My Level Zero System-Chapter 245: The final moves (5)
Chapter 245: Chapter 245: The final moves (5)
Facing two formidable opponents, even Cody was under immense pressure.
Kain, it went without saying, with what he had shown, was undoubtedly the most dangerous opponent for Cody. Now, with the addition of Mera, who was by no means weak, Cody could practically foresee his own defeat.
But he didn’t show any fear or hesitation because of it.
All he did was to help his team, the people he cherished most, and the one who had saved him from suffering, achieve victory.
This scene, to him, was not so different from many years ago.
Back then, at a certain harbor, two boys and a girl lived together, relying on each other. They fought every day to survive, to eat, to drink, to sleep. They fought amidst suffering, in the uncertain haze of the future.
Until, that person appeared.
A saint with golden hair, a saint in a pure and childlike form, yet his eyes were as deep as the sea. A saint who gave them a reason to look towards the future.
Other fools saw him as a monster, but they, his most loyal subordinates, had never doubted him.
Cody looked at Faith. So much time had passed, and the understanding between them was already clear; sometimes, just a glance was enough.
And Faith nodded.
Immediately, Cody roared.
Veins bulged on his body, distending beneath his tanned skin. Energy began to fluctuate; magic was being activated.
It was clear that Cody intended to unleash some sort of trump card.
He looked at Kain, wondering what emotion Kain would display. Would it be shock? Or perhaps emotional fear?
But no.
All he saw was Kain’s cold gaze, not like a psychopath who had lost the ability to empathize, but the calm stillness of a hunter precisely aiming at its prey.
For Cody, this battle was no different from the life-anddeath struggles at the harbor years ago.
For Kain, this battle was no different from the first time he drew his bow on a rabbit.
Therefore, Kain’s ultimate goal was always to eliminate the enemy!
Without giving Cody a chance to unleash his trump card, Kain immediately used [Thunder Flash] and [Enhancement Body] combined with [Enhancement Magic] to surge forward. A swirling fireball appeared in his hand, and at the same time, Kain’s voice reached Mera’s ears.
"Mera, fight in the air. Leave the ground to me."
Seeing this, Mera didn’t think much and quickly used [Fly] to take to the air and charge forward.
Just before Kain could unleash his attack, Cody stomped his foot hard on the ground. In that instant, the entire ground shook. From the center of Cody’s foot, a twenty-meter radius sinkhole appeared, blasting huge chunks of earth and rock upwards. This widespread impact even affected Kain, though luckily he was currently in his fastest and most reactive state, allowing him to barely dodge in time. However, the fireball he had prepared wasn’t quick enough to attack.
As Cody plunged into the sinkhole and leaped out again, he was enveloped by a colossal Golem, similar in size to the previous ones, but this Golem appeared to be covered in an additional thick layer of armor.
"[Earth Golem] combined with [Earth Armor]?"
Kain frowned.
The fireball he had just unleashed exploded on Cody, causing a minor depletion in his armor. But instantly, minute soil particles from below surged up, restoring the armor to its original state in a flash.
"So that’s it..."
Kain thought to himself. He now understood the nature of Cody’s trump card.
It was a type of magic skill combination that maintained continuous performance.
Here, Cody integrated [Earth Golem] and [Earth Armor], essentially transforming himself into an unstoppable weapon with insane levels of strength, speed, and durability. What’s more, the armor constantly regenerated as long as he could maintain this state.
This was quite similar to the lightning network magic combination Kain was familiar with.
In this state, Cody could even contend with Cecilia!
"Damn it!"
Mera cursed aloud. In that very moment, she even had the illusion that she was facing Cecilia!
Of course, only Cecilia before she lost consciousness and entered battle instinct. But this was too crazy, wasn’t it?
Suddenly, Mera’s eyes constricted, as Cody, with his colossal body, charged towards Kain at an unbelievable speed.
"Kain, look out!"
Ploughing a trench in the ground, Cody, in his massive body, lunged towards Kain in a flash, his huge hand reaching out as if about to crush Kain. But Kain was also currently in a super-speed state.
Just as he was about to be crushed, Kain subtly shifted his heel, precisely stepping back to dodge the squeeze.
At the same time, the lightning around him flared, scattering countless bolts like spiderwebs. Finally, they swirled into large spirals, forming [Thunder Spears] that pierced the Golem’s body.
Mera, hovering in the air, was not idle. She screamed, but this was no ordinary scream; it was the magic skill [Air Scream]. The vibration of matter spread and dispersed, aiming to directly strike Cody within the Golem.
However, Cody remained unfazed.
The [Thunder Spears] that struck his Golem body were stopped by the armor. Although their explosive force was considerable, Kain’s activation time for the magic was too short, preventing the magic skill from reaching its full potential.
His armor also immediately regenerated.
Mera’s attack, though powerful, was not an omnipotent magic skill. While sound can transmit through all objects, it continuously loses power when encountering the dense, compacted layers of earth and rock that form the Golem and its armor. Ultimately, the damage Cody sustained was negligible.
At this moment, Cody seemed to have become an invincible entity.
Magi could potentially pierce his defenses with magic, but that would require time, and Cody wouldn’t allow that time to pass. Gradual attrition tactics also wouldn’t work, as Cody’s armor constantly regenerated.
How could Kain not see the current situation?
Against the current Cody, most likely only Cecilia would be capable of suppressing and defeating him. This is because Cecilia, in addition to possessing supreme swordsmanship, also had unparalleled speed and attack power.
Kain sighed. If he had upgraded his mid-class magic skill [Mind Disturbed] from [Spirit Magic], this situation might have been easier.
However, now was not the time for regret or lament, as Cody’s next attack was already upon them.
