My Scheming Little Devil-Chapter 112 A Misunderstanding_1
"The little girl threw it somewhere, which we found while cleaning up. This girl! She always throws things carelessly. She doesn’t treasure them one bit."
"I did not!" the little girl pouted and giggled. "I found this crystal snake in grandpa’s room."
Ye Yuan raised an eyebrow, "See Mom, I didn’t lie."
They took pictures of this crystal snake from their sister’s phone and somehow posted them online. They hired someone to create a trendy magazine picture and wrote some nonsense about it, claiming it was a relic of some European royal family worth a fortune.
Then they printed it out and sneakily glued it into the fashion magazine that Chen Yan subscribes to every month.
They intentionally left the magazine open at that page on the table.
When Chen Yan saw it, her eyes lit up. She hurried back to her room, opened the safe, and took it out to compare. Then, they pretended to chase their pet and rushed in and caught her red-handed.
Even though they knew it was in their grandpa’s room, they couldn’t find it because they knew he had a safe where he locked up all precious things. Setting a trap was the only chance they had to catch Chen Yan and obtain the evidence.
"You’re saying Grandpa took it?" Ye Lu was taken aback. Her first instinct was to deny it, but she had an odd feeling.
"Lu, you’re back. What are you talking about standing at the door? It’s cold out, don’t let yourself catch a chill," chided Ye Wanli in his loving voice.
Ye Lu ushered the children and saw Ye Wanli reading a newspaper in the living room.
She didn’t want to suspect her dad, but since Little Yuanyuan was so convinced, she couldn’t help but ask, "Dad, how did this crystal snake... end up in your room?"
Ye Wanli didn’t show any signs of guilt. He laughed, "This is all a misunderstanding. You know our pets, always chewing on things and running off with them. The pet picked up the toy snake of the little girl and brought it to our bedroom. Aunt Chen didn’t know it was Little Girl’s and thought it was a gift from me.
She put it in her dressing table. These two children came in and saw it and wrongly thought that Aunt Chen stole it from them. It’s just the mischievious pets. Last time, one of them even lost a bracelet in the garden."
Ye Yuan and Ye Yi, the brother and sister, were speechless at Ye Wanli’s blatant lies. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
The dressing table? It was clearly hidden in the safe. Otherwise, they would have found it earlier.
"It seems it was all a misunderstanding. I knew Dad couldn’t do such a thing." Ye Lu felt relieved. Dad was always so generous, he wouldn’t steal from a child. It was her mistake to doubt him. It felt more like an insult.
She turned to educate the two children, "Did you hear that? You two should not suspect him carelessly. It was all the dog’s doing. Now, it’s late, go to sleep!"
The little girl wanted to say something but was silenced by Ye Lu’s sharp look. She pouted and was dragged upstairs by her brother.
"Mom doesn’t believe us, how annoying!" Little Yuanyuan slammed the door shut in frustration.
"It’s because our evidence isn’t enough. Unless she sees it with her own eyes, she will never believe it." Ye Yuan sighed. Mom was such a dummy, too afraid to lose family bonds to doubt Grandpa.
Unless she bangs her head against the wall.
"Lu, how’s your relationship with Crown Prince Shang recently?" asked Ye Wanli with concern.
Ye Lu considered for a moment, feeling that she must not let her father misunderstand about it any more.
