Chapter 124: Chapter 124 I Won’t Marry_1

Looking at her still feigning innocence, his heart filled with rage. He raised his hand and slapped her across the face.

Smack- The sound of the slap pierced the quiet room. Ye Lu had never been slapped so harshly before, the force knocked her down on the bed.

All she felt was a burning pain across her face, the taste of blood filling her mouth, blood trickling down the corner of her mouth.

But above the physical pain, a thick sense of humiliation swallowed her. It made her heart sting and caused her body to tremble uncontrollably.

It was like going back seven years. It wasn’t her fault, but everyone blamed her, trampled and ruthlessly debased the innocent her.

"Ye Lu, listen to me, don’t think that by doing this, I would agree to marry you. I was unconscious, it’s impossible that anything happened between us, so don’t try to use this as an excuse to make me take responsibility. I will never, ever marry a disgusting woman like you," Shang Jingchen was still absolutely livid.

Ye Lu said nothing, lying on the bed as if dead, letting her blood drop slowly onto the sheets.

The door was suddenly flung open, revealing three stern-faced people standing in the doorway.

Old Sir Shang, Madam Shang, and...Ye Wanli.

Shang Jingchen’s face turned pale and he glared at Ye Lu, furiously pulling her up from the bed.

"So it was you who arranged this quick setup!"

Ye Lu remained silent, her eyes numb.

"Don’t think that I would give into this. I absolutely won’t." Shang Jingchen angrily shoved her away, causing her to tumble onto the bed.

"Jingchen, what are you doing?" Old Sir Shang’s voice was stern. Taking in their disheveled appearances, he angrily said, "You actually did something like this, get out right now."

Ye Lu didn’t know how they left, only that she was alone there at the end.

She also didn’t know what Old Sir Shang and Shang Jingchen were arguing loudly about outside. She just sat quietly on the bed, her eyes vacant and filled with despair and sorrow.

After an unknown period, there was a knock on the door, and the sound of a worried Ye Wanli could be heard.

Her fingers were shaking as she picked up the jacket on the floor, calmly put it on, then opened the door and let out a hoarse cry.

"Dad."

"Lu." Upon seeing her, Ye Wanli tears started flowing freely. As he hugged her, he choked back sobs, "That rotten boy bullied you, Dad will certainly seek justice for you, don’t be afraid, let’s go home."

Ye Wanli carefully helped her out of the villa and into the car to leave.

Once back home, Ye Lu sat stiffly in the hall.

Ye Wanli handed her a cup of hot water and sighed: "Lu, I know you are very upset, but I need to tell you something. I’ve agreed with Old Sir Shang to have you marry Shang Jingchen. The wedding preparations will begin soon, so prepare yourself."

Ye Lu’s body trembled: "The Shang family agreed to the marriage?"

"Yes, thankfully Old Sir Shang is a responsible parent." Ye Wanli tried his best to look sorrowful, but his eyes couldn’t hide his glee.

Although Shang Jingchen strongly disagreed and said that he would never ever marry Ye Lu, Old Sir Shang insisted that their family would take responsibility for Ye Lu. After he feigned a few lines of indignation, he agreed.

They have already quickly discussed the wedding details. Old Sir Shang agreed to give the Ye family a dowry of 700 million, as well as a villa and a luxury car.

He was beyond pleased, seeing as how Ye Lu was only a "worn-out shoe" who had been married and had a child. He had never dared to hope for much, but didn’t expect he would be able to sell her for this much. It was a validation of his foresight.

"I refuse to marry." Ye Lu shook her head listlessly.
