My Mage System (BL)-Chapter 713: *Ian’s final transformation*
Chapter 713: *Ian’s final transformation*
Ian thought it was a pity that Axel hadn’t had time to enhance their power with the Runes, but it would allow him to do it himself instead.
Axel had told them that he had shared his knowledge of the Runes with the Warrior Spirits and that he would personally teach them how to use and engrave them upon his return, so everyone could benefit from their advantages.
For now, those weapons were the best he had, and he would have to make do.
Ian then noticed Roman smirking as he summoned his powers, unleashing a shockwave that pushed Ian back a few centimeters. Immediately afterward, black flames ignited on the blades of Roman’s scimitars, and he charged at Ian with a fierce intensity from the start.
His speed was such that Liam had to activate his divine wolf power to keep up with the fight, and he sighed with relief when he saw that Ian’s short swords were strong enough to withstand the power of Roman’s scimitars.
The black flames that enveloped their blades were spreading across Ian’s right side after each attack, and they seemed to be drawn to this side of his body like a magnet.
At that moment, they posed no threat to him, and he even took the opportunity to absorb them, thereby enhancing his mastery of the Evil Divine element.
Otherwise, although Ian had undergone intensive training in recent days and his skill with the short swords and combat techniques had greatly improved, Roman was still by far the strongest.
Elias then said to Liam, very satisfied while watching the fight, "It’s fantastic how much progress Ian has made in such a short time. Get ready, Liam; your husband is going to need a power boost soon."
Liam nodded and stroked the palm of his hand, where the Mark of the Union was present. Of course, he had been sharing his energy with Ian since the beginning of the fight, but Ian still hadn’t used this method to boost his stats.
Ian didn’t have the advantage in this fight at the moment, but he still had plenty of cards to play. He heard Liam’s frustrated wolf growl again as one of Roman’s scimitars grazed his left shoulder.
He stepped back to allow the golden particles on that part of his body to devour the black flames, as well as some black particles that had attempted to breach his defenses. But it was a lost cause; there were too few of them to pose any threat to him.
Roman, who was preparing to seize this opportunity to pressure Ian and gain a decisive advantage in the battle, suddenly stopped and widened his eyes when he saw golden flames erupting from Ian’s shoulder, consuming his own black flames without leaving any trace of injury behind.
Even the gash he had just inflicted had already vanished! How was this possible? This regeneration ability far surpassed that of a normal Drakonit, and what could be said about those golden flames?
Drakonits were all limited in their use of elements; after all, they were primarily warriors. The only elements available to them were earth, fire, darkness, and for the most powerful among them, the Evil Divine element.
Unable to contain himself, Roman exclaimed loudly, as Ian didn’t take advantage of his astonishment to attack, "How? How is it possible that golden flames have appeared on your left shoulder when I clearly saw you using the Evil Divine element several times already?"
Ian then showed him his Mark of the Union and explained to him, "My husband, who is right next to Elias, is the second Divine Wolf to have appeared in our universe, and since his transformation, he can use the Angelic Divine element."
Roman had already noticed this wolf, who was keeping a close eye on Ian, and he nodded slightly to greet him. Liam bowed his head in response to the greeting, and Ian continued his explanation, "I shared my powers with my husband, and he did the same. We have marked each other numerous times, and our friend—the first Divine Wolf to appear, who dispelled the Divine law preventing legendary creatures from evolving—also taught us how to share our energy."
Roman was astonished; he had no idea that one could not only share powers with a partner but also energy. Ian went on to say, "With my husband’s help and his energy, I was able to create an affinity with the Angelic Divine element, under Miguel’s supervision, of course."
As Roman was still speechless, Ian then declared, "Now I’m going to show you my true power, King of Drakonits, so don’t hold back and show me what you are really capable of!"
Ian finally harnessed Liam’s energy, causing their Mark of the Union to glow brightly, and then he unleashed his power. This time it was he who created a shockwave that echoed across the surface of the arena, ultimately blocked by the force field that Elias had reinforced.
Exclamations of surprise and excitement arose from all sides as the dust stirred up by Ian’s display of power still obscured them from the spectators’ view.
Roman was hit full force by this wave of energy, and like Ian earlier, he staggered back a few centimeters under its pressure, even though he was already transformed into a Divine Drakonit.
Ian continued to astonish him, and he decided not to take any risks this time. Immediately, he enveloped himself in a force field created with the Evil Divine element, and when the dust settled, he was finally able to witness Ian’s final transformation.
Ian’s left side was covered in golden flames that danced freely over his body, while his right side was engulfed in black flames that appeared, at first glance, to be more powerful than the golden ones.
Silence quickly returned to the stands as everyone could feel the pressure of Ian’s aura, even though they were protected by the force field, and for the first time in a long while, their King’s victory was no longer certain.
