My Seven Wives in One Body and Me, her Manager-Chapter 23: Rising Storm
After returning to the infirmary and handing the pads over to Nicole, Dennis was asked by Nicole to go back to class and let Daisy sleep. Dennis headed straight to his classroom, walked inside, and sat in his chair. Jason, seeing Dennis arrive, immediately approached him.
"Finally made it, bro," Jason said, sitting in the empty chair in front of Dennis.
"Yeah, I had to drop Daisy off at the infirmary first," Dennis replied.
"Oh? What’s up with Daisy?" Jason asked.
"Nothing major, she’s just short on sleep. Let her get some rest first," Dennis answered.
"Hmm, makes sense. You probably went too hard on her, huh," Jason muttered, patting Dennis on the shoulder.
"What do you mean by that?" Dennis asked.
"Nothing, nothing," Jason answered with a wide grin, without explaining himself.
While the two were chatting casually, someone suddenly sat down next to Dennis. She immediately leaned against Dennis’s shoulder, making him flinch.
"What do you want?" Dennis asked.
"Whoa... what are you doing here, Bella?" Jason asked.
"Shut it, I have no business with you, Jason. I want to talk to him in private," Bella answered, pointing at Dennis while intentionally leaning in closer.
Dennis shifted away to avoid Bella, but she moved even closer. Finally, Dennis stood up and looked at her.
"There is nothing left to discuss. Please move," Dennis said shortly, his voice calm and deep.
"I’m not moving. Not until we talk. Get rid of him, we need to talk privately, just the two of us," Bella said, pointing at Jason’s face.
Seeing Bella’s face, which looked serious and suggested she wasn’t going to leave without speaking to him, Dennis glanced at Jason, then turned his gaze back to Bella.
"Just talk here. Five minutes," Dennis replied firmly.
Bella stared at Dennis, who seemed completely indifferent, looking at her without a single trace of any lingering feelings. she kept searching his eyes for a breakthrough, but Dennis gave her nothing, maintaining a flat and cold expression. Finally, she stood up and let out a sigh, then looked at Dennis with a serious gaze.
"I’m going to tell you both this since Jason is also part of the new school core team... my husband, Brad, is currently with his team talking to Mr. Steve. They want to invite you to a sparring match... though actually, he and his team intend to crush you all ever since that incident at the mall yesterday," Bella said, shrugging her shoulders.
Hearing Bella’s words, Dennis went silent. He carefully studied Bella’s serious face while Jason turned to look at Dennis and then back to Bella, waiting for an explanation since he didn’t know anything. Dennis, staring at Bella, thought hard about why she was telling him what her husband planned to do. He wondered if Bella had a hidden motive.
"Why are you telling me this? Why aren’t you taking your husband’s side?" Dennis asked with a flat expression.
"Hmm... why, indeed? Maybe because my eyes are finally open. I want my childhood friend and the person I’ve loved all this time to win. I’m fed up with my husband," Bella answered casually.
"Huh... what do you mean, Bel?" Jason asked, standing up.
"You stay out of this. Basically, you have to wreck my husband, Den. If you have to, just kill him, okay?" Bella replied while smiling and touching Dennis’s shoulder.
Slowly, Dennis brushed Bella’s hand off his shoulder, then took a step back. Bella intentionally moved forward and leaned over, showing off her deep cleavage to Dennis with a seductive look.
"I know you still want me. Even if I’m not popular, compared to Daisy, I’m still prettier and sexier than her, right, Den?" Bella said teasingly.
Dennis went quiet, but he shook his head as Bella’s attitude from when he was a kid started rushing back into his mind. Even when he had been hit by a watermelon, Bella hadn’t helped him at all; instead, she had hit his head, and he remembered her calling him her slave and her safety net. Every bit of sympathy and whatever feelings Dennis had left for Bella suddenly evaporated, disappearing completely.
"You should probably just leave. I’m happy now and you’re nobody to me. There’s no need to bring up the past ever again," Dennis said casually, calm but firm, as he sat back down with his back to Bella.
