My Life In A Fantasy, Women-Dominated World-Chapter 97: Who’s Real?
Nancy’s body twitched, voice coming out breathy and needy, "You’re not playing fair, hngh, bastard."
Aaron simply chuckled, taking off his hand off her back and smiling.
He didn’t want to influence her decision making as in the end, it was her choice. He knew that he would be very, very hurt if she said no, but he still had no right to force her.
Nancy shivered slightly, her tightened body loosening slightly and sigh escaping her lips.
"This shit is too sudden, Aaron."
He nodded gently, "I know. It’s too sudden and overwhelming for you. But, I just felt that I should tell you, that I want you more than just a sidechick, more than just a booty call.
And you didn’t seem to be worried about Claire all this time, so why are you resistant?"
Nancy chuckled dryly, scoffing, "Not the same thing sweetheart." she hissed, "We weren’t dating. I really really like you, might even say I love you too, but I didn’t mind about Claire because we weren’t dating.
For me dating is like going for marriage, so then? You want to marry more than 3 women at once?"
"Not at once, we will hold a separate and personal ceremony for each woman." Aaron shook his head, appearing serious despite his words sounding like a nonchalant jab at Nancy.
Nancy’s eyelids twitched, her fist tightening as if she was resisting the urge to punch his smug face in.
And much to her dismay, she wasn’t hating him as much as she imagined herself to do! Hell, she even seemed slightly interested.
Of course, she had no clue about Aaron’s overbearing magic stat, that he was a huge anomaly unlike anyone this world had seen before.
Nope.
Despite not knowing any such secret, she still didn’t seem to directly reject him. She didn’t jump at the offer, but didn’t reject it either.
Till yet, she was only asking many questions and his feelings regarding it.
"Why?" she hummed.
"Because every woman deserves a marriage that she can look back to, something she thinks of as the most happy moment of he–"
"I meant, why did you decide to get into a polygamous relationship? Or at least hope to get into one." Nancy cut in with a sigh, noticing her mistake of not explaining the question properly.
Aaron paused, smiling slightly and staring into her eyes gently, "Can I trust you?" he asked.
Nancy blinked, once, then twice.
She seemed visibly disgruntled that he even had to ask it out, harrumphing, "Obviously. What you tell me will stay between us and only us."
"Well, I have 245 stats in magic." he dropped the first bombshell, feeling amused as he watched her eyes widen in shock.
"W-Wait– what?" she whispered.
"Yep, I’m currently nerfed by something called Heavenly Restriction. Know about it?" he asked casually.
Nancy appeared even more shocked, staring at him with wide eyes as if he was a freak of nature.
She was no scientist or even slightly interested in it, or else Aaron would’ve found himself naked on a table and getting sliced by many tools, not in a way that he would enjoy.
"It hits when you reach the 200 value in any stat... from then on, the gains in it are reduced by 50%..."
"Correct." Aaron ruffled her hair.
"Okay." Nancy nodded, trying her best to suppress her growing curiosity, "How’s that related to hoping for a polygamous relationship?"
Not expecting her to get over his stats so soon, Aaron was momentarily taken aback.
But then, he simply chuckled inwardly, nodding to herself.
Understanding that she wasn’t lying when she said she doesn’t care about fighting. She kept her curiosity to the bare minimum in matters related to fights, levels, powers, and many more.
Why? Aaron still didn’t quite know.
"It’s related in a way because it’s related to how my magic stat grew so high." He smiled, "The truth is... I don’t remember you."
Once again, another bombshell fell upon Nancy’s head, her eyes deadpanned.
"Aaron." she hissed, "I swear to whatever that is holy, but I will literally burn my entire bank balance to summon power if it means blowing you to chunks if you don’t stop telling me things in this stupidly annoying way.
You have 3 seconds, so start narrating your stupid story like a normal person and stop ragebaiting me like a ’gram influencer."
And as if to double down on her threat, she began to count backwards, starting at 3.
Coughing and embarrassed, Aaron swiftly began to spit out all the things that he had told Claire already.
He started by telling her that a week and 4 days ago, he was suddenly assaulted in his mind with foreign memories.
They replaced his memories completely, making him a total clueless newbie in this world. But there was a plus to it, as he received a broken title.
It allowed him to get 10 times the magic stats, letting him quickly pull ahead of the rest.
And its effectiveness was indeed quite obvious as being a mere level 10, he had already broken through the heavenly restriction.
But of course, Nancy wasn’t interested in finding out about his rise in power, so he cooked up a similar excuse for her.
Merging the reasonings that his pleasure leech required more partners, and that according to the memories, it was his life long dream to have a harem.
With the final nail in the coffin that, "The line between our existence is quite blurry, you know?’ Aaron faked a pained, hurt expression, "I don’t even know who I am anymore.
Both of us were named Aaron Cross but who’s real? The one whose memories I remember now? Or the past whose memories are remembered by the world? Who do you think is real?"
Nancy had expected many things, but not this.
She only looked at him with a loss of words, not knowing how to console him or how to reply to his broken query.
How would she know? Who’s the real Aaron Cross?
