My Mansion of Gorgeous Maids in Another World-Chapter 20: It’s me, Mom!
Chapter 20 - It's me, Mom!
As when Noctlisa had confessed to Jett earlier, her expression remained unreadable. Her half-lidded eyes widened slightly, and her lips remained straight. Her gaze on the Shadow Weaver in her palms was intense, and when she looked back at Jett, he figured he'd nailed it.
She's pretty damn cute, isn't she? Having sex with her showed me a whole new side of her. I wonder how much stronger she is now with the Shadow Weaver.
After exploring her curves and inner warmth, Jett was itching to see what his maids could do in a fight. He wondered if it'd be cool to pit them against each other.
That'd stir up a serious contest. But a no-rules brawl? Nah. Gotta think that through—it's a killer idea, but maybe too crazy.
Pushing that thought aside, Jett picked up the dark gem. "This thing looks awesome," he said.
Noctlisa peered at the gem. "This here's a Shadow Evolution Gem. Gobble it, and it'll twist one o' your skills into the shadow element. If it's refined right, it'll boost your dark defenses. Only the toughest ones get their gritty mitts on something like this."
Jett nodded.
This world thrives on conquer and devour—every reward so far has followed that pattern. My skills are already top-tier, so eating this gem might not backfire. Maybe I'll even get black lightning. That'd be badass.
"Having more options sounds awesome. I want to use this gem—got any clue where or how I should do it?" Jett asked.
Noctlisa replied, "It's best done at night when there ain't a moon in sight—just pitch-black darkness all around."
Jett grinned. "Got it, so that's on hold. What about those reins?"
Noctlisa explained, "These reins hold four Dark Ink Steads. Right now, they're restin' in the shadows, waiting on your orders. They're war beasts that can go without grub for a week in total darkness. With these Midnight Reins, they could stay dormant for years if you let 'em."
"Think they'd be okay pulling my carriage?" Jett asked.
"They wouldn't complain," Noctlisa replied.
"As the Warden who has to roam the world, I've got places to be and sights to see—these are perfect for my journey. Thanks a lot," Jett said.
"I'm honored, Master. Your knight-maid lives to serve." Noctlisa bowed.
[You have been granted four Dark Ink Steads as companions.]
[A new quest has been assigned to you: 'Dance.']
[Objective: Acquire proficiency in a ballroom dance to facilitate future delegations within noble circles.]
[Reward: The Warden Mansion shall unlock the Carriage Function, enabling your residence to transform into a carriage, permitting you to traverse the world.]
Just as I was thinking about a carriage... the Warden Mansion and my system are watching me as closely as ever. But hey, I'm into it.
"Anyone here know how to do a ballroom dance?" Jett asked.
Mia's hand shot up like a rocket. "Master, if it pleases you, I would be honored to teach! I can do it!"
"Sweet—Mia's on it. What about you, Noctlisa?" Jett said with a grin toward his head maid before turning to the dullahan.
Noctlisa ducked her head, clearly unsure. "If it's a battle dance, I'll kick ass... but a fancy ballroom dance? Can't see myself prancin' around in dainty shoes."
"Haha, same here. But trying new things is fun. Mia's a killer dancer—given all the hype, she'll teach us both well. Not every day an elf teaches you to dance, right?" Jett said.
Noctlisa nodded. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
And that wrapped up Jett's second trip to the Mansion's Storage.
His maids carried the prized items—the Midnight Reins and the Shadow Evolution Gem—as Jett strode out of the storage with them by his side.
On the way to the big room where Mia would teach him and Noctlisa the ballroom dance, Jett peered through the window. It was already dark—early evening.
Second day here already. Two days flew by in the blink of an eye... wait!
He gasped and turned to Mia. "Can I somehow call my world?!"
"Master Jett, I find myself uncertain," Mia replied, her voice soft and apologetic.
Jett clicked his tongue. "I left my world without telling my family a damn thing. Didn't cross my mind because it all felt like some crazy dream," he said.
He knew that was a weak excuse. Now he felt worse.
Just then, the mansion stirred.
[A summoning chamber has been temporarily activated.]
[You may utilize the summoning chamber's central circle to establish contact with your family and apprise them of the circumstances prior to resuming inter-world travels.]
"Let's fucking go!" Jett exclaimed.
His maids glanced at each other, confused but relieved at hearing their master's excited voice.
...
In Parallel Earth, where time flowed just like it did on Fayralia World, it was evening, but a woman in her forties was buzzing around like it was morning. She slammed her hands on the desk and glared at a policeman across from her.
"All you can do is accuse innocent people and shoot them! Find my son!" she yelled.
The policeman swallowed and plastered on a smile. "Mrs. Talon, we're doing everything we can to find your son. It's just that villains have been more active lately, so it's tricky," he said.
Mrs. Talon slammed the desk again. "I don't care!" she snapped.
Her son's voice echoed in her mind: Um, Mom?
She shot back, "What kind of magic are the police using these days?!"
No! Mom! It's me, Jett!
Meanwhile, the policeman forced that practiced grin. "Mrs. Talon, I can't use any magic. Otherwise, I wouldn't still be behind the desk," he said.
