Chapter 607: Extra 020 Loved the Same Way, But Completely Different Interactions (First Update)

Yin Qin watched as Mu Cidian descended the stairs, then glanced at Ji Baili who had just walked in from outside.

A malicious smile crept across his face.

He shifted his gaze to Xin Zaozao, who clearly also saw the two people now.

There was no need to guess. He intentionally orchestrated this situation.

She was just surprised. How did Mu Cidian get in touch with Yin Qin?

Based on her understanding of Mu Cidian, he wouldn’t take the initiative to contact these people. But of course, it’s not entirely impossible. Maybe Mu Cidian has more ambition and vengeful tendencies than she realized.

Didn’t he once say it himself?

After experiencing certain things, pride becomes less important.

As she thought these things, she maintained her composure.

Yin Qin frowned.

Xin Zaozao really had a strong mindset; she remained unruffled despite the complicated situation unfolding before her.

Contrarily, it was the two men who appeared taken aback upon seeing each other in Xin Zaozao’s company.

Still, everyone in the room knew this was all Yin Qin’s deliberate arrangement.

Ji Baili shifted his gaze away from Mu Cidian.

He had actually forgotten that Mu Cidian had been released from prison.

Time truly spares no one.

Nonchalantly, he walked towards the sofa and picked up the little tiger in Yin Qin’s arms. “Did you miss your uncle?” he asked.

“Yes.” The little tiger’s tender voice echoed, his smile beaming bright.

At this moment, Mu Cidian and Luo Xiaolang descended the stairs together.

Seeing his mother, the little tiger reached out to be held.

Luo Xiaolang picked up the little tiger.

Mu Cidian stood awkwardly by the side.

He walked over to Yin Qin, lowered his voice and said, “Xiaolang and I have sorted everything out. I’m leaving now.”

“What do you mean you’re leaving?” Yin Qin grabbed Mu Cidian’s arm before he could go.

Mu Cidian frowned.

Yin Qin didn’t care about Mu Cidian’s reluctance and made him sit on the sofa.

Xin Zaozao sat beside him. To Zaozao’s side was Ji Baili who had moved over to sit next to her. Luo Xiaolang, holding the little tiger, was on another sofa while Yin Qin sat next to Mu Cidian.

Upon sitting down, Mu Cidian glanced at Xin Zaozao.

He noticed her focus was on Ji Baili. She initiated the conversation, “Do you know when your elder brother and Zhizhi will arrive?”

“I’ll give them a call now,” Ji Baili promptly offered.

“Okay.” Xin Zaozao responded with a faint smile.

It was clear that she preferred to have more people around to alleviate some awkwardness, even if she didn’t show it.

Mu Cidian just sat there, offering neither words nor expressions.

Yin Qin, sensing Mu Cidian’s discomfort, tried to engage him in conversation, “Mu Cidian, would you like some sunflower seeds?”

“No.”

“Fruit?”

“No.”

“TV?”

“No.”

“Then what would you like to do?” Yin Qin asked, finding Mu Cidian’s obstinacy challenging.

“I’d like to leave,” Mu Cidian replied once again.

“Where are you going? Who leaves before having dinner!” Yin Qin objected, “It’ll be so boring without you!”

With that, he let out a chuckle.

Xin Zaozao shot Yin Qin a reproachful look.

This guy, always stirring up trouble!

“What are you looking at? You should be thanking me! Look at you, all grown up and still single! Look at my little Xiaolang, four or five years younger than you and already able to handle household chores. Now let’s talk about Song Zhizhi, who is your age. Their little Lizhi can already run around! I care so much for you and yet you’re still alone. So, I invited your ex-boyfriend and your previous boyfriend. Choose one and be done with it!” Yin Qin reasoned sincerely.

“There was no previous boyfriend,” Xin Zaozao corrected Yin Qin’s words.

She and Mu Cidian were never officially together.

“So you’ve chosen your ex-boyfriend then?” Yin Qin suggested mischievously, “Ji Baili, aren’t you going to say something?”

Ji Baili had just finished a phone call.

Unusually, he addressed Yin Qin, turning his attention to Xin Zaozao, “My elder brother said he has some matters to attend to tonight. Lizhi has a slight cold, so my sister-in-law is unable to leave him and come.”

Xin Zaozao felt a tinge of disappointment.

At this moment, she really wanted to leave.

“If they can’t come then so be it.” Yin Qin seemed indifferent, “Anyway, they weren’t the ones I wanted to invite tonight.”

