up my mind on which one to choose yet.'

<You haven't made up your mind?>

'Yeah.'

<Then how about I help you make up your mind?>

'Okay, what are your thoughts?'

<I think the most important skill you have in your arsenal is focus>

'I think Ball magnet is the most important skill in my arsenal.'

<Well, you can say that because it's the one that you constantly use as it doesn't really have any drawbacks but there's a reason why focus costs more skill points>

'I know, you've already lectured me on that.'

<The skill has already leveled up to level two which means its effects have already gone down a bit compared to what you experienced last time, and if you can just level it up a bit more with your skill upgrade points, it'll just get better>

'Okay.'

<So, upgrade it now and then go outside and check it out>

'Seriously, Catherine?'

<What?>

'We're not in my dream world, you know, I actually get tired here and you should know how draining running twenty kilometers can be, my energy and stamina are not even completely recharged yet.'

[ 79% stamina remaining ]

[ 99/129 Energy ]

<Okay, fine, get some sleep, and then you can go outside and do it, it's not like I can force you to do it, I mean I can, but it's not something that I would want to do>

"Thank you." The goalkeeper mumbled before slowly closing his eyes.

After about an hour had gone, the goalkeeper slowly opened his eyes and blinked them about four times before slowly sitting up on the couch.

<You're finally awake>

He made sure to turn off his dream control feature so that Catherine would not be able to disturb him in his sleep, and he was glad he did that.

'Yeah, I think that was all the sleep I needed.' He said subconsciously before stretching himself on the couch.

After stretching himself on the couch, he got up from the couch and stretched himself even more.

After doing that, he slowly made his way to the freezer to grab himself a glass of cold water.

He drank to his fill before he dropped the cup back from where he picked it up and began to make his way out of the area.

<Now are you going to go outside and try out what I told you?>

'Sure, why not?'

[ 100% stamina remaining ]

[ 129/129 Energy ]

He slowly made his way outside and straight to the garage to get the hyper ball blaster.

He pushed the ball out to the lawn before he went back inside to get the balls, he didn't take the goalpost down after training with it last time, so he didn't have to deal with putting it together although it wouldn't take him more than seven minutes to do that.

<Now, all you have to do is use your stacked-up skill upgrade points to upgrade your focus and get it to the highest level you can>

'Okay.'

[ Focus ]

[ Level: 2 ]

[ 0/30 skill upgrade points ]

'Here we go.'

[ -30 skill upgrade points ]

[ +30 skill points added to focus ]

[ Focus has leveled up to level 03 ]

[ 0/40 skill upgrade points ]

'I have sixty left, which means that level four is the highest I can get this skill to now.'

<Just do it>

[ -40 skill upgrade points ]

[ +40 skill upgrade points added to focus ]

[ Focus has leveled up to level 04 ]

[ 0/50 skill upgrade points ]

'And I have only twenty left now.'

<I think getting it to level four should be enough for you to see a clear improvement>

'I hope so.' He said subconsciously before he squatted down beside the bag of balls.

He opened the bags which contained sixteen balls and slowly began to put them into the blaster.

After putting in all of the balls, he slowly got up from the floor and set the blaster to level seven which was the toughest level, but it wasn't that much of a big deal for him now.

"I can't believe I'm going to use this skill again, I can already feel the pain in my head." He mumbled as he made his way to the goalpost after pushing the start button.

<You've leveled it up to level four, so there's no way that it's going to be like that time when it was still at level four>

'I hope so.' He said subconsciously before joining both of his hands together.

[ Focus activated ]

As soon as the skill was activated, everywhere went dark as the only things he could see were himself, the goalpost, the ball blaster, and of course, the ball which was heading toward him now.

The ball was a bit slow, but so was his movement.

Using the focus skill doesn't guarantee that one would be able to save all the balls coming his way, that was if the person lacked the speed and decisiveness to keep out balls and that was something Dave used to lack but that was no longer the case.

The goalkeeper quickly dived toward the right side and punched out the ball before it could go any further.

The ball and his movements were slow to him, but to the outside world, they were just normal.

With the skill, he was able to keep out one to fifteen balls, and just when the sixteenth ball was fired out.

[ Focus deactivated ]

That message popped up but nothing happened which was quite a surprise to him, he expected to feel something in his head even if it was a little bit of pain.

'Hey, Cat....'

Before he could finish that sentence in his mind, he felt a stinging pain in his head and slowly crashed to the floor with both of his hands on his head.

"Arghhh." He groaned with gritted teeth.
