My Players Are So Fierce – Handsome dog Frank-Chapter 2384 - 795: Transylvania’s New Immigrants
"Is there any other good news besides this?"
"Yes, the elves have arrived too."
Captain Paula grinned and winked, pointing behind her, saying to Murphy:
"On the fourth airship, there’s a delegation sent by Miss Filoseer the Ranger General. Besides the familiar Captain Dimes Goldleaf, there’s also a noble Moon Sacrifice here, escorting a batch of precious items.
It’s said that these gifts are for you to resist the Black Disaster."
"Hmm? Gifts from the elves?"
Murphy squinted his eyes, immediately thinking of a possibility. He was stirred but didn’t immediately stand up. Instead, he said to Captain Paula:
"I heard there is a lot of manpower in the shanty town outside Charles Port?"
"Ah, that place, the so-called ’Black City’—yes, there are many who can’t find work. Charles Port developed too quickly; factory owners took up a lot of land but couldn’t provide enough jobs, forcing displaced farmers to make a living there.
But there’s hardly any decent work available, causing those folks to live like mice, being viewed as a plague by city dwellers."
Captain Paula sneered and said:
"The steam lords never treated those people well before, but now that there’s a need to fight, the abundant human resources of Black City have suddenly become sought after.
Just a few days before I came here, a 3,000-strong marine corps was recruited, and the lords even invited Shield Dwarves to train them. But I doubt it; those guys were all thieves, gangs, and robbers.
They hold no allegiance to Charles Port; hoping they’ll defend the city is overthinking it.
Why?
Do you have plans for those people too?"
"Of course, I lack everything here, and people are what I lack the most."
Murphy placed the soda he was holding on the table, saying to Paula:
"Since Charles Port is under wartime conditions now, the contraband we need probably can’t be transported anymore, so let’s just send people. Send all those with nowhere to go to Transylvania—I want not only young adults but also the elderly, children, and women!
As long as they are alive and can enter Transylvania, I will pay."
"Oh please, my dear Governor, your purse is already empty."
Paula let out the signature chuckle of a half-body man and said:
"Your current hiring funds are still advanced by the Blood Fear Pirates. You don’t have money, but Old Flywheel has already started the Burning Gold business; truly bold.
I mean, if you can help smooth things over with Lady Taylor, letting me get a piece of that, I can help you transport twenty shiploads of refugees for free."
"I won’t say how many ships, but I need at least 100,000 people!"
Murphy said boldly:
"If you can do it, I can share the portion of the business I have with you."
"Wow, you are so generous!"
Paula’s eyes turned into dollar signs as she stood on the sofa, patting her chest to promise:
"I’ll definitely have this sorted for you within two months; there are so many people outside Charles Port, they breed like mice. Now that war is looming, plenty are looking to flee. Those guys don’t even know where Transylvania is, let alone the threats faced by your ’Feng Shui Treasure Land.’
Bringing over 100,000 people is easy, it’s merely a question of time and logistics.
You could have Bataxsin Business Association establish an office outside Charles Port to recruit people. They recruit some, and I transport some. To be honest, my peers are envious of me making money; they want a piece of the action.
The Bataxsin Business Association’s three large airships in the Charles Port shipyard are nearing completion. As long as Miss Pailian cooperates with me, I can complete the transportation tasks on time."
"Alright, I’ll leave it to you then, my dear ’Immigration Officer’ Miss Paula."
Murphy stood up and shook hands with Paula, saying:
"Do you want a post in Transylvania? I mean, giving you the title of ’Commercial Baron’ so it’s convenient for you to handle matters externally."
"Ah, Commercial Baron Paula?"
Captain Paula tilted her head thoughtfully, saying:
"Sure! Sounds cool; I’ll go find Little Milian; I’m pretty close with her—I even brought her the finest half-body man makeup. Hurry up and meet those elves; the anticipation in your eyes is unmistakable."
"Alright, then goodbye, my clever little friend."
Murphy bid farewell to Paula, turned and left the captain’s cabin, and soon arrived at the fourth airship.
Professor Malcolm and Little Sheron were also here, but Murphy went to meet the elves first. He already knew Captain Dimes, so upon seeing Murphy enter their cabin, he didn’t waste time and pointed to several boxes locked multiple times on the table, saying:
"30 Sacred Blades of Avalon are here! This is your requirement and the sincerity of the Ranger General. With these as a foundation, we can discuss what comes next."
"Hmm?"
Murphy looked at the serious Dimes and said:
"What does the Ranger General want to discuss with me?"
"The Brass Fortress cannot be held, but the Ranger General does not intend to retreat to the homeland. She wants to move her army to Transylvania to continue fighting, and this requires your consent."
