My Seven Wives in One Body and Me, her Manager-Chapter 96: Heart to Heart Talk
Since the next day was the weekend, Dennis and Daisy went out for a stroll at the mall to watch a movie together at the cinema, spending some quality time as a couple after making up. Even so, Dennis was still struggling to accept the truth about himself. Every now and then, he would glance at Daisy beside him, who seemed cheerful and perfectly fine. That feeling of being unworthy of standing next to Daisy—because he was the child of the person who had hurt her—and the guilt he felt, even though he knew perfectly well he couldn’t choose his parents, resurfaced and unsettled him.
But on the other hand, he also remembered his conversation with Daisy from the night before.
***
Last Night, he had opened the interface last night to speak with all the Daisies in the council room as if he were sitting among them, except for Number One, who was already asleep, exhausted after being intimate several times until she was satisfied.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t consider your feelings and ended up slapping you just to snap you out of it," Number Seven said.
"It’s okay, but... you all already know, right? That I’m that man’s son—and you even found out from my father, William," Dennis said, getting straight to the point.
The Daisies in the council room immediately turned to look at one another because they actually hadn’t wanted to let him know they were aware of the situation; they simply wanted to accept him and let him find out from his own adoptive father. Finally, Number Seven stood up and stared at Dennis through the interface on the table right in front of Number One’s chair, filling in for the primary Daisy.
"Dear, I am so sorry once again. I slapped you and went into the bedroom because I wanted to hide the fact that I already knew everything. I didn’t want you to see my calm, indifferent face while you were a mess. Actually, Number One and all of us wanted you to hear it all from Papa; we felt we had no right to say it," Number Seven explained.
"I see. I understand what you were trying to do. But... when you all met Papa and he told you everything, why did you still want to marry me? Did you think you wanted to get revenge on that man by hurting me?" Dennis asked directly.
Numbers Two through Seven, who had sat back down, went completely silent. They all lowered their heads, staring at the table as if searching for an answer there. Dennis didn’t want to push, but their silence made him realize the true reason why Daisy—who already knew he was the son of the criminal who had harmed her, killed her older sister, and nearly finished off her and her mother—stayed. Besides that,
Dennis also remembered meeting Daisy’s mother during the matchmaking process a year and a half ago; she hadn’t said anything and left the decision to her daughter, even though he could see her face wasn’t exactly happy. Then Dennis looked at the six Daisies in front of him, who all seemed to be looking down in their various forms.
"Just be honest... it’s okay," Dennis said slowly, resigning himself to whatever came next.
"Alright. At first... yeah. Maybe Number One didn’t know, but I definitely had every intention of destroying you... but when I investigated you and saw that you were already broken from the start—plus the fact that you didn’t actually hurt us and, at most, only annoyed us because you were so insecure and lacked the self-respect or courage of a real man—I dropped the idea. I accepted you, just like Number One said, because you aren’t your biological father," Number Two said.
"I had no intention of seeking revenge, but I was ready just in case you turned out to be exactly like your biological father," Number Three added briefly.
"Can I be honest? I actually wanted to torture you and put you on display at your lowest point for everyone to see... just like that man did to me. But like Number One, Number Two, and Number Seven, I watched you too, and I decided you aren’t your biological father. So I stayed quiet... and over time, I actually ended up falling for you," Number Four added.
"I didn’t feel much of anything... but I did tell Number One and the others to reject the arrangement with you... then, like Number Three, I just observed and stayed ready in case you became like your biological father. But you turned out to be... just like us, based on what I read in Number Two’s investigation. It was especially clear after your dream last night... eventually, I fell in love with you too, Hon," Number Five said.
"Aaah... honestly, I hate saying this, but I really held a grudge against your biological father. At first, I planned to kill you and just turn us all into widows. But... Number One stopped me, I read Number Two’s investigation, and Number Five kept lecturing me. So, I stayed quiet and watched you... it turns out you weren’t what I expected. I actually fell in love with you even though you were fat and cross-eyed, but I refused to come out because I was annoyed seeing you pout and complain like a little girl," Number Six said curtly.
"That’s how it is. From the start, I saw you through my own vision; your heart is pure, and you’ve been through things in your life too. Even though back then I didn’t know exactly what you’d been through, I accepted and loved you from the beginning—just like Number One—because I share feelings with her," Number Seven added.
Hearing what Daisy Numbers Two through Seven said one by one, Dennis went silent, unable to find the words. His heart calmed down a bit, but that feeling of unworthiness and guilt still lingered. Then, he asked a question.
"So... you all still want to be with me right now... even after seeing my dream and confirming that everything Papa told you is true?" Dennis asked slowly, bracing himself for the possibility that the six Daisies in front of him would ask for a separation. But their answer surprised him.
"Of course, we love you and never want to be apart from you," Numbers Two through Seven said in unison, standing up with tears soaking all of their faces without exception. There was also a look of regret on their faces, perhaps because some of them had talked about doing something to Dennis or because they had slapped him.
Dennis observed each of their expressions one by one through the interface screen, which panned from left to right to show them all. He realized they genuinely did not want to lose him; they even seemed a little afraid that he might no longer want to be with the six Daisies plus the sleeping primary Daisy.
Dennis turned to look at Daisy Number One sleeping soundly beside him, with tears still dampening her eyes because the six Daisies inside her were crying. He rolled over so the interface followed his movement, then hugged the Daisy beside him.
"I don’t want to leave you... forgive me for being confused just now and hurting you all instead," Dennis said through telepathy while looking at the screen.
"It’s okay, my husband, love, sugar, hon, baby, dear—we will always be together, forever," said Daisy Number Two through Number Seven, who appeared to be smiling with relief on the interface screen with tears streaming down their faces, each calling Dennis by their own specific pet name.

Back in the present, Dennis watched Daisy, who was cheerful and relaxed as if she didn’t have a care in the world—clearly having moved past the drama from the night before. She walked beside him, clutching his arm, and he suddenly smiled. He let go of Daisy’s hand, then draped his arm around her, pulling her close until Daisy looked up at his face.
"Thank you, honey," Dennis said, smiling down at her.
"Sure thing, honey," Daisy replied, smiling back, even though she looked a little confused.
They resumed their casual stroll through the mall, and Dennis felt calm again. However, he didn’t forget who his biological father was, and if he ever met him, he was ready to fight him. Not only had that man hurt Daisy, but he had also discarded Dennis and his biological mother, whose whereabouts were currently unknown. He was also determined to meet the people he once believed were his biological parents to demand an explanation—and at the very least, find out who and where his real mother was.
After they passed a cafe, strolling casually and discussing various things—anything except the origins and darkness clouding their pasts—suddenly a "clink" was heard as the cafe door behind them opened.
"Dennis,"
Dennis and Daisy immediately stopped and turned around upon hearing a girl’s voice behind them. But as they fully turned, their faces grew tense until their jaws visibly tightened, their eyes narrowing as they glared at the person in front of them. It was none other than Bella, who had apparently just stepped out of the cafe after spotting the two of them walking past from inside.
