My Scheming Little Devil-Chapter 2053: Hidden Worries
Don’t want to be tainted? She insisted that the things Jun Yiyi used be defiled by the dirtiest person, filled with a disgusting and nauseating smell.
Well, that’s right, those other things are also an eyesore.
Lie Fengzi propped her chin, glanced around the room at the remaining items, and opened the wardrobe, taking a look at the everyday clothes Jun Yiyi had left behind.
She picked up a piece, toyed with it for a moment, then casually tossed it aside.
Then she walked out of the room, came downstairs, found an assistant, and instructed him on some matters to be handled immediately.
...
Jun Yiyi had been away for a few hours before returning home.
Tense and worried, afraid of what unknown consequences might occur, Madam Aisha saw her return and immediately approached to ask her what happened, and if those people had done anything to her?
Jun Yiyi shook her head and calmly told her about the villa visit, assuring her she didn’t encounter any trouble or difficulties, which made Madam Aisha breathe a sigh of relief.
"That Duke Lie Miss seems to be a nice girl, previously in the social circle, she was already a famous and reputable young lady, intelligent and of noble birth, unlike those other noble daughters who are arrogant and disrespectful. Yiyi, if you make friends with her, perhaps you could have someone to turn to when trouble arises in the future."
"Mom, I think we should stay away from any aristocrats associated with the Councilman Faction." Jun Yiyi lowered her eyes, her tone indifferent.
"That’s true, anyone connected to us might get into trouble. Given our sensitive identities, we might actually provoke suspicion instead. Luckily, tonight went well." Madam Aisha was pleased again, "It seems the entire government doesn’t have much hostility towards us, they haven’t troubled us probably seeing us as a pitiable mother and daughter ignorant of the inside story. If times continue like this, we can live like ordinary citizens, that would be wonderful, being able to lead a peaceful life."
Jun Yiyi wouldn’t respond, unwilling to shatter Madam Aisha’s beautiful fantasy.
The apparent calm and lack of trouble do not mean they can really exist as ordinary citizens; what’s scarier is the invisible hostility around, the sometimes explicit and sometimes implicit discrimination and malice.
Thinking of this made Jun Yiyi feel the pain subtly emanating from her arm, turning her forcibly composed face paler and her brows faintly furrowed.
"This is the album I brought back from the villa, keep it safe." She handed the returned photo frame to Madam Aisha.
Madam Aisha was overjoyed, carefully caressing it in her hands, tears gleaming in her eyes, deeply moved.
"This is the last photo taken with father, crafted into a frame by father’s people, I’ve kept it for over twenty years. But how did you manage to get it back, hopefully, it wasn’t stolen."
Madam Aisha’s face immediately showed anxiousness.
"Don’t worry, I took it with permission."
"That’s excellent, I couldn’t believe it could be recovered, Yiyi, thank you so much."
"As long as you’re happy."
Madam Aisha held the album to her chest, sighed: "I didn’t expect that ultimately the one to protect my most precious possession would be you. Yet, regretfully, I can’t help you with anything, just drag you down. I’m really just a foster mother who found you more than a year ago, you don’t need to do so much for me."
"Don’t say that, you’ve given me enough, and you’re now my only family in this world."
