My Kingdom Building Done Right!-Chapter 43: The Wheel Of Fortune [Part 2]
The squirrel struck a victory pose. Maximus, Yuni, Daedalus, and the children of the tribe clapped their hands to congratulate it.
Even Leone couldn’t help but smile at the little guy’s excitement from winning a prize.
"Once I’m done using all spins, I’ll purchase anything you want from the Arcane Shop," Leone said.
*Squeak!*
The squirrel was very happy. It wanted a few things from the Arcane Shop, one of which was an Evolution Potion. Upon consuming it, Blitz would evolve to a stronger version of itself.
If it could get more, it would ask for a powerful offensive skill that complemented it.
Blitz had been a mere support in the tribal war. When Leone was in danger, it was too far to offer any help.
For this reason, it wanted to grow stronger and contribute to the offense with a ranged skill it could use to snipe its enemies, preventing them from harming its Master!
"Would you also like to give it a try, Arion?" Leone asked the Pegasus quietly watching from the side.
Arion nodded its head in confirmation, also wanting to try its luck.
"Okay, you and Maximus get one pull each," Leone said.
Maximus smiled and gave a thumbs up, while Arion walked up to the spinning wheel and raised its hoof.
The wheel had small metal bars that could be grasped for spinning, and Arion’s hoof pressed down on one of them.
A familiar tune played as it spun. This time, Blitz danced alongside its tune, cheering for Arion to win a prize.
’I hope Arion doesn’t get disappointed if it doesn’t win anything,’ Leone thought. ’I can just appease it with a carrot after it gets a dud.’
When the spinning wheel slowed down, the pointer seemed to stop at a black skull. Just as Leone was about to pat the horse’s neck, another tick sound reached his ear.
The pointer had stopped at the armor symbol, making Arion neigh and Blitz squeak happily.
"What the..." Leone didn’t know what kind of black magic or sorcery had happened just now. However, since its loyal and trusted mount won, he decided to congratulate it instead.
"Congratulations, Arion!" Leone said, and the Pegasus nudged the side of its face with its snout. Clearly, it was also very happy with its win.
Since the pointer stopped at the armor slot, Arion asked for a horseshoe.
Daedalus confirmed there were Rare Horseshoes available in the Arcane Shop, which made Arion very happy.
This time, Maximus stepped up. It was fired up after seeing two of its friends win a prize.
It was about to spin when Ulric arrived at the cave. He looked at the colorful thing he had never seen before. Seeing his confusion, Yuni quickly explained what was happening.
She even bragged about winning a weapon exchange ticket, which she planned to use to get a more powerful bow for her personal use.
Ulric found it interesting, so he crossed his arms and watched as Maximus spun the wheel.
Blitz jumped on top of Arion’s head and started to dance, cheering for its friend to also win a prize.
This time, the pointer stopped at the weapon slot, which made Maximus do a fist pump like what Blitz did earlier. The two even exchanged high fives. Still watching the spectacle, the children also clapped their hands to congratulate the white kobold.
"Is it that easy?" Ulric blinked. "I thought the chances of getting a prize were abysmal. It seems like anyone can do it."
"It’s not like everyone can win a prize, Sir Ulric," Leone said. "In fact, how about you give it a spin too? I have a few more chances, so I’ll give you one of them."
"I’ll happily take your offer, Leone," Ulric grinned as he, too, spun the wheel.
Leone wanted someone else to know what it felt like to land on that ugly skull, so he didn’t hesitate to give Yuni’s father a chance. That way, if he got a dud, he would no longer be able to say that it was easy to get a prize from the Wheel of Fortune.
’Surely, I’m not the only one with bad luck!’ Leone clenched his fists as he looked at the spinning wheel. It was starting to slow down. ’I mean, we have consecutive wins as of late. There’s no way that we can get this lucky, right?!’
As the spinning wheel lost its momentum, the pointer went to the skull territories.
He was about to say the words "See? It’s not easy to win!" when the pointer stopped at the 1,000 BP Mark.
Ulric and Blitz won the same prize, making Leone scratch his head in disbelief.
"Four wins in a row?!" Leone gasped in shock. "Does this mean that the wheel has already used up all the luck it has today?!"
There were still eleven chances left to spin the wheel, so Leone decided to go all out.
But every time he spun the wheel, it always stopped on the skull mark.
After ten more tries, Leone still won nothing. He was close to crying. Even Yuni and Ulric felt so bad about Leone’s bad luck that they offered to give them their prizes instead.
"It’s fine..." Leone sighed as he decided to call it a day. But Daedalus reminded him that there was one more chance left.
Thinking it wouldn’t really matter, Leone decided to just spin the wheel to get it over with. Just as he was about to hold the handle of the wheel, Blitz squeaked and jumped on Leone’s arm.
It then put its little hand over its Master’s hand, as if to share its luck with him. Maximus did the same, while Arion rested its head on Leone’s shoulder.
"You guys..." Leone felt touched, moved by the support his Familiars gave him.
"I’ll share some of my luck, too," Yuni said as she, too, placed her hand over Leone’s and Blitz’s. "You’ll need all the luck you can get."
Ulric chuckled but didn’t want to get in the way of this touching moment, so he simply stood with his arms crossed over his chest.
With everyone’s support, Leone spun the wheel one last time.
He didn’t get his hopes up because he was already satisfied with the prizes that his friends had won.
Although he didn’t win anything, as long as everyone was happy, he would be content as well.
It was then that a different music sounded from the spinning wheel. Instead of the sad trombone and the victorious trumpet, a pleasant ring of the bell echoed inside the cave, making Leone look at the spinning wheel he had given up on.
The pointer had stopped on the [???] symbol, which made Blitz almost fall off Arion’s head. Its Master got the jackpot prize!
"Huh?!" Leone stood in disbelief because colorful lights were coming out of the spinning wheel. A moment later, an orb of golden light flew toward Leone and hovered in front of him.
The young man then reached out to grab it, wondering what kind of prize he got from the wheel.
When the light receded, the young man noticed a silver whistle resting on the palm of his hand. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
Rows of text then appeared, telling him the name of the whistle and its effect, which made Leone’s eyes widen in shock.
