My Kitsune System-Chapter 27: Main Event

It won't be sad to be a demon slayer though. I may even later up my rank and become a god slayer. But before that, let's make this one bleed first. Dan thought as a crooked smile was fully formed on his face.

"Come get me"

Before Dan could blink, the demon was gone from his sight. Dan now stared at a blank space before him.

The hairs on his neck rose, Dan tilted his head a bit. But that was enough just to save his head from being chopped off.

Dan placed his hand on his neck. The realization of almost being beheaded started settling in. His heart started pounding profusely.

wow, it was not as easy as I had expected.

Dan then began to chuckle.

"What's funny?" the demon asked.

"Nothing" Dan replied.

"It's just that this might be the last time I get to live but then I am not going all out" Dan laughed.

"So, let's make it count"

As he spoke these words, his hands began to glow. His hands turned to kind of claws.

"Now, that's more fun"

Boom!!!

The demon moved again...

This time he headed straight for Dan. The demon's sword came down straight on Dan's head.

Dan placed his hands above his head to block the incoming attack.

Clang!!!

Dan's hand and the blade clashed, but unlike before Dan wasn't pushed back. Still, in a defensive position, Dan saw the demon whip a kick to his ribs. He was still caught in between the blade and the demon's foot and so he couldn't escape.

Bam!!!

Dan was knocked in the ribs and pushed to the side. For a while, he lay on the floor unmoving. His face was grim behind the mask. From his lips dripped blood.

His ribs burnt with pain, he felt like touching them but he was too sure he would get a crunchy feeling when he did.

Dan's senses tingled, he then tilted his head to the side. Immediately where his head was before had a blade struck there.

Dan rolled away from the demon. He tried to look at the demon but then he noticed he couldn't see the flow of his energy.

It doesn't matter if we can see the flow or not.

Dan moved, closing the distance between him and the demon within mere seconds. His ninefold claws lashed out at the demon with so much aggression.

Clanks were just heard every now and then as the demon blocked and evaded all of Dan's attacks. With Dan not getting a successful hit.

But then a hit was not what Dan was looking for... It was something else.

The demon was being pushed back by Dan. With Dan's plus-five stat, his strength had increased, and was now at a whopping 46.

As Dan had put him in a tight spot. Dan brought down his claws heavily on the blade. The force was so great that it had brought the demon down on one knee.

That was all Dan needed. With the demon down, Dan descended barrage of attacks on it. Not giving the demon any breathing space.

Dan was able to now land some attacks on the demon's shoulder, but he never dealt any real damage on the demon. But he had achieved something else though.

He had successfully made the demon pissed.

"Enough" it roared, it released a pressure that push Dan back. The demon got up, its face was twisted with anger.

It picked up its blade, with one hand on the handle while the other hand was on the blade.

The demon gently slide his hand over the blade, his blood spilling on it. A dark aura rising on the blade but not only that, it seemed the blade was hungry and it was devouring space itself.

As Dan stood watching the blade devour the space around them. The demon spoke some words and shot something toward Dan.

Though it shot out too fast for naked eye to see it. Dan was able to tilt backward. His back going down low, almost reaching the floor. The tiny ball that was shot out, whizzed past him.

Barely missing Dan with a hairs length. It feel behind Dan and made the shadows ripple.

Woah, that was a close one.

Dan got up and saw the demon walking calmy toward him. As he did he noticed he was chanting some words...

At first he had not noticed it...

He hadn't noticed the effects of the words he was chanting...

But the he did...

He noticed the space between him and the demon was closing at a fast pace. It was like the shadows themselves were pulling Dan toward the demon.

No matter how he stepped back he still for himself getting closer to the demon.

Since meeting him, it's inevitable. Why don't we just go meet him

Voom!!!

Dan rushed toward the demon, he noticed the distance kept increasing. Like he hadn't moved an inch.

What? what's going on?

Dan stopped to understand what was going on.

So it's seems he has made the world inverted. Let's do this then.

Dan started moving away from him. But then he noticed the distance between wasn't reducing but increasing instead.

He changes and makes this shadow space do his bidding. Seems I have to wait and see what he does.

Dan didn't stood still.

When the demon was just a few steps away from Dan. He stopped and looked at Dan.

Like a flash he wasn't a few steps a way from Dan but was heading for Dan with his hands out stretched.

I should be able to escape his grasp.

Dan tried to tilt and move out the way. But his body wasn't moving. It was something had grabbed his leg and wasn't allowing him to move anymore.

Dan looked down and he noticed something held his foot in place.

As he looked at what it was... it was actually what the shot out.

He was immersed in looking at the demon that he had not noticed that, the demon had navigated the room and made Dan head toward it.

It had grown tendrils that tied Dan's foot down.

And now it was too late for Dan to run away, the demon was already on him. It placed it's hand on Dan's shoulder.

"Not laughing now are we?"

With those words, it pushed its blade into Dan's belly. Slowly, the demon drove the blade in.

"arh" Dan roared. His voices echoing through the shadow realm.

But that was the tip of the ice berg....

The main event was coming....

Life essence is being drained...
