Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Hurry and Run_1

Ahem, maybe he had interrupted Third Young Master’s good time, and boy, did Third Young Master’s face look terrible! That icy stare of his had quite the chill.

It’s so unfair, he didn’t mean to do it... Also, he’d been away for so long with the girl, he was so close a few times... how come he still hadn’t succeeded?

What a wasted golden opportunity.

"Third Young Master, someone has broken in. Looks like they’re after you!"

Third Young Master Jun had calmly walked to a corner of the room and pressed something on the wall. Suddenly, a huge, strong safe sprang from the sleek wall. It was filled with various portable firearms. The gleaming metal, sharp and cold, would send a chill down anyone’s spine.

"Someone is actually after my life, heh, not bad. Finally, someone with brains has shown up."

He chuckled coldly, casually picked up a gun, deftly attached a silencer, cocked the gun with a ’click’, and locked the safety.

Ye Lu watched with eyes wide open as he did all this, her heart going cold. Her heart was pounding violently. Good heavens, who exactly was this man, to possess such dangerous things as guns?

No wonder he behaved so outrageously and wickedly; he was probably a no-good from the start.

Was he a part of some underworld gang, now being pursued by some rival in the underworld?

He deserved it. Humph, it would be best if they kill him. The world would be one less evil.

Feiyu quipped, "Third Young Master, you’ve angered more than just one or two people. There are countless of them with a deep-seated hatred for you. It’s rather surprising it took them this long to try to take your life. However, I am curious to know who managed to discover your identity. In all these years, we’ve been meticulous and discreet, never once revealing your identity. No one should know who you are."

Third Young Master Jun wore a hard, grim expression on his face as he pondered.

"Keep one alive. I want an explanation! As for the rest, you know what to do."

Feiyu nodded.

Third Young Master Jun looked at him sternly, "Feiyu, you were negligent this time, letting someone break in and fire shots! Don’t make me regret bringing you back."

Feiyu’s expression tightened, dropping the playful act.

"Yes, I will revise the defense measures immediately."

They had only just returned home and hadn’t had time to properly set up security around the villa.

He was typically responsible for supporting Third Young Master Jun in his business ventures. He had only just started dealing with security. However, he had previously confidently vowed to handle Third Young Master’s safety personally, allowing Lie Feng, who was in charge of security, to stay behind.

Now something like this occurred. Although it didn’t pose a real threat, it was still negligence on his part, and he was ashamed.

"I’ll make amends now." Feiyu vanished from the room instantly.

"You stay put!" Third Young Master Jun turned and gave a cold warning before leaving the room silently, gun in his hand.

Ye Lu’s face was ashen, watching their smooth and composed maneuvers in the face of crisis. They were all too accustomed to such situations. Damn, who exactly were these people?

Her life was ruined by getting involved with these underworld figures.

And, would this man spare her once he dealt with the immediate crisis and returned?

Absolutely not. Thinking about his cold-hearted look while holding the gun sent a shiver down Ye Lu’s spine.

"Stay put and wait for you to finish me off when you get back? I am not a fool!" Ye Lu gritted her teeth, quickly hopped off the bed, rushed into the bathroom, and put on her clothes.

Then, terrified and cautious, she opened the door.

Gunfights... she was just a civilian living in peaceful times, where could she have seen such terrifying scenes that belong only in the movies?

She was genuinely scared that if she was not careful, a bullet would fly right past her.
