Chapter 112: Chaos Grade talent

"Rafael... what is going on?" Alex asked, his voice was tight with urgency. The primordial lion ahead of him remained motionless, yet the pressure it emitted made retreat feel instinctive.

Rafael responded immediately, and the usual casual tone was gone.

[This thing has a supreme cosmic bloodline. I have limited information. It was captured from a region where even universal entities rarely venture. Its thought process appears disconnected from conventional dimensional constraints. Its consciousness may operate in a another dimensional reference frame where velocity in this universe becomes irrelevant.]

Alex’s throat tightened. He stared at the creature’s still pupils. It had not moved, yet the explanation alone made him uneasy. If the lion’s awareness truly functioned outside normal dimensional speed, then even his instantaneous attacks might not guarantee success.

"Can it react though?" he asked. The question escaped before he could stop himself. He was already leaning forward slightly, instinctively preparing to attack. Retreating now felt like wasting an opportunity that might never appear again.

Rafael snorted.

[It can move its eyes. That alone means there is a chance it can react. Do what you think is best. You ignored my earlier suggestion anyway.]

Alex ignored the jab. His gaze sharpened. He activated the Eyes of Revelation again, pushing the ability harder than before. His pupils glowed faintly as he focused entirely on the lion’s hidden mechanics. The world seemed to dim slightly as layers of information began surfacing.

The process was slower this time. The lion’s existence itself seemed resistant to analysis. Lines of fragmented data appeared, then vanished, then reassembled into something coherent.

Finally, the system responded.

[Note: Target possesses reactive life-force exchange. Upon sensing lethal threat, it can increase reaction speed to match the enemy by consuming life force. Maximum amplification is limited to three realms above its own level. If enemy surpasses this threshold, target cannot respond.]

Alex inhaled sharply.

Rafael had been correct.

The lion was currently at the planetary realm. Alex’s burst speed had already reached the galactic realm. The gap was exactly three realms. That meant the creature could react to him. It would not be instantaneous, but it would be enough.

"Damn my luck," Alex muttered under his breath. "And they say this is the weakest among the ten anomalous monsters."

He clenched his fist slowly. The risk was obvious. If the creature reacted, it would not strike physically. It would attack his soul directly. That type of damage bypassed most defenses. He would not die immediately, but the consequences could cripple him permanently.

But he still attacked.

He moved.

The world exploded with motion.

Boom.

Alex vanished from his position. The terrain blurred into streaks of red and black as he crossed the distance in an instant. His fist was already descending toward the lion’s skull. The speed distorted the surrounding air. Shockwaves rippled outward before he even arrived.

For a fraction of a second, victory seemed inevitable.

Then the lion’s pupils contracted.

Its eyes shifted.

The movement was small. Almost imperceptible. Yet in Alex’s accelerated perception, it felt deliberate. The golden pupils locked onto him with chilling precision.

Something invisible struck his soul.

Boom.

[Ding! Critical attack on host’s soul.]

Pain erupted inside his mind like an exploding star. It did not originate from his body. It spread from the center of his consciousness, tearing through thought and awareness simultaneously. His vision fractured. The molten terrain flickered. Sound warped into meaningless distortion.

His consciousness wavered violently.

[There is a chance of oblivion as host’s soul is not at planetary level.]

Alex felt himself slipping. His thoughts scattered. For a moment, he could not even remember why he was attacking. The world dimmed, as though someone were slowly extinguishing reality.

Then another notification appeared.

[Ding! Emergency protocol activated. Host realm pushed to Star Realm by consuming 99.9% of life force. Host has one year to live. Boost duration: ten minutes.]

The transformation was immediate.

Overwhelming strength surged through him. His perception expanded violently. The molten terrain snapped back into clarity. Heat waves slowed. The lion’s movements became sluggish. Even the drifting ash in the air seemed frozen.

Alex froze when he understood the cost.

One year.

Inside this world, that translated to barely a day outside.

Rage ignited instantly in his chest. He had 1000 years of lifespan now it reduced to 1 year only.

His eyes turned red. The earlier confusion vanished, replaced by cold fury. He was not ready to die. Not after everything he had survived. Not because of a single reckless encounter.

"Die," he said quietly.

The word left his mouth like a growl.

He abandoned all restraint.

Boom.

Alex punched forward with his full strength. Space compressed around his fist.

[Ding! You have copied Genesis level talent: Soul Destruction.]

The notification appeared the moment contact occurred.

[Ding! Soul Snatcher activated.]

The punch landed.

The primordial lion disintegrated instantly. Its body shattered into fragments of golden light before collapsing inward. The destruction was complete. No resistance. No struggle. The creature vanished as though erased from existence.

Alex activated Sofia’s talent reflexively, absorbing the essence before it could dissipate.

The battlefield fell silent.

