My Second Marriage with the Mafia Kingpin-Chapter 60: Do Not Deserve You
The silence in the mansion, deep into the night, was thick — yet many remained wide awake.
Word spread just as quickly as news of Ashley’s supposed escape attempt. With Nolan backing her up and even offering to submit his resignation in the morning, people were torn.
This had never happened before, and no one knew what tomorrow would bring.
As for Lucian, he dismissed the guards outside Ashley’s room and stood before the door for several minutes. He contemplated what to do next, knowing the damage had already been done. And yet, a part of him still wanted to see her... no matter how shameless that sounded.
A moment later, he reached for the knob and quietly pushed the door open.
The instant he did, his gaze fell on the bed where she lay. Her back was facing him, asleep on her side.
He swallowed, his jaw tightening as he stepped inside.
As he approached, his steps slowed when his eyes landed on the chain wrapped around her ankle.
Now that the anger had faded and reality struck him harshly, the sight gripped his heart like nothing else. It was his doing, and yet, he still dared to feel this way.
What had he done?
Lucian reached for the chain and quietly unlocked it, careful not to wake her as he removed it. Then he sat on the edge of the bed, staring at her with conflicted emotions in his eyes.
Sorry...
The word lingered in his mind, but his voice refused to leave his lips.
He raised his hand, reaching toward her hair, but halfway through, he stopped.
In the end, his fingers curled, and he pulled his hand back.
"I..." his voice came out low, the weight in his chest suffocating. "...truly do not deserve you."
Another deep breath escaped him as he pushed himself away from the bed. Without another word, he turned to leave.
But when his hand reached the knob, he paused and looked back at her, sighing heavily.
He held his gaze for a moment longer... before finally stepping out.
The moment he closed the door, he paused again, catching sight of a small figure from the corner of his eye.
When he turned, there Primo stood a few steps away.
The young master’s eyes were red with fury, a plushie clutched tightly in his arms. His breathing was heavy, his anger unmistakable.
Primo marched toward Lucian and began throwing reckless punches at his thigh and stomach. But Lucian didn’t move.
He took every hit, standing still as the child struck him with all his strength. Even when Primo resorted to biting his leg, Lucian remained unmoving.
"Take care of her," Lucian said quietly, resting a hand on his son’s head as the boy bit into him.
When Primo finally let go, Lucian waited for him to look up—eyes blazing—before gently ruffling his hair.
That was all he said.
Then he walked past him.
Primo stood there, grinding his teeth, tears pooling in his eyes before he wiped them away with his sleeve. He bit his lip, then turned and slipped into Ashley’s room.
Climbing onto the bed, he knelt in the empty space beside her.
His gaze fell on the bruises around her ankle.
He wiped his eyes again, pulled the blanket over her, and squeezed the plushie near her as if offering it to her.
I won’t let him touch you again.
He gently tapped her back before turning to sit at the edge of the bed, facing the door.
No one will touch her again.
His eyes burned with determination. Primo sat there, watching the door, ready to fight anyone who dared to enter.
His fever had only just subsided, thanks to the medicine and Betty’s care—care that Ashley had personally ordered.

Gustav returned to Lucian’s office shortly after receiving a call from him.
He already knew that now that the misunderstanding had been cleared, Lucian would be making decisions tonight.
And when Lucian called, Gustav came immediately.
As soon as he stepped inside, he saw Lucian standing by the window, a glass of rum in his hand.
Lucian stared into the distance, deep in thought.
"Master," Gustav called, stopping a few steps from the desk. "What should we do with him?"
Dominion had already taken June. He was ready to be torn apart, but because of Nolan’s intervention, nothing had been done yet. And since all of it was a mere "misunderstanding," the question of what to do with the guy lingered.
"Let him go," Lucian said without hesitation, not even glancing away from the window.
Gustav swallowed, having expected this. "Yes, sir."
"As for Nolan, tell him there’s no need to submit his resignation. I’ll just tear it apart anyway," Lucian continued in the same quiet tone. "Also, tell him to return her phone."
A faint crease formed between Gustav’s brows. "Sir, I understand it was a misunderstanding, but isn’t it a little too soon to give her phone back?"
"Tell him to take her to the garage and let her choose whichever car she wants," Lucian continued, ignoring him. "Let everyone know that if she wants to go somewhere, let her. She’s allowed to leave Dominion, as long as she takes at least one guard for her safety."
"No one is to question what she does or where she goes. Everyone in this place will cater to her every whim without question," he added, his voice still quiet, but firm. "If anyone challenges that, bury them alive... no matter who it is."
Gustav’s breath hitched, his eyes widening.
Those words... were the same ones Lucian had once spoken regarding Primo.
Here, Primo was law.
And everyone walked on eggshells around him because if their service displeased him, their lives would be forfeit.
Thankfully, that line had never been crossed. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Lucian exhaled slowly, tilting his head as if he had finally made up his mind. Then he turned to Gustav.
"Gustav, move up my schedule for the next year into the next six months," Lucian said, walking to the desk and setting his glass down. "And start packing. We’ll be leaving first thing in the morning."
He paused briefly and nodded.
"We won’t be here for a while."