Hearing Dennis’s words, Bella’s face looked slightly wounded. She gritted her teeth and immediately turned to walk out of the classroom. Jason, watching her go, shook his head. He sat back down in front of Dennis and looked at him seriously.
"Dude, what actually happened at the mall yesterday?" Jason asked curiously.
Dennis explained everything—how he met the group from the school’s core team that they were about to replace, and how he and Daisy had sent three of them flying out of the store, including Brad. Jason listened intently and nodded, then took out his smartphone to type a message to their group. Not long after, messages started coming in. Dennis opened his phone to see Jason explaining everything in the chat; the replies from Gary, Olivia, and Kimberly were all thumbs-up emojis and "ready to respond" icons. Dennis looked at Jason, who was nodding and smiling back at him.
Then, "blugh," someone suddenly bumped into Dennis. He turned to see that Daisy had already woken up, and her face looked absolutely furious. Dennis glanced at Daisy number two’s hand, which was holding a smartphone with the messages open. It seemed she had already read them too.
"Fine. If they really want to play games with us, I’ll be happy to serve them," Daisy number two said.
"Take it easy. Remember, they’re no match for us," Dennis said, trying to lower Daisy number two’s emotional state to prevent something disastrous from happening.
"Exactly. Because they’re no match for us, we should wipe them out down to the roots, right Daisy?" Jason chimed in.
"Yep... that’s right," Daisy number two said enthusiastically.
"Hey... don’t butt in, bro," Dennis said to Jason.
Dennis knew exactly what would happen if all six entities with 9999 power levels came out and hit Brad and his team; there definitely wouldn’t be anything left of them. It was also impossible for Dennis to tell Gary, Olivia, Jason, and Kimberly who Daisy really was or the power she held inside. Dennis thought hard, trying to avoid the worst-case scenario that was bound to happen seeing Daisy’s face turning red like that. After a few moments, Dennis finally stood up, causing Daisy and Jason to stop talking and look at him.
"I’m going to the restroom for a second," Dennis said.
"Okay bro," Jason replied.
"Hurry back, okay? Otherwise, I’ll have to head to my own class soon," Daisy replied.
"Yeah, just a second," Dennis replied.
Dennis walked out of his classroom, but he didn’t head for the men’s room in the hallway; instead, he headed up the stairs toward the third floor. As he walked, he opened his status screen to check his own power. Feeling confident in his abilities, he closed the status interface again.
"I’ll handle them myself. I think I’m strong enough," Dennis muttered to himself.
After that, he continued climbing the stairs toward the 12th-grade classrooms on the third floor. Once he reached the top, he looked for the room where Brad was, since he knew the location. When he arrived, he threw the door open with force. Inside, Ivan, Brad, Sasha, Hyunjin, Minji, and Akira immediately turned to see Dennis standing in the doorway, glaring sharply at them. Not only that, all the energy surged out of his body, turning the previously rowdy senior classroom into instant silence.
Seeing this, Ivan, Brad, Sasha, Hyunjin, Minji, and Akira naturally stood up and walked to the door to meet Dennis. Ivan stood in front of him.
"What is this?" Ivan asked, on guard because he saw Dennis’s flat, calm face radiating an aura ready to crush them.
"What the hell do you want here?" Brad asked rudely.
"Please withdraw the invitation for a sparring match between the current core team and the new one. Now. I don’t want anything happening during that fight," Dennis answered firmly.
"Huh," Ivan, Brad, Sasha, Hyunjin, Minji, and Akira muttered in unison, looking at one another. Then Ivan turned back to Dennis with a confused look.
"Hmm... how do you know? We were just planning to talk to Mr. Steve today," Ivan said.
"Yeah, I was planning to see him during lunch break," Akira added.
"Fine then. Cancel it. If you want to push it, I’ll take on all six of you by myself," Dennis said firmly and calmly.
Ivan, Brad, Sasha, Hyunjin, Minji, and Akira immediately fell into a dead silence, but they didn’t back down. Instead, they retaliated by releasing their own energies, making the classroom atmosphere feel suffocating as they stared back at Dennis, who was clearly challenging all six of them. All of their classmates stood up at once and glared at Dennis with various expressions; some even gripped their weapons, ready to attack.