[You have killed a Lord tier beast.]

[You gained 10000 points.]

This time the voice was different. It was the System’s voice of the trial ground.

The massive reward flooded into his system. Normally, such points required dozens of high level kills. Alex obtained them instantly.

But he did not celebrate.

The timer had already started.

Ten minutes.

He needed to maximize everything before the boost ended. Once the emergency power faded, his condition would collapse. He would become extremely weak. If he did not secure enough resources now, the sacrifice would be meaning.

"Merge the three Genesis grade telekinesis talents," he commanded immediately.

[Ding. Merging talents.]

[Ding. Three Genesis grade talents merged.]

[Ding. You obtained Chaos grade talent: Absolute Telekinetic Authority.]

Boom.

Something vast awakened inside Alex.

It was not merely stronger telekinesis. It felt fundamental, as though his will had become directly linked to matter itself. The sensation expanded outward in layers. Every object within his perception suddenly felt reachable. He felt he could manipulate their structures and make something different without touching them. It was as if the world itself had become an extension of his mind.

Alex’s eyes turned black.

Endless layers of invisible influence overlapped in his vision. The terrain no longer looked solid. Everything appeared movable. Mountains, air currents, even space it self. All of it fins pieces resting within a silent, boundless telekinetic field.

A Chaos grade talent did not belong to multiversal classification. It exceeded it entirely.

The world shifted.

"Let’s find the next boss."

He needed at least five Lord tier beasts. Only then would sacrificing his lifespan feel acceptable. Once the buff ended, survival would become difficult. He needed to capture at least five monsters before that.

He moved.

He used teleportation.

The terrain changed instantly.

Molten rivers flowed beneath cracked obsidian ground. Pillars of hardened lava rose like jagged teeth. Heat waves distorted the horizon continuously. The pressure here was far greater than the previous area.

This region housed the strongest among the ten anomalous monsters.

Alex chose the strongest first.

Boom.

A roar erupted.

It was not just sound. The vibration struck directly at the soul. The surrounding lava rippled violently. Smaller creatures hidden within the cracks fled instantly, retreating into deeper fissures.

Alex remained still.

The creature emerged slowly.

It resembled a horse, but its structure was monstrous. Two massive wings extended from its back, covered in scaled membranes. Three horns curved forward from its skull. Its face combined draconic and beastlike features, with layered fangs and burning eyes. A long scaled tail swept behind it, leaving shallow grooves in the hardened lava.

[Name: Primordial Dragon Horse]

[Talent: Absolute Domain (Genesis)]

[Rank: Planetary Level 9]

[Combat Prowess: 330000 planets]

[Gene Strength: 35x]

[Note: Within its domain, all talents below its grade are suppressed. Applies to targets up to three realms above unless enemy is multiversal entity.]

Alex narrowed his eyes.

This talent was the evolved version of his own talent, the Existential Nullity.

Soon a pressure filled the region. The air thickened. Invisible suppression spread outward from the creature. Alex felt it immediately. His other talents dulled to nullification. The connections faded as the domain sealed them. Now he knew how his enemy felt when he used his talent on them.

Only telekinesis remained active.

His Chaos grade telekinetic authority existed beyond Genesis classification. The domain could suppress lower grade abilities, but it could not interfere with telekinesis that operated at a higher tier.

He raised his hand.

Telekinesis activated.

Ptff.

Invisible pressure formed above the Primordial Dragon Horse like a collapsing sky. The space above it distorted slightly as immense telekinetic weight descended.

The creature roared and spread its wings, trying to resist. The ground beneath it shattered. Lava erupted outward. The domain intensified. Energy surged around its horns.

But it could not do anything.

The pressure continued increasing.

The telekinetic field wrapped around its entire body. Wings trembled. Muscles bulged. Its hooves sank into the cracked lava crust. The creature tried to push upward, but the invisible weight multiplied continuously.

Alex calmly tightened his control.

The Primordial Dragon Horse struggled desperately. Its horns glowed brighter as it attempted to counter the crushing force. Lava splashed outward as it forced energy through its limbs.

It changed nothing.

"Don’t resist," Alex said calmly.

His voice entered its mind directly.

The creature froze.

He tightened his grip slightly.

The Primordial Dragon Horse collapsed to one knee. Its resistance faltered. The crushing telekinetic pressure forced its body downward. Lava cracked outward beneath its hooves.

Seconds passed.

The creature’s breathing slowed. Its wings lowered. The domain weakened slightly as its energy drained.

It stopped struggling.

It surrendered.

Alex lowered the pressure slightly, stabilizing the force without killing it. He wanted it alive. Binding a Lord tier beast provided far greater benefit than killing it.

The creature remained still, its burning eyes fixed on him. The earlier hostility faded, replaced by reluctant submission.

"System, initiate the bind," Alex said calmly.
