My Love Debts Are Everywhere!-Chapter 702: A Traitor From Seven Thousand Years Ago
Chapter 702: A Traitor From Seven Thousand Years Ago
"An... egg?"
Leon’s brows knitted slightly as his gaze fell upon something at the center of the hall.
At first, he mistook it for the monster described in the ancient legends of the Dwarven race—but he quickly realized he was wrong.
What stood before him was a colossal black egg. It was no ordinary egg—this one towered nearly thirty to forty meters tall.
Even from a distance, Leon could sense the aura of an incredibly powerful being emanating from it—so powerful that it made even him feel uneasy.
"Miranda, is the creature inside this egg the Evil God’s mount? Or... could it be its offspring?" Leon asked quietly.
"I don’t know, Master," Miranda replied hesitantly. "But as far as I know, the monster egg the Evil God once carried wasn’t this large. Could it belong to something else?"
Sensing her uncertainty, Leon chose not to press the issue.
If Miranda didn’t know, then he would have to uncover the truth himself.
If the creature inside truly was the Evil God’s mount—or worse, its offspring—he would destroy it before it had the chance to awaken.
Taking a deep breath, Leon stepped closer to the egg.
With each step, the throbbing sound from within grew louder, as if the creature inside could break free at any moment.
Once he stood directly in front of it, he activated the Eye of Chaos in his right eye.
In an instant, the contents of the egg became clear—and what he saw made his eyes widen in horror.
"This... a Nine-Headed Hydra?" He gasped.
The Nine-Headed Hydra was a mythical monster from his former world.
And in this fantasy world, it wasn’t supposed to exist either.
Yet here it was—its existence shattered everything he thought he knew.
The Nine-Headed Hydra... was real.
"The Nine-Headed Hydra? That’s the Evil God’s mount!" Miranda’s voice echoed anxiously in his mind. "Master, kill it before it fully awakens! Otherwise, this world could be thrown into chaos once more—just like seven thousand years ago!"
Back then, the creature had unleashed unimaginable destruction. Countless Alliance soldiers from every race had fallen to its ravenous maws.
And it was no wonder—this monster commanded the forces of nature themselves: fire, wind, water, earth, lightning, light, darkness, space, and poison.
Each head represented one element, making it nearly invincible.
Fortunately, her former master—the Demon Emperor Amon Crimson—had devised a brilliant plan to deceive the Evil God, lure the Hydra to Mount Durnhak, and destroy it with the help of Luminus Troya and the Dwarf King of that era.
The death of the Hydra was one of the key reasons the Evil God had been sealed away.
Without it, the great war seven thousand years ago might have ended in ruin.
Hearing Miranda’s explanation, Leon held himself back. He couldn’t afford to act recklessly.
Now there was no doubt—this creature inside the egg was the Evil God’s mount, or at the very least, its descendant.
Either way, it had to be destroyed before it awakened.
*Whoosh!*
Leon’s black hair turned white in an instant as chaos power erupted from his body.
The space around him warped violently, and a raging windstorm spiraled outward, with him at its center.
Unlike holy power, chaos power was unmatched in destructive force.
When it came to killing or destruction, nothing was more absolute than chaos.
*Buzz!*
The energy surged into his hand as he reached out toward the massive egg.
But just before his palm could touch it, his heart suddenly skipped a beat.
His right eye widened—and in the blink of an eye, his body vanished, replaced by a massive boulder ten meters away.
*Boom!*
A violent explosion tore through the ground where he had just stood.
Shards of rock shot in every direction, and thick dust blanketed the area, cutting visibility to less than ten meters.
Leon frowned, eyes narrowing as he locked onto a short, shadowy figure ahead.
Moments later, the dust began to settle, revealing the figure of a short, stout dwarf.
He had a thick white beard and a clouded left eye—clearly blind. His hair was also white, dense, and shoulder-length.
Despite the deep wrinkles lining his face, his posture was firm and his presence radiated strength.
His right eye—jet black—locked onto Leon with a cold, piercing gaze.
"Are you... the Fated One?" he asked coldly.
Leon furrowed his brows. "Are you the Dwarf King? No... you’re not him. Who are you?"
Earlier, Morgrim had given a detailed description of the Dwarf King’s appearance, and Leon could tell right away that the man standing before him wasn’t the king.
This had to be the one who had been impersonating the Dwarf King and deceiving the entire Dwarven race.
The dwarf was silent for a moment, then broke into a wide grin. "Why ask a question when you already know the answer, Fated One?"
Those words confirmed Leon’s suspicions. He took a deep breath and glanced at the Hydra egg, his gaze turning ice-cold.
"Don’t tell me... you’re the one behind all this. Are you planning to resurrect it?" He asked sharply, eyes narrowed with killing intent.
"Hehehe... Spot on, Fated One. No wonder Amon Crimson placed so much trust in you. Sharp... and clever!" The dwarf cackled.
Upon hearing that, Leon’s senses immediately sharpened.
It was clear from the dwarf’s words that he knew Amon Crimson very well.
"Could he be from the era seven thousand years ago?" Leon’s heart skipped a beat.
As if reading his thoughts, the dwarf let out a low chuckle and said, "Yes, I come from the same era as Amon Crimson. Allow me to introduce myself—I am Barbarossa Thuldregan, younger brother of the Dwarf King from seven thousand years ago."
Leon was stunned, but Miranda was even more shocked than he was.
"Barbarossa Thuldregan? It can’t be..." Miranda’s voice trembled in his mind.
"You know him?" Leon asked, startled.
"Of course, Master!" Miranda answered firmly. "He was the Dwarf King’s younger brother during the Great War. But instead of standing with the Alliance, he betrayed us—he allied himself with the Evil God and fought against us all."
"Back then, the Dwarf King was deeply ashamed of having a traitor for a brother. With the approval of Hero Luminus Troya and Demon Emperor Amon Crimson, he personally executed him. His body was cast into the sea and never found. And now... he’s returned. This is insane!"
Leon’s expression darkened as he listened. He remained silent for a moment, then let out a slow breath and muttered, "It’s not impossible... Maybe the Dwarf King never actually killed him."
