My Joker System: From Low Mana Trash to the Mightiest Wizard!-Chapter 90: Monster Wars
Chapter 90: Monster Wars freёnovelkiss-com
Inside a messy, crude tent made from beast hide, bones, and tusks, a purple-skinned male humanoid with two massive black horns between his temples and forehead sat on a bone throne, sipping wine from what seemed to be a huge skull with fangs and teeth resembling those of an orc.
It gazed out the accommodation’s opening, seemingly deep in thought.
The Fellkin’s peaceful pondering soon came to an end as another of his kind, this time a female, entered, clearly not in a good mood as she knelt on one knee.
She wore a tight belly shirt and baggy pants made from beast hides, woven with some kind of mysterious, purple glowing string, her attire highlighting her toned arms and abdomen.
"Young Master Khan, the brutes have captured an unexpected offering," began the female Fellkin underling in their tongue.
The young Fellkin named Khan raised his brows.
"Hmm? Akara, based on your displeased reaction, is it a human? And let me guess, a female?"
Akara didn’t reply and simply left the tent, seemingly in a worse mood than earlier.
Khan placed his wine cup down and slowly rose from his chair.
The young Fellkin then left the tent, turning to look in the direction Akara had headed.
Soon enough, he spotted a party of ten orcs, one of them roughly dragging an unconscious, white-haired human female who appeared to be about seven or eight years younger than him.
Khan began growling like the orcs do, reprimanding the idiots for handling the human roughly.
He was in an exuberant mood, not expecting the most difficult part of his plan to fall right into his waiting arms after sensing that Liora had mana, and quite a decent amount for someone her age, though she would mostly be considered average compared to the youngsters of his race.
There was now no need to risk revealing himself and leaving the forest to capture a human wizard.
’Those old bastards of the human race are quite sensitive to our aura, after all...’
A majority of their race’s plans to invade the humans’ continent had mostly failed due to the damned humans being so watchful of their existence, somehow always managing to detect them no matter where they appeared or entered from.
Of course, there were quite a number like him who managed to slip past their eyes and had a chance to bring glory to their clan, but their actions were mostly limited.
They couldn’t move too fast or act too recklessly, as even the smallest Fell disturbance had a chance of being detected.
Then, without hesitation, the humans would dispatch mighty wizard squads, if not the so-called Magnas themselves, to quickly dispose of them.
Khan, too, might lose his life if he wasn’t careful.
He and the others who managed to sneak past the humans are tasked to activate a portal, call in a sizable number of reinforcements, and build a small, stable civilization within human territory so they can open more portals, summon more of their kind, and slowly overwhelm the enemy through sheer might.
They were, on average, stronger than humans.
So even if it was impossible to outnumber the inferior bastards in their lands, they could still win by luring the strongest protectors into a trap, as they had done with the dragonkin, taking down those dangerous few before launching a massive invasion.
’That said, female humans are indeed a sight to behold,’ mused Khan. ’I’ll have my fun with you once I complete my main objective.’
Sadly for the orc warriors, it seemed they would have to wait for their turn, and it wouldn’t come for quite some time.
Khan ordered Akara to heal Liora’s wounds before carrying her back to his tent like a princess, although he locked her in the crude metallic cell like a prisoner soon after.
The Fellkin then picked up his orc skull wine cup and resumed drinking while admiring the young human’s beauty.
’Shouldn’t be too long now...’ he smirked.

Meanwhile, in the shadows of a high oak branch, a black-haired young man stretched after a nice nap.
He was still quite close to the brute camp, but also far enough that he didn’t fear for his life.
Hal was about to climb down after rehydrating when he realized he should check the periphery first.
He quickly activated [Dark Ward] and summoned his [Spirit Sparrow], sending it off into the distance toward the troll camp.
He spotted a few more silver owls, one of which was wounded, along with other bird-type avians like hawks, all warily eyeing one another as they searched for prey in the skies.
His sparrow would likely have been detected, had the winged raptors not been too focused on watching out for surprise attacks from their rivals.
The summon soon arrived near the camp of the unknown brute race when Hal noticed something through its eyes.
’Hobgoblins!’ he exclaimed inwardly.
There was a lot, seemingly an entire scouting party.
Out of curiosity, he lowered the altitude of his summon, following a few of the smaller humanoid monsters who seemed to be heading back to their camp.
The Hobgoblin Camp was quite close to the Unknown Brute Camp, so it didn’t take long for the sparrow to arrive.
What Hal saw made him momentarily widen his eyes in shock.
"They’re assembling their forces?"
He couldn’t understand what the hobgoblin leaders were saying, but it seemed like some kind of war speech.
’Are they perhaps about to attack the brute camp?’ he wondered, watching a few moments longer to confirm they were indeed gathering their forces to head out for battle.
Hal quickly recalled the sparrow to his side.
He couldn’t afford to dally any longer and needed to reunite with Liora and Loki soon.
After all, it would be a waste not to lurk around the battlefield, as the ground would likely be littered with monster corpses filled with juicy C-ranked cores.
As the Spirit Sparrow returned, Hal pulled out the expedition device and began making his way back to track his comrades’ location.
His heart raced with a touch of excitement at the thought of scavenging.
