Chapter 110: Heal Her First

Claire didn’t want to believe it. She refused to believe that the worst possibility was manifesting right in front of her eyes, but the proof was obvious.

She took a deep breath to calm herself down, reminding herself that they could still overload the minotaur’s brain with pain if they lock in for 12 more seconds– well, 10 now.

Time was ticking by and they didn’t have any left to waste, as she bent her knees and lunged at the monster.

He was still huffing the dark breaths, eyes closed shut and muscles drenched in his own blood.

Claire was looking for the moment to take advantage of it, her eyes flickering over the battlefield to check the conditions of her teammates when she saw Katie rushing at the minotaur from the opposite side.

Her throwing hatchets were stashed back, a sleek and slim sword now gracing her hands.

She had the same idea as Claire, to kill the beast before he could go completely berserk.

With each step onto the cracked rubble and destroyed floor, she inched closer and closer to the damaged beast.

His eyes were still closed, literal fire coming out of his nostrils as he clenched his hands into a firm fist.

There was no need for a weapon. His body IS the weapon.

Katie reached her destination before his eyes could flutter open, her sword arching in the air beautifully, whistling as the air was cut and momentum was gained.

But at the end moment... everything changed.

Minotaur’s battle instincts took over, his clenched fist shooting at the incoming sword, shattering the expensive metal before sending Katie flying with a single punch.

The sword left shallow cuts on the knuckles, something that greatly pained the minotaur but he didn’t care. Pain was temporary but power was eternal.

With another warcry rumbling out of his throat, he stood straight.

His eyes slowly opened, still reddened and even more bloodshot as he searched for his enemies, looking around frantically to search for them.

But unluckily for him, none of them were visible... Except for one.

The woman he punched.

She barrelrolled against the shattered buildings, her muscles getting bruised as she collided and skidded on the rough asphalt.

Her skin developed countless smaller rashes and cuts, and she herself was wheezing, coping from the aftermath of that brutal punch.

She tried to maneuver herself, twisting herself in the air to minimize the blow to her vitals as she used her high agility to its highest potential.

But regardless of the amount of her agility, the blow was too strong and it took her a good couple seconds to regain her bearings...

And when she finally stopped, her eyes went wide seeing the giant monster running towards her.

He was slower than her, but his size worked to his advantage, since one leap of his was equal to many leaps of hers.

Katie looked around, searching for her teammates, the fear of death quickly washing over her when she saw the tightened fist of the muscular humanoid bull.

However before she could dive deeper into the woes and witness the light at the end of the tunnel, she suddenly felt something yanking her backwards.

The minotaur’s fist collided with the asphalt road, causing it to break even more than it already was.

"Fucking get your shit together, bitch!" Jaq’s threatening, low voice snapped at Katie who was getting dragged by a thin metallic string.

The string did tighten around Katie, causing her slight pain when it dug into her wounds, but being alive and in pain was much better than dying under a berserk minotaur’s fist.

Claire appeared behind the minotaur, jumping off the rooftop of a building as she launched an aura blade at the monster’s open back before rolling on the roof of another building and hiding within it.

Her eyes landed on her watch, sighing when she heard it beep in a low volume.

The time was already up. Aaron’s skill had already ended and now they had a berserk, enraged monster on their tail.

And as she expected, a huge fist landed on the building she was hiding in, causing its balance to tip and for the gravity to shift as the building began to fall backwards from a single punch.

But of course, Claire was prepared for it.

She began running against a wall and silently dove out of a cracked window, using some of her mana to strengthen her leap and head towards another building.

"TAAUUUUUR"

The minotaur screamed in rage when he saw Claire running away, but with her utilizing the environment to her advantage, there was nothing he could do to catch her.

When he punched, a concrete building came in between which only made his knuckles hurt and caused more destruction.

And when he dashed at her, she utilized her agility and smaller size to go through the buildings which he couldn’t enter.

Aaron grit his teeth, watching from his hiding spot as his girlfriend kept taking the minotaur on a rat chase.

He wanted to help her, but he could only sigh with frustration when he realized that he couldn’t.

His skill was on cooldown for the next 10 minutes and the only other skill he possessed couldn’t really be activated on a muscular tall minotaur.

Even if he wanted to do something using the skill, he doubted that the buff bull would be down for it.

Eva was also under the similar restriction, her eyebrows knit and fists clenched.

All her skills were of the buff and supporting type, and for healing she needed to be close to the target or the healing would be so bad that it would be negligible.

And no matter how much she wanted to help, she knew that going out would only be a burden rather than help.

But before they could worry too much about the gorgeous blonde beauty, they caught the sight of another woman.

Her purplish hair flailing in the wind as she yanked a metallic string and threw Katie towards Aaron and Eva with a lack of care.

"Heal her first, let’s see what I can do for our lovely leader." Jaq said coolly, sighing before refocusing on the rampaging beast.
