My Infinite Cultivation System-Chapter 85: Star level combat suit
Then the defense system fired again.
More beams shot toward him with frightening speed, each one carrying destructive power that could easily erase a mountain peak.
Alex activated his talent once more.
This time the beams did not disappear completely.
The moment the invisible ripple of Existential Nullity spread outward from his body, the structure of the incoming energy beams began to collapse. The dense Star Realm energy that originally formed the attacks rapidly destabilized under the influence of his bloodline ability.
The terrifying power contained within the beams instantly dropped.
Roughly seventy five percent of the energy simply vanished as if a fundamental component of the attack had been erased from existence.
The remaining portion of the beams continued traveling toward Alex, but their velocity and destructive intensity had been drastically reduced.
They no longer carried the overwhelming pressure that had previously threatened his life.
Alex calmly extended his other hand.
Gravity twisted.
A powerful gravitational distortion formed around his palm and spread outward through the surrounding space.
The weakened energy beams immediately began to curve under the influence of this gravitational force. Their trajectories bent like flowing rivers that had suddenly encountered an invisible barrier.
Instead of striking Alex, the redirected beams slammed violently into the surrounding cliff walls.
BOOM.
BOOM.
BOOM.
Massive explosions echoed across the underground chamber as fragments of stone and metal scattered through the air.
Alex stood calmly in midair.
The ruin continued firing wave after wave of attacks without pause, but every beam that approached him either vanished under the influence of his nullification field or curved away under the precise control of his gravitational manipulation.
His smile slowly widened.
"Star Realm weapons?" he murmured quietly.
He lifted his gaze toward the maintenance tunnel above.
"Let us fight."
For the next several minutes the underground chamber transformed into a surreal battlefield.
Hundreds of energy beams were launched toward Alex in relentless succession. The ruin’s defense network operated with cold mechanical precision, continuously adjusting its targeting calculations as it attempted to eliminate the intruder.
Each beam possessed terrifying destructive potential that could easily devastate entire regions.
Yet none of them managed to reach Alex.
His Existential Nullity bloodline weakened every incoming attack before it could approach him.
His gravity manipulation redirected the remaining energy.
His teleportation ability allowed him to reposition himself whenever the situation required it.
The combination of these abilities formed an extremely efficient defensive system that even the advanced weaponry of the Mecha Race struggled to overcome.
Still, the process was far from effortless.
Alex could feel his internal energy draining rapidly as he maintained multiple high level abilities simultaneously.
His mental domain continued analyzing the battlefield while his spatial perception monitored the incoming attacks.
The strain on his mind and body steadily increased.
Slowly the minutes passed.
Twenty two minutes.
Twenty five minutes.
Twenty eight minutes.
Alex could feel exhaustion gradually creeping into his muscles. Sweat ran down his forehead and his breathing had become noticeably heavier.
However he continued enduring the assault.
Then finally Rafael’s voice appeared inside his mind.
[I have completed the analysis.]
Alex’s eyes flickered slightly.
At that moment the cannons inside the maintenance tunnel were already preparing another volley of energy beams.
The charging mechanisms hummed with growing intensity.
Just as the weapons were about to fire again, Rafael spoke once more.
[Hacking into their main server is successful.]
The effect was immediate.
The charging weapons abruptly shut down.
The glowing barrels dimmed.
The red warning lights inside the tunnel turned off one after another.
Within a few seconds the entire ruin returned to complete silence.
All incoming attacks vanished instantly.
For several seconds Alex remained floating in midair as if his brain had not fully processed what had just happened.
Then his body slowly descended toward the ground.
The moment his feet touched the stone floor his legs trembled slightly.
Alex sat down heavily on a large piece of broken rock.
He wiped the sweat from his forehead and released a long breath.
"Damn," he muttered.
"I was almost finished."
His chest rose and fell slowly as he tried to regain control of his breathing.
The silence of the underground chamber felt almost surreal after the intense battle that had taken place just moments earlier.
After a few minutes Alex lifted his head.
"Now that you have hacked into their network," he said calmly, "tell me what you found."
A brief pause followed while Rafael processed the internal data of the ruin.
Then the system responded.
[Nothing particularly extraordinary.]
Alex raised one eyebrow.
"Nothing?"
[This ruin is not a major installation.]
[According to the internal database it was originally constructed as a testing facility.]
Alex leaned back slightly while listening to the explanation.
"A testing facility?" he repeated.
[Correct.]
[It belonged to the Mecha Race.]
