My Mage System (BL)-Chapter 745: *Is the illusion on the next floor that dangerous ?*
Before going to the sixth floor, Julian reminded them that they would have to break an illusion to continue exploring the other floors. He also gave them pointers on how to pass this test.
As this psychic attack would drain them of their energy reserves little by little, and since they didn’t risk any psychological damage, he wouldn’t interfere in this trial; they had to pass this test alone, with just Yelena’s buff acting as support.
Julian would then continue to explore the other floors with the remaining students in his group. As for those who couldn’t make it, they could go train back on the fifth floor.
When everyone was ready, Julian let them pass through the passage to the sixth floor, and when the door closed, they all received another message.
[To pass to the seventh floor, you need to resist a psychic attack, and your energy reserve must be over 25,000 points. The trial starts in 10 seconds.]
Julian was quite confident in his students. Even though he had started training them only a few days ago, it wasn’t just a few hours per day. They basically spent all their days together, training from morning until nighttime.
As Elias had asked him specifically for this favor, he had put aside his teaching on the Sun Sect to train these elite mages and fighters.
Chris wasn’t supposed to be in that group, but as his progress was truly outstanding, Iris herself asked Elias to give him a chance to grow even stronger.
If Elias had sought out Julian to train them, it was because even Miguel couldn’t help them nurture this kind of talent. They wanted him to train them to use dual energy attacks.
Miguel was the only one who could currently mix his chakra with his soul force because he was the only being in this Universe to possess two energy reserves, and the resulting damage this attack could cause was unimaginable.
But just because he could use this attack didn’t mean he could teach it; for him, launching it was so natural that he didn’t even need to think about it. His energy reserves mixed together all the time, and he could use them separately or together.
But if they could nurture even a small group of mages and fighters to use this kind of attack, it would be a great help for the upcoming war. That was why they had sought Julian’s help.
Right now, their group of six mages, including himself, and ten fighters could already execute the same attack that Yelena and Ashton had created. The fighters could rapidly surround the different arrows or energy balls that the mages created with their chakra, and all the mages had already achieved perfect control over them when they threw them at the special dummies.
The resulting damage was the same as Nolan’s special attack. In the same way that Nolan could improve his attack by absorbing more energy into his energy ball, the mages could enhance the power of their attacks by condensing more particles into their spells.
Julian had already tested it countless times, and the more condensed the particles of elements were in their spells, the more chakra could be used to surround them. Moreover, as they weren’t using divine energy for their spells, their attacks, even though they were truly deadly, wouldn’t endanger the lives of people around them.
After just a short moment, Julian broke the illusion he was in. He looked at his students, and none of them, besides Yelena, had broken the illusion yet. Yelena, thanks to the inexhaustible energy of the cradle of magic, was completely immune to psychic attacks.
Julian then told her, "I will need your help for the next floor. I don’t want them to suffer from psychological trauma, so you will need to break the illusion for them.
Yelena then asked him curiously, "Is the illusion on the next floor that dangerous?"
Julian just nodded and told her, "Do you remember that Kevin suffered from some trauma because he had been tortured nonstop for an entire month?"
Yelena shuddered as she had heard Kevin’s story from Iris. Just the thought of what he had endured made her want to throw up. Seeing her reaction, Julian then said to her, "The illusion on the seventh floor can torture a mind; the aftereffects Kevin experienced after that month of torture could be triggered in any of them." 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Julian continued, "Only warriors who have been tortured or have witnessed the horrors of countless battles can endure it. This is not something they can withstand at their current level."
Yelena just nodded and replied, "I understand. Do not worry; I will shatter all these illusions as soon as possible."
Then, one after the other, they all broke the illusion they were trapped in, with Chris, after Julian, being the first one to break it. As some of them were still undergoing the trial, Chris used this time to ask Julian for some pointers.
Thanks to befriending Yelena, and then Iris and Helena, who were in charge of watching over them, Chris had been able to train in the special dimension for mages and inside the purple dungeons.
His strength skyrocketed, but he was always trying to improve himself. When Julian was chosen to be their mentor, he had been overjoyed, as he had seen Julian’s true strength.
Since he had seen Julian exterminate a whole dungeon room filled with summoned creatures by himself, getting as strong as him was his new goal. With this strength, he could be a help to his king, and as he was already in this special team, he had earned a ticket to fight in the war against the Titans and the Demons under Lilith’s command.
Julian wasn’t too happy about it, as his relationship with Chris was deepening. But as Chris desperately wanted to participate in this war to prove himself, he could only support him and help him get as strong as possible.
