Chapter 45: 4th level of body cultivation

"Grandmaster, can you tell me the process of creating a pill verbally? I want to know the theory first.", said Alex politely.

Nolan descended slowly until his feet touched the polished obsidian floor. The furnace behind him roared with controlled fury, its flames a deep violet tinged with gold, fire born not from wood or coal, but from five synchronized talents feeding it essence.

"Sit," Nolan said simply, gesturing toward a cushioned stool near the observation platform. Alex obeyed without hesitation. Anna remained a respectful step behind, her eyes wide as she took in the sheer scale of the chamber.

Nolan waved a hand. One of the assistants hurried forward with a silver tray. On it rested three items: a fist-sized Grade 3 beast core from a Shadowfang Panther, a bundle of dried Moonlit Ginseng roots, and a small vial of liquid milky essence.

"Today’s batch is modest," Nolan began, his voice was calm, "A mid-tier core, common spiritual herb, and auxiliary essence. In the hands of an ordinary alchemist, this would produce perhaps three or four Grade 3 Energy Condensation Pills. Worth maybe 5 million credits on the open market."

He lifted the beast core between thumb and forefinger. Black miasma visibly writhed just beneath its translucent surface, like oil trapped in crystal.

"The secret is not in the ingredients themselves," Nolan continued. "It is in how deeply you force them to surrender their potential."

"First step: structural destabilization."

"Most alchemists apply heat blindly. They burn away impurities and hope the core doesn’t collapse. That is crude. Inefficient."

"The fire must speak the same language as the bonds holding the miasma in place," Nolan explained. "Every element, every molecule, has its own resonant frequency. Find it. Shatter it selectively."

"Second step: directional extraction."

"Never let the impurities mix back in once separated. That is why most fail at higher grades. They purify eighty percent and call it success. I demand ninety-nine-point-nine."

"Third step: fusion and compression."

"Here is where true amplification occurs," Nolan said quietly. "I do not merely combine. I force synergy."

He pressed both palms together. A blinding pulse of light erupted from between his fingers.

The three essences, core, herb, essence, began to resonate at the exact same frequency. Their individual powers did not add up. They multiplied.

When the light faded, nine perfect pills floated before Nolan. Each was translucent white with a faint golden core swirling inside. Each had similar level energy as the beast core but now fully available for absorption. With one beast core, he got 9 similarly powerful pills. That was alchemy, the game changer for martial artists.

"Almost tenfold amplification," Nolan stated simply. "Not through rare ingredients. Through perfect understanding of resonance, separation, and forced unity."

Alex stared, mind racing.

Resonance to break bonds.

Selective separation of miasma.

Forced unity to multiply output.

He already possessed fire manipulation, strong enough, perhaps, to replicate the frequency destruction Nolan had just demonstrated.

He also had light manipulation.

And alchemy talent.

No one else in the world combined those three.

A hypothesis crystallized in his mind almost instantly.

If he used fire manipulation to find and shatter the resonant frequency of the dark miasma’s atomic bonds, loosening it without destroying the entire core, then he could use light manipulation to flood the core with pure photonic energy.

Dark miasma was, at its root, corrupted energy.

Light was its natural opposite.

If he flooded the loosened miasma with concentrated light, the two would annihilate each other in a chain reaction of mutual destruction, leaving only the pure beast energy behind.

But there was a problem.

Removing the miasma would create a structural vacuum. The core would collapse inward, just like his earlier attempt.

But this time he had a solution. Using a second core, or several, as supplement ingredients.

Using other cores to fill the void left by the purified miasma. Force them to bond with the each other’s framework. The bonded structure would become inherently unstable in a beneficial way: it would develop an insatiable hunger for external energy to stabilize itself.

In other words, the fused core would absorb ambient cosmic energy. It would give him a chance to use several cores at once and also the newly formed core would have more energy than the combined cores as it absorbed energy from outside too.

If he could perfect the ratio, how much miasma per core, how many cores he would need to form a perfect synchronization, something miraculous might happen.

He would be the only person alive capable of this method.

Because no one else could both burn the bonds with fire and erase the miasma with light.

Alex’s heart pounded with excitement. He memorized every motion, every shift in Nolan’s flame pattern, every timing Nolan used for creating a pill.

When the demonstration ended, Nolan turned to him.

"You saw?"

"I saw," Alex replied softly. "And I think I understand why no one else can create pills."

Alex bowed deeply.

They left the Magnus Tower in the late afternoon. Anna was quiet the entire drive home, sensing the storm of thoughts behind Alex’s calm expression.

When they arrived, Elyndros was already waiting in the underground chamber.

The room had been transformed.

A circular pool ten meters across dominated the center. Its surface shimmered crimson and gold, blood from at least seven different high-grade monsters: Crimson Wyrm, Ironback Behemoth, Thunder Roc, Void Serpent, among others. Floating herbs released faint luminescence. Serums of condensed vitality drifted like clouds beneath the surface.

Elyndros stood at the edge, arms crossed.

"Strip and enter," he said without preamble. "The Body Strengthening Scripture I’m giving you is the revised edition. Seven Revolutions Bone Forging. Each revolution tempers one aspect: skin, muscle, tendon, bone, marrow, organ, blood, meridian."

Alex accepted the scroll Elyndros handed him. He sat cross-legged on the cool stone floor and started memorising it.

It was brutal.

Beautifully brutal.

Each revolution required guiding external essence through a precise pathway while enduring escalating pain. The final three revolutions bordered on self-destruction and rebirth.

He memorized every meridian route, every pressure point, every breathing rhythm.

When he opened his eyes again, Elyndros was watching him with rare approval.

"Ready?"

Alex stood, removed his clothes without hesitation, and stepped into the blood pool.

The moment his foot touched the liquid, searing heat raced up his leg.

He sank to his waist, then sat fully submerged until only his head remained above the surface.

He closed his eyes.

Began circulating.

First revolution: Skin Tempering.

He guided the blood essence along the outermost meridian layer. Every cell in his epidermis screamed as monster blood forced its way inside, rewriting cell walls at the molecular level.

Pain like being dipped in acid.

He gritted his teeth and pushed forward.

Second revolution: Muscle Forging.

Deeper now. Fibers tore and regrew thicker, denser. His biceps, once defined, began to take on the appearance of coiled steel cables beneath the skin.

Third: Tendon Strengthening.

Invisible strings throughout his body were pulled taut, then reforged with metallic resilience.

By the fourth revolution, Bone Tempering, cracking sounds echoed from within his skeleton. Each bone was being crushed and rebuilt, calcium lattice replaced with something far harder.

Sweat mixed with blood dripped from his forehead.

Elyndros never moved. He simply observed, ready to intervene if Alex’s life force dropped too low.

This was his limit for now has he was only a martial lord level being.

When the final pulse faded, Alex rose from the pool.

Water sluiced off skin that now gleamed like polished bronze.

He looked at his defense first to see what happened.

[Strength: 2.5 Megaton

Defense: 10 Megaton]

His defense amplified more than 4times and he also got a slight boost in his strength too.
