My Life As The First S-Class Guide-Chapter 299: MADE FOR EACH OTHER
RAMPAGE.
To be honest, Wonhee wasn’t surprised when Hwang Frost eventually reached his breaking point.
After all, the S-Class Hunter just took down World Rankers.
Now I remember how Hwang Frost-ssi got his "stage name."
Wonhee opened her hands, catching the snowflakes falling from the dark sky.
It had been snowing for almost a week now.
And it was snowing too much.
If it didn’t stop, then the entire country would be buried in snow.
In fact, Seoul was literally freezing.
Civilians had to be evacuated in other cities since their capital had been turned into a giant ice museum.
And the cause?
It was Hwang Frost, sitting on the rooftop of the only skyscraper in Seoul that had remained standing.
"Should I knock him out?"
Wonhee turned to Song Moonhoo.
Just like her, the older Hunter was looking up at the building where Hwang Frost was.
"This Rampage is different than the last Rampage that he had years ago," Song Moonho said. "Back then, he lost his mind and wanted to destroy everything and kill everyone. But, this time, he’s "calm." Having said that, I must admit that making it snow so much while freezing everything around him is just as dangerous as going on a killing spree."
Wonhee nodded in agreement. "I know this may sound twisted, but this kind of Rampage is beautiful."
It was as if the entire world had turned white.
And since the World Rankers had stopped attacking their country, everything had turned quiet.
I wouldn’t mind it if the world will end this way.
Even so, she still had a duty to fulfill.
"I’ll try and guide Hwang Frost-ssi."
"You will?" Song Moonho asked, surprised. "I wish you good luck then, Wonhee-ssi. Before Hwang Yejun lost his mind, he never found a Guide with which he could be compatible."
"Then I’ll try to be that kind of existence for Hwang Forst," Wonhee said, smiling sadly. "I need to be more useful."
And I need to "tame" Hwang Frost before I die.

"DON’T COME too close, Chu Wonhee-ssi— I’m not sure when I’ll lose my mind completely."
Wonhee heard Hwang Frost’s warning, but she sat next to him anyway.
Of course, she put a decent space between them.
"You’re not afraid of heights?"
"I used to be, but not anymore," Wonhee said, looking down below her while she and Hwang Frost sat on the railing of the skyscraper. If she was the old crybaby Wonhee, she would have thrown up already. But after experiencing two apocalypse, she was already unfazed. "Hwang Frost-ssi, you realize that you’re on a Rampage, don’t you?"
"Yes," Hwang Frost said, his voice sounded calm. "I wonder if I’m powerful enough to submerge the entire country in snow. If I could use my entire power to freeze the world, I’d do it. Don’t you think it’s a beautiful way to end this world?"
Pfft.
Wonhee couldn’t help but laugh softly while shaking her head. "I was actually thinking about the same thing just now, Hwang Frost-ssi."
"You did?"
"I thought the world would end beautifully if you freeze us all to death."
"It seems like experience the world almost end twice took away your fears, Wonhee-ssi."
"You can say that."
"Then what scares you now?"
Wonhee paused for a moment, not because she was thinking how to answer that— but because she was surprised that she already had an answer to that question.
I didn’t know my chest is full of hatred.
"The only thing that scares me now is seeing Lee Seodam win," Wonhee confessed in a soft voice. "That bastard wants to see the world burn. But I don’t want that— I want the world to return to normal."
"What kind of "normal" are we talking about here?"
"A world without Cracks, Hunters, and Guides."
"That sounds like a distant past," Hwang Frost said, smiling bitterly. "I can no longer remember the world without all those shit. After all, I awakened as a Hunter the first day of the first apocalypse."
Right.
Hwang Frost was one of the original Big 4.
The Hunters who awakened as S-Class have always been more special than the rest.
"Would you hate it if the world returns to normal, Hwang Frost-ssi?"
"Why do you ask?"
