My Scheming Little Devil-Chapter 88: The Biggest Victim_1
Chen Yunfei’s cold gaze bore into her mercilessly.
"Only Yan could have been so easily deceived by you, fallen for you. When I agreed to your marriage, I did this, hoping for my son’s happiness. I did not care about your background, or your intentions. But, your heart is so cold, hurting my son in such a way, causing him so much pain. As a mother, seeing my son in such agony, I just wish I could kill you."
Her voice was filled with uncontrollable fury and hatred. Ye Lu felt suffocated, unable to utter a word.
She could understand Mrs.Gu’s pain. Chen Yunfei loved Gu Yan so much, unconditionally, there could be no better mother in the world.
So when Gu Yan was hurt, of course, she would despise herself this much.
"Aunt, I admit I did wrong by Gu Yan back then, but it was against my wishes."
"Whether you wanted to or not, what’s the difference? The fact that you cheated is established and even a thousand reasons couldn’t change that, could it?"
Ye Lu shuddered. Yes, of course, what use was explaining? What happened seven years ago was irreversible. Even if they believed that she was framed, could everything return to how it once was?
She was so foolish, persistently clinging onto something long lost.
"You’re right, Aunt, I just want to know now if Gu Yan is doing well?"
From what Mrs. Gu said earlier, he was unwell today. Was he sick again?
She was deeply worried about his health.
"You have no right to care for him, Ye Lu, if you have any conscience, never let Yan see you again. Spare him the pain. I hope that you never appear in front of him again, reminding him of his past hurt."
Ye Lu gave a bitter smile. She could take the accusation, but she had her pride.
She raised her head defiantly, "Mrs.Gu, rest assured, I never intended to appear before him, nor did I ever consider mending old ties. As long as I can avoid it, I will never appear before him."
"Of course, since you’ve now hooked Crown Prince Shang, naturally you won’t bother with Yan. But I warn you, you should keep your promise. Don’t try any tricks to meet Yan again. Otherwise, no matter the cost, I will ruin you."
With those threatening words, Chen Yunfei left.
In the empty bathroom, only Ye Lu was left.
She suddenly felt so weak, sinking down against the wall, burying her head in her knees.
How ironic. Everyone accused her, calling her wayward, heartless, but who understood her pain? She was, indeed, the biggest victim in all this.
Tears of resentment trickled down her cheeks.
Not only had that incident robbed her of her virtue and lover, it had also ruined her life. Who had lost more than her? And who truly cared about her pain and injustice?
For the past seven years, she had laughed during the day, seemingly long having forgotten the pain.
But every night, those unforgettable memories would surface in her mind, even in her dreams, tormenting her.
Without her two children, perhaps she would have already lost her will to live.
Memories from her past flashed through Ye Lu’s mind. She thought of the beginning, the very beginning...
She was sixteen that year and on her high school summer break, getting ready to work and earn money.
When she saw the generous offer the Gu Family was putting up to hire a sensible young girl to look after their wheelchair-bound young master, his reputation was that he as very demanding, and so were the employment conditions.
Seeing the promising remuneration, she was moved. Unable to resist, she signed up.