“Xiaolang.” Ji Baili suddenly called out to Luo Xiaolang.

Luo Xiaolang, who was playing with the little tiger, looked up at Ji Baili.

“Keep your distance from Brother Yin Qin in the future.”

“Hmm?” Luo Xiaolang was surprised.

“I worry that he might get you into trouble.” Ji Baili stated seriously.

“Okay.” Luo Xiaolang nodded in agreement.

Yin Qin was not pleased, “Luo Xiaolang, whose wife are you after all, listening to Ji Baili!”

Luo Xiaolang shot a glance at Yin Qin.

Yin Qin immediately capitulated, “As long as you’re happy.”

Xin Zaozao couldn’t help but laugh off to the side.

Yin Qin now played up to Luo Xiaolang ridiculously, even more exaggerated than how Ji Baijian treated Song Zhizhi back then.

And so it was.

Their child was almost 4 years old now, but Yin Qin and Luo Xiaolang were still unmarried.

Yin Qin’s marriage proposals had not been less than 100 times, but each time ended in failure. Apparently, he tried everything, but Luo Xiaolang simply would not yield!

Just then.

A servant came in, bowing respectfully, “Young master, the meal is ready.”

Yin Qin nodded.

He then told the others, “Let’s eat!”

Having said that, he got up and led the way.

The others followed.

The little tiger was also brought aside by the servant to have his meal, Yin Shi had also woken up, and both were eating their nutritious meals in another small dining room.

At this table, Yin Qin intentionally seated Xin Zaozao between Mu Cidian and Ji Baili.

He watched the three of them with interest, but all three looked extremely calm, showing none…none of the sparks that he wanted to see.

“Why don’t you three have a toast? It’s rare that you’re all gathered here,” Yin Qin suggested deliberately.

Fate?!

Don’t you mean you called all of us here?!

Ji Baili gave Yin Qin a cold glance, turning his head this time towards Mu Cidian, “How long have you been out of jail?”

“A few months.”

“What are you doing now?”

“Unemployed.”

“Interested in joining Jihong Group?” Ji Baili forthrightly offered.

Mu Cidian was taken aback.

Not only was Mu Cidian surprised, so were the others at the table.

Ji Baili, sensing everyone’s gazes on him, smiled slightly, “Why would I let go of such a talented individual like Mu Cidian?”

Yin Qin put down his chopsticks, slapping his forehead in realization, “Why didn’t I think of that? Mu Cidian, come join my Yin He company, I’ll make you general manager!”

Mu Cidian put down his chopsticks at this point too.

He gave a forced smile, “Thank you both for your kindness. I’ve been in prison for so long, I can’t keep up with the pace of today’s world. I appreciate your good intentions.”

“I am serious. If you are interested, feel free to contact me at any time.” Ji Baili impressed upon him sincerely.

“I’m serious too.” Yin Qin added.

“Yin Qin, can’t you just cool it?” Ji Baili was genuinely exasperated with Yin Qin.

“So you’re allowed to poach but not me? On top of that, I’m desperately hoping for someone to help me run the company.”

“So you can have all the free time in the world, right?” Ji Baili quipped.

“Ji Baili, you have become overconfident. You dare to disrespect your brother. Me, idle? I hope to spend more time with my wife and child, something a single dog like you wouldn’t understand.”

“…” Ji Baili was speechless.

So what if he was a single dog, he was proud of it!

The dinner was lively with Yin Qin around.

After dinner, Yin Qin stubbornly asked them to stay, asking them to have some tea and chat about the past.

A few of them sat in the tea room, chatting about all sorts of things.

In fact, it was mostly Yin Qin who was talking, and Ji Baili would occasionally join in to argue with him. Xin Zaozao would sometimes chime in. Only Mu Cidian, who stayed quiet throughout the evening.

Luo Xiaolang sensed Mu Cidian’s unease.

She said to Mu Cidian, “If you feel uncomfortable, you can leave first, don’t mind Yin Qin.”

Mu Cidian looked at Luo Xiaolang.

In that moment, he looked at Xin Zaozao, and saw how naturally she interacted with Ji Baili.

Both had been in love once.

But he and Xin Zaozao seemed unable to go back to the way things were.

He got up, thanked Luo Xiaolang and left.

Xin Zaozao seemed to glance at him, and chose to remain silent.

Meanwhile, Ji Baili, while Yin Qin and Xin Zaozao were busy chatting, took this opportunity to catch up with Mu Cidian.
