For Aaron, the next week passed by in a blur.

After acquiring the swordstaff from Dahlia’s store, Aaron was thrown into practice by Claire who taught him in their apartment.

Slowly over time, her wounds healed at a fastened pace as she kept taking her doses of potions and meds.

Her lessons started with theories about monsters, mana, skills and strategies as they both kept their connections to the outside world to a minimum.

True to her word, Eva didn’t come in contact with Aaron or Claire for the whole week and they only exchanged a couple of calls.

For Nancy as well, Aaron delayed their meetings easily, exchanging some messages a day so she doesn’t think he is ghosting her again.

As for Ruby, there was only a single chat in the whole week, where she asked him about the falcata and he replied that he is busy due to exams and he will retrieve it a week or two later.

Currently, the couple laid together on the bed with Claire leaning against his chest.

By now her annoying plasters were gone and only some bandages remained on her legs.

"You have your university exams, no?" Claire asked casually.

"Yeah, I received a message. It’s from the day after tomorrow." Aaron grumbled with annoyance.

After being so engrossed into the fights, labyrinth and developing his strength, Aaron wanted to ditch the university already, but Claire denied.

She told him that since he had done it so far, why not take the degree?

He wanted to argue that it’s useless, but she threw an ultimatum that she won’t take him into the mission with her if he doesn’t give exams properly.

Thus, Aaron had to agree, albeit reluctantly.

"Good then let’s pause the training for a few days. How long will your exams last?"

"Starts day after tomorrow and ends in 3 days, 1 exam each day."

Claire nodded, "Okay start studying for it, I will be heading out in the evening. We need to file the mission request."

She then turned to look at him, leaning closer as she pecked his lips, "I am adding you in the team, mission will start in a week so we will leave for Gammora the night your papers end."

"Sure." Aaron kissed her back, leaning backwards into the pillow and closing his eyes for a quick nap.

In the evening, Aaron woke up.

Near the cupboard Claire was shuffling around, picking out some clothes from the rack and fixing her hair.

Hearing him wake up, Claire turned and smiled, "I am going out to file the mission. Study well."

"Okay, take care. Also, when will you be back? I might go out for group study." Aaron asked back while rubbing his eyes. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

He had texted Nancy to help him with the studies and she had agreed, telling him to come over anytime and they can study.

She didn’t have much pure thoughts about it, but Aaron did. After getting closer and closer to Claire, he had decided that he won’t entangle himself into more shit until he tells her about his plans.

Though it wasn’t as if he wasn’t working towards it.

During the entire week, he was working towards increasing his own reputation in her eyes.

Surprising her with his unique, high magical affinity, thanks to the 2x connection with mana, and refining his mana active channeling.

Now he was capable of channeling his mana throughout his whole body to form an aura barrier.

It not only protected him from mental attacks, but also made his body feel as if it was on steroids.

His body flowed smoother, the elasticity and strength, both were improved and in addition to it, he felt lighter, faster and overall stronger.

He could also channel it to specific parts of the body to achieve various different effects while also using less mana.

Such as channeling the mana into legs for faster agility, into arms for greater strength, around head for better senses as well as mental protection, and many more.

He was currently working towards being able to channel it into specific internal organs, which was only possible thanks to his enhanced connection to mana and the sheer abundance of it.

It would help him achieve more permanent and faster growth, like he could channel it around the kidney to filter blood faster, stomach for faster digestion, lungs for better breathing, eyes for sight, ears for hearing.

Even Claire wasn’t at that level yet, as she didn’t have that smooth control over her mana.

Best evidenced by the fact that she bursts out in aura whenever she is overstimulated.

Regardless, the plan was working and Claire was getting more and more attached to the new Aaron, so much so that she didn’t even mention his old habits anymore.

He still hadn’t broken the news over to her yet, but he decided that he would after the exams.

Unlike the women Aaron was used to, Claire barely took 5 minutes to get ready and blew him a kiss, before leaving the apartment.

Aaron sighed, staring at the closed door.

His eyes fell over a black coloured guitar case, feeling a headache coming over as he imagined learning it.

’Oh well, better start now than never.’ Knowing that it was unavoidable, Aaron turned on his laptop with the fingerprint, searching for hollow songwood tutorials.

Or in other words, acoustic guitar.

It was the most popular choice as the electric/ mana chord guitar required mana for it to be played properly, and most of the small-time musicians were peace loving, lower levelled people.

Thus it wasn’t hard to find a few tutorials.

To make the learning even faster and effective, Aaron implemented his training.

He channeled and activated the mana in his brain region, causing it to get boosted and enhanced as the cells felt rejuvenated.

His thoughts were boosted and to keep up with those, he also channeled some mana in his arms.

That was all he needed to begin his guitar learning journey, playing the videos and attempting to replicate them as time ticked by.

Nearly half an hour later, Nancy called him.

"I will be reaching your building in like 5 minutes, please come downstairs."