[Their engineers used this location to test prototype weapons and experimental equipment before transferring successful designs to large scale production factories.]
Alex nodded slowly.
"So this place was basically a laboratory."
[Yes.]
Alex rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"Even so," he continued, "a laboratory belonging to a cosmic mechanical civilization should still contain something useful."
[That is correct.]
Rafael continued explaining.
[Most of the equipment stored inside this ruin would be considered extremely advanced by current human technological standards.]
Alex’s interest increased immediately.
"Oh?"
"What kind of equipment are we talking about?"
[Primarily weapon systems.]
[Several prototype energy cannons are stored within the inner chambers.]
Alex nodded slowly.
"That is not surprising."
However Rafael continued speaking.
[The most valuable items inside the ruin are not the cannons.]
Alex’s eyes narrowed slightly.
"Then what are they?"
[Three combat battlesuits.]
Alex straightened his posture instantly.
"Battlesuits?"
[Correct.]
[These suits were experimental combat platforms designed to enhance the combat capabilities of individual soldiers.]
[Each suit contains a miniature energy core that operates at the Star Realm level.]
Alex’s eyes widened slightly.
"Star Realm?"
[Yes.]
[When worn by a compatible user, the battlesuit can temporarily elevate the wearer’s combat capability to Star Realm level.]
Alex inhaled slowly.
Even though he had already faced Star Realm level weapons during the defense system’s assault, hearing that such power could be concentrated into wearable equipment was still shocking.
"So the suits provide temporary enhancement," he said thoughtfully.
[Yes.]
[However there is an operational limitation.]
Alex folded his arms.
"Of course there is."
"What is the limitation?"
[These battlesuits are prototype models.]
[Their energy cores are not fully stabilized.]
[Each suit can maintain full combat operation for approximately ten minutes before the internal energy system begins to collapse.]
Alex stared at the cliff wall for a moment as he considered the information.
Then a grin slowly spread across his face.
"Ten minutes?"
He chuckled quietly.
"Ten minutes is already more than enough."
Alex stood up and stretched his arms as he regained his strength.
"In a battlefield," he continued, "ten minutes of Star Realm power is enough to completely change the outcome of a war."
He lifted his head and looked toward the enormous ruin gate once more.
A trace of excitement appeared in his eyes.
"Rafael."
[Yes.]
"Open the entrance."
[The entrance has already been unlocked.]
Deep within the mountain the ancient mechanical systems of the ruin began activating once again.
This time the system recognized Alex as an authorized presence.
Large sections of the structure shifted quietly as hidden doors opened throughout the facility.
Alex cracked his neck slightly and began walking toward the entrance.
"Let us go inside."
Following Rafael’s instructions, Alex entered the interior of the ruin.
He moved through several long metallic corridors that were illuminated by faint blue lights embedded within the walls. The architecture of the facility was both mechanical and strangely elegant. Smooth metal surfaces formed complex geometric patterns across every structure.
After walking for several minutes Alex finally arrived inside a large chamber.
The room was brightly illuminated.
Rows of advanced weapons were neatly arranged along the walls. Several energy cannons and mechanical devices were displayed within transparent containment fields.
At the center of the room stood three tall platforms.
On each platform rested a combat battlesuit.
One suit was red.
One suit was golden.
The final suit was black.
Each one possessed a sleek and powerful design that perfectly combined advanced engineering with combat efficiency.
Alex stopped walking.
For several seconds he simply stared at them.
A wide smile slowly appeared on his face.
"I like them already."
The suits looked far more impressive up close.
Their armor surfaces were composed of layered metallic plates that appeared both lightweight and incredibly durable. Small energy channels ran across their frames like glowing veins.
Alex slowly approached the platforms.
"Rafael," he asked, "is there any possibility that we could further develop these suits?"
[It is possible.]
[However additional data would be required.]
Rafael continued explaining.
[I will need to remain inside this facility to study the internal technology in detail.]
[In addition to technical analysis, combat data would also be necessary in order to improve the design.]
Alex nodded thoughtfully.
"Then I will gather the combat data for you."
He placed his hand on the red battlesuit and examined its structure more closely.
"How long does it take for the energy core to recharge after a full ten minute operation?"
[Approximately twenty four hours.]
Alex nodded again.
"That is acceptable."
He stepped back and looked at the three suits once more.
"Seal the ruin again after we leave," he said calmly.
"I want to explore the other ruins as well."
Then a confident smile appeared on his face.
"And before that," he added, "we will go hunting."
