MY Masochistic CEO-Chapter 139 evening plans
"Your leader seems to be targeting you." Mary observed.
I sighed. "It’s normal as she is superior to me in the company."
Just as Mary was about to speak, my phone rang again.
’Damn it! When would it end?’
’Was it Melody calling again?’
I felt annoyed.
I checked the phone, and it was actually a call from George. I made a hushing gesture to Mary and answered the phone. "Hello, George!"
"William, are you busy?"
George’s hearty laughter came through the phone.
"I’m free for now."
"Is your injury getting better?"
"Yeah."
"Alright. There’s a party tonight. Do you want to come?"
I glanced at Mary and asked. "Is Edward going too?"
"Edward is busy tonight. Just come. Most of the guests are executives of Sevan, and there will be white and red wine."
"Just go!" Before I could respond, Mary whispered.
I nodded, "Okay. When exactly?"
"After ten in the evening at the Dynasty Club!"
"So late?"
"In the first half, we need to discuss some things, which is not convenient for outsiders to be present." George was a candid man, who didn’t have many bad intentions toward friends. If he said that, it must be true. Otherwise, he would have brought me along.
"Alright. I’ll come later."
"Great. We’ll talk about it later."
After hanging up the phone, I thought. ’Will Mr. Williams from Sevan’s Cellars be there too?’
It would be great if he were.
Mary said, "George is a good person, very loyal to his friends. My brother speaks highly of him, and he likes to mentor younger generations."
I nodded. "George is a good guy. He’s been very kind to me and has mentored me a lot."
"That’s a good thing. Now that you’re starting your own business, it’s important to build networks and meet as many people as possible."
She touched my left hand. "But remember, don’t drink too much."
She knew that it was impossible not to drink at such events. Otherwise, there was no point in going there.
We wouldn’t just stand there like a wooden stake.
"Let’s go downstairs and buy some hangover medicine, so you won’t get drunk tonight."
"Is it so effective?"
She said. "Every time my brother attends a gathering, he takes hangover medicine beforehand."
I suddenly realized how it worked.
After going downstairs, she bought me some hangover medicine, and then said, "I have guests at home tonight, so I can’t have dinner with you."
I said. "Oh, I thought we could go out for a big meal tonight."
"I’m sorry. I originally planned to spend the day with you, but my mom specifically instructed me that."
She looked apologetic.
She felt guilty, and so did I.
I kissed her on the forehead. "It’s okay, there’s always tomorrow. As long as you want, you can come see me anytime."
She kissed me back, feeling touched. "Then I’m leaving."
I watched her leave, and instead of going back to the company, I took a taxi home. On the way back, Kristina messaged me asking if I had finished work and not to forget to take care of my wound.
I replied, [I have an essential event tonight, so I won’t go.]
Kristina quickly responded. [Remember to change the bandage yourself. Oh, by the way, the little girl asked when her daddy would come to see her!]
I thought for a moment. [I’ll go after work tomorrow.]
Then, Melody also sent me a short message. [William, you’re doomed!]
I touched my nose. Melody always threatened me like that. I ignored her and clicked my chat interface with Grace. [Why haven’t you come back yet? Are you coming to the party tonight?]
[I’m coming, of course. I’ve already reserved a seat, so make sure you dress up nicely.]
She replied with a shy expression. [Do you want me to dress up innocent or sexy?]
[I prefer innocent style.]
[You stingy man.]
Whatever she thought, I never thought of myself as generous, especially when it came to women.
Then Lucy texted me. [I’ve submitted the documents to the Industrial and Commercial Bureau. The company is registered and named Dance Across the City Limited Company!]
Dance Across the City. What a great name!
It was grand, high-end, and rhythmic.
[Thank you for your hard work.] I replied.
She replied, [You’re welcome. It’s what I should do. I’ll supervise tomorrow.]
With Lucy around, I didn’t have to worry too much because she wanted the company to succeed even more than I did.
But what Tatiana said was making me anxious. She hadn’t given me a definite answer yet. If things didn’t work out, I would have to start with Mya.
I really liked to be with her!
She was sweet, with a hint of milk fragrance, and a good temperament.
Just thinking about what happened that day turned me on.
As I was reminiscing, a sudden ringing of my phone disrupted my thoughts.
I picked up the phone and saw that it was a call from Tatiana. I was ecstatic. I just wanted to talk with her. Could it be that she had settled things with her aunt?
I quickly answered the phone. Before I could speak, Tatiana’s voice came through, boasting. "William, I’ve made it for you. How are you going to thank me?"
She made it?
Today was a day of good news. "Did your aunt agree?"
"Of course, with my intervention, it’s naturally a piece of cake!"
Tatiana said, "Joining the Sevan Dance Association is simple. My aunt can directly get you enrolled, and then you symbolically donate some money to the association. The matter of the cooperation plaque can be settled. My aunt also mentioned that she could have her name associated with your dance institution, and then you donate some money to the school. In return, she will reciprocate by giving you a school cooperation plaque and arrange for students interested in dance to receive training at your place."
I was stunned by this good news. "Wow, is it really that simple? You’re not kidding me, are you?"
"I’ve worked hard for it. Do you think I would lie to you?"
She seemed a bit upset. "If you don’t believe me, forget it. Pretend I never said anything!"
"Hey, don’t be angry. My bad. I was just too happy."
Her aunt would join the dance association as a point of cooperation for the association! Her aunt was the vice principal of the prestigious Sevan Art Academy, and having her name associated with my small dance training company was such an honor.
And I could get the school’s cooperation plaque!
Sevan Art Academy was not some run-of-the-mill university. It was quite renowned nationwide.
