My Servant System-Chapter 1267 - 1266: Pick A Door (3)
"This is what we found. Comparably, this isn’t as impressive of a list as yours, but for beginner trials that might just help us get a better understanding of what is and isn’t going to happen inside of these instances of time and space it isn’t that bad."
I nodded, looking over the list that Draka handed me and reading through the various noted doors, mentally ranking them in terms of danger that I could only imagine would be equal to what the ’title’ of each door was.
Some were for groups of three that were entirely focused on weathering a natural disaster or dealing with monster hordes, some were for groups of four that wanted us to survive amongst two warring factions, and others were hunts for powerful monsters that would be the reward and the danger all in one package.
They had even listed down a few doors that were for two people or even just a single person, and those doors had the bloodline restrictions or specific mana restrictions that we might be able to make use of later, after we had a grasp for how dangerous these trials were.
There was a lot of information to parse over, and now that we were back outside of the bubble I was willing to take my time figuring out what we should do, though Lilith, Leone and Draka were with me, the four of us becoming the dedicated ’thinkers’ and strategists of this expedition while the others were our muscle.
"The goal should be one of these larger ones to start, but be warned that they likely scale the difficulty to the amount of people testing themselves on that trial. These wars that go on might not be the same kind of wars we are used to, and these monsters are definitely higher level."
"I suppose the trials you undertook on your lonesome were rather challenging? Or at least tricky for someone of your skill level, right?"
Lilith nodded and asked "Do any of these stand out as particularly promising as first excursions? And did anyone see anything out during your search?", looking at Draka and I closely as she waited for an answer.
"Nothing of note, no. No signs of life, no signs of time passing at all, really. Just a still, untouched city with special doors. No scents, sights or sounds that seemed out of the ordinary. I didn’t even feel like there was anything wrong with the area, though that in and of itself might be telling..."
The Dragonkin shrugged, repeating her own experiences for Lilith and I before tapping one of the entries, saying "This one seems promising. It’s for five people, but it’s just a hunt for some kind of feral beast in a forest. The reward seems to be an herb to enhance your mana..? Some kind of herb, anyways." "We could start with that. It just needs five people, and while we should probably start at three or four, this could do us well... The question is, who do we want to take this trial? We have three very strong people - Lilith, Lady Fenyras and Mom - and then us five. Do we only take one of them in, or take two?"

This question was pointed more at Draka and Leone, who both pursed their lips and just stared at the notebooks for a few seconds as they mulled it over; as for me, I looked at Lilith and took in her reaction, my trust for her still not at 100%, something that she seemed to know if that small smirk was anything to go off of.
"Two and three. Lilith and... Aunt Fenyras should be the two of the stronger, and then... Draka, Jahi and I. That would leave Mom Chordeva, Anput and you outside. It’s a good mix of the various elements we have to work with, bloodlines, and strength levels. No offense, Draka, but I don’t know how strong you are exactly, so..."
Leone gave Draka a shrug as she said that, which the Dragonkin just laughed off as she replied "That’s fine. I’d probably lose in a duel to Kat anyways, and overall I’ve spent more time being cozy up north than I have fighting, so this is probably for the best. A chain is only as strong as it’s weakest link and all that, right?"
"Any reason on me being the one to go in? I have to admit I am curious~!"
We all stared at the Demoness for a few moments before Draka answered "If I had to guess it’s because none of us still trust you completely. Sending you in with Lady Fenyras, Leone and Jahi is a good deterrent for any potential funny business, and I have a few tricks for myself as well. If we’re splitting our forces unevenly, you go with the majority so that we could potentially take you down."
"I would say I’m hurt by that, but I understand all too well what makes that a valid line of thinking. Very well; please, continue to scrutinize me. We’ll need the trust if any of these trials end up being too difficult. Now, we should also begin discussing how we’re going to go about alternating these groups and how we want to rest and recuperate?"
Another long discussion began, but this time we were focused more on what to do outside of the bubble than in the trials; whoever was going into the trials would be under - presumably - that quickened flow of time, so if we set up outside of the bubble as the ’rest’ group we wouldn’t have a lot of time to rest.
But we also didn’t know for certain if the trials with multiple people had different time flows than the bubble itself, and if they did we had no idea what that flow was, so how could we plan around it?
That was what took us to what we did know; Leone could brew potions, but we just needed some more herbs to be able to do so, and thankfully we were able to grow them quickly with magic if need be.
It wasn’t the best for our bodies, but it was better than nothing, so if we had to rely on potions to keep us going, that was what we were going to be doing going forwards; health, stamina and mana potions were going to become a part of our diets, but there was also the option to just continue resting as we needed outside of the bubble without a care for how much time was passing.
There was a lot to do, but we had decided on a door and had decided on what we were going to do afterwards; all that was needed now was to inform the others and get ready to implement that plan.
