My Scheming Little Devil-Chapter 2078: Good Luck
"...Carefully inspect every item sent into her room; we can’t allow another opportunity for sabotage."
"We will be cautious. You can actually go see her; she won’t be waking up now." The attending doctor finished speaking, then felt a jolt of fear at his overstepping, quickly bowing and leaving.
The sound of the attending doctor’s footsteps slowly faded away outside the corridor.
The man, who had been silently standing there for a long time, finally slowly pushed open the door and walked to the bedside, sitting down.
Reaching out, he gently arranged the messy hair on the woman’s forehead, softly tucking it behind her ear; the warm touch at his fingertips lingered by her ear.
Such determination in her, indeed never seen before. Now, in her heart, the most important thing is her studies. She desires it so intensely, even at the cost of her health.
He withdrew his hand, deeply staring at her.
Then stood up and left silently.
...
"What, she actually still participated in the exam in the end? Truly unexpected." Lie Fengzi received the call, eyes sharp, expression not very pleasant.
A troublesome woman indeed, even drugged, she still managed to take the exam. A more formidable and significant adversary than expected, increasingly fueling her fighting spirit and desire to defeat.
Repeatedly setting traps to harm her, it’s safe to say never before has such extensive scheming been used to deal with someone.
Using a famous painting to injure her hand, then secretly dispatching people to follow her, bribing hospitals she visited to refuse treating her injury, thus inevitably worsening it. Without treatment, her hand would eventually become useless, and if infection occurred, it could cost her life.
To silently eliminate the woman like this would be ideal for oneself, trouble-free and removing an eyesore at the same time.
Even if she didn’t die, such a hand injury would prevent her from attending the exam, completely crushing her.
But who would have thought midway, her luck was so good, she was sent to the hospital for treatment. Upon investigating, it turns out Madam Aisha publicly pleaded with Lieutenant Ling Kong to save her, politically compelled to comply.
This was problematic; I definitely didn’t want Jun Yiyi to have another chance at the exam, hence scheming to lace the food Madam Aisha bought with drugs, finally sidelining this troublesome woman.
Who knew she would once again wake up in time.
"Seems her luck truly is good, managing to catch such breaks."
The caller said.
"It’s not just luck; she missed the timing. I heard Lieutenant Helian personally intervened, granting her special entry to the exam room."
Lie Fengzi’s gaze darkened; once again Ling Kong assisted her. Is it lingering affection, or political pressure, fearing others might criticize their Councilman Faction for being harsh on enemy offspring?
Ling Kong couldn’t possibly still have such sentimental help for that woman, considering she harshly rejected him; any man would find it humiliating and embarrassing. It must be a matter of political stance.
"Tch, expecting to get into the best school despite arriving late, what a joke; just pointless effort. Even if she were a prodigious talent, don’t expect her to be accepted." Lie Fengzi scoffed.
Though that woman does have some admirable tenacity and determination, to think she could triumph in such times against me is far-fetched; ultimately just a slightly stronger ant, but an ant nonetheless. If I apply myself, I can crush her eventually.
Moreover, now, I truly do have a crucial ace up my sleeve yet to be played!
