My Scheming Little Devil-Chapter 116 Unexpected Ending_1
"Fine, I know what to do. It won’t be that easy to set a trap for me. If you want to buy me out, you better have at least one billion - any less than that won’t cut it." Ye Lu rolled her eyes. What a plotter.
She hoped it wouldn’t be anything too troublesome.
"Oh right, about that favor you asked for - to help out your dad’s business. I’ve found something. I’ll email it to you," she said.
Upon receiving the email, Ye Lu looked a little taken aback.
Her expression changed a few times, and in the end, she deleted the message.

After Shang Jingchen promised Yuan Jiayin, he actively began to take Ye Lu home more often. As usual, Madam Shang was less than pleased. Old Sir Shang, however, was polite to Ye Lu, though not overly enthusiastic.
Ye Lu couldn’t quite figure out Old Sir Shang’s attitude. With him being privy to her background, she didn’t dare to act recklessly. This led to her being quite well-behaved over those few days.
Old Sir Shang liked to tend to his plants in the greenhouse after dinner. He often asked for Ye Lu’s help and would chat casually with her.
Even Shang Jingchen couldn’t figure out what his grandfather’s intentions were.
After two weeks of this, one evening after dinner, Old Sir Shang summoned Ye Lu and Shang Jingchen into his study.
Shang Jingchen knew that his grandfather had something to say and he was a little nervous.
He didn’t care about anyone else’s attitude – not even his mother’s, but he cared a lot about his grandfather’s.
But he figured his grandfather probably wouldn’t be pleased with Ye Lu. As long as his grandfather voiced an objection, he could bring up Jiayin again – his grandfather doted on him so much that he’d surely agree.
Ye Lu, on the other hand, was relieved. She was really getting tired of Madam Shang’s fierce gaze - it felt like she was being constantly eaten alive.
It seemed as if the ten million were finally hers. What a relief!
"Jingchen, Xiao Ye, I asked you here tonight because I have something to tell you," Old Sir Shang began, his voice calm, his gaze warm upon them. Then he smiled, saying, "After observing Xiao Ye over the past two weeks, I have to say, she is not bad. Jingchen, you have good taste. I approve of your marriage."
His words were like a bolt from the blue. Not to mention Shang Jingchen, even Ye Lu was dumbfounded.
Hey, hang on, grandpa. Are you kidding me? You actually agree? This is against all logic, completely contradictory to expectations.
"Grandpa, you mean, you approve?" asked Shang Jingchen, his face white, repeating the question unbelievably.
"Yes, Xiao Ye is a graduate student from a prestigious university. While her family isn’t as affluent as ours, they are well-off. I’m not such a fossil, insisting on a perfect match in terms of social status. So, let’s consider the matter settled," said Old Sir Shang cheerfully.
Ye Lu stared in disbelief. Old Sir, aren’t you blatantly lying? Me, having good conditions? I have two illegitimate children and I’ve been acting so unrefined this whole time. What could you possibly be satisfied with?
Why is your way of thinking so different from other people’s? It’s hard to understand. Any other old man would have driven me away a long time ago.
Ye Lu was completely befuddled.
The most befuddled one, however, was Shang Jingchen. His painstaking schemes had led to such an unexpected outcome. He could hardly believe it, nor accept it, feeling nothing but extreme anger.
"I’m sorry, Grandpa, but I don’t agree with this," he said, then, without a word, he got up and stormed out of the room.
Ye Lu followed in hot pursuit, "What in the world is going on? Why would your grandfather suddenly agree?"
Shang Jingchen abruptly stopped, turned around and glared at her with cold, scornful eyes, full of mockery and anger.
"That’s what I want to know. How could this happen? Ye Lu, I really underestimated you."