"Because you’re special as a natural S-Class Hunter— and you’re the strongest," Wonhee said carefully. She was being careful because she knew that even though Hwang Frost sounded and looked calm, he was still on the verge of a Rampage. "You’ve lived your life as a high-ranking Hunter ever since the apocalypse started. But, if the world returns to normal, you’ll be no longer needed as a Hunter. I just thought you’d hate that."
"I hate being a Hunter, though."
"You do?!"
"Why do you look shocked?"
Oh, right.
"The person who started the second apocalypse... he loves being a Hunter a little too much," Wonhee said awkwardly. "He hated the thought of the world returning to normal. After all, if that happens, then his life will also return to normal. And he dreaded that." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"That pathetic person sounds like a loser."
"He is."
"Well, I’m not pathetic."
Pfft.
"I was born handsome and smart," Hwang Frost said confidently. "I know I’ll do well whatever I choose to do once I retire as a Hunter."
Wonhee couldn’t help but laugh.
It might sound arrogant of Hwang Frost, but since he had the face and the skills to back up his claim, it just sounded like he was stating a fact.
And he is.
"Sure, being a Hunter was fun. I didn’t always hated it. However, in the long run, it gets tiring. I maybe mentally unstable, but I’m not crazy enough to want a life where I slowly turn into nothing but a killing machine," Hwang Frost said, pausing for a moment. "So, if I have the chance to turn this world back to normal, I’ll grab it with both my hands."
"Then grab it," Wonhee said, offering both of her hands to Hwang Frost. "I’m the chance you’re looking for, Hwang Frost-ssi."
"Oh, right. You and your friends are working hard to return this world to normal."
"We need your help," Wonhee said, and then she paused and shook her head. "I need your help, Hwang Frost-ssi."
"You need me?"
"I’m a Guide— I need a powerful Hunter by my side."
Hwang Frost raised an eyebrow at her. "Are you proposing to me?"
"What if I am?"
"You’re making me shy with your straightforwardness, Wonhee-ssi."
"Well, we’re running out of time here."
"You’re lucky I have nothing better to do with my time," Hwang Frost said, holding Wonhee’s hands. "I hope you don’t faint while guiding me, Wonhee-ssi."
Pfft.
"Don’t worry, Hwang Frost-ssi," Wonhee said, smiling confidently. "I bet everything I have to be your Guide."
***
"WONHEE-ya~"
Hmm?
Wonhee had always seen Hwang Frost as a wolf— cold and aloof.
But now...
Isn’t he a golden retriever?
"I killed three more World Rankers today," Hwang Frost said cheerfully, opening his arms. "I need to recharge."
"Are you getting addicted to my Guiding?"
"Your touch feels good, Wonhee-ya."
Aigoo.
"If my older siblings heard you, they’ll kill you."
Hwang Frost’s smile instantly disappeared. "I can’t believe you’re the younger sister of Soobin Hyung and Semi Noona. Those two treated me like a punching bag in the past."
Right.
Wonhee chuckled while shaking her head, and then she allowed Hwang Frost to wrap his arms around her. "Hwang Frost-ssi, thank you for helping us."
"If you’re really thankful, then call me by my real name."
"Yejun-ssi?"
"Can you just talk comfortably to me since we’re the same age anyway?"
"I’m mentally older than you since you were stuck in ice for so long. You should be calling me ’noona.’"
"Yah."
Wonhee smiled.
She didn’t want to admit this, but she had been smiling a lot ever since Hwang Frost came back— something that she wasn’t able to do after everything that she had gone through.
"Yejun-ah."
"That sounds better," Hwang Yejun said, hugging Wonhee tighter. "Let’s save the world and stay together, Wonhee-ya. Even if the world returns to normal, I have a feeling that I’d still want to be with you."
Aww.
Wonhee wanted to tease Hwang Yejun but, suddenly, a painful pang in her chest almost made her faint.
Maybe she did faint because the Hunter suddenly yelled her name worriedly.
She felt dizzy, like her world was literally crumbling.
"Wonhee-ya!"
CRAAACK.
That was the sound of Wonhee’s heart cracking open.
Ah, the portal is almost ready.
