My SSS-Rank Gluttony Talent: I Can Evolve Limitlessly-Chapter 38: No honour
Chapter 38: No honour
Crack-crack!
Riley rolled his shoulders and cracked his knuckles one by one, each pop echoing through the silent clearing.
His gaze drifted to the tabs floating above the orc king’s head, and a wide, sinister smirk spread across his lips.
[Greater Boss: Red Orc King]
[Level: 20]
[HP: 2143 / 3000]
Riley scoffed as he stared at the numbers.
"Still that much left?" he muttered. "Let’s chip that health away."
He took a single step forward and raised his voice, shouting across the silent field.
"Come on, Kraghur! Attack me! What are you waiting for?"
He spread his arms open, completely exposed, his voice brimming with arrogance.
The orc king’s body trembled.
His massive frame—which had once towered over Riley with absolute confidence—now shook with fear.
A moment ago, he would have charged in without much thought. But now... now he hesitated.
The idea of running flashed through Kraghur’s mind.
But Riley didn’t give him that chance.
Swoosh!
In the blink of an eye, he vanished from where he stood and reappeared right in front of the king.
Kraghur’s remaining eye widened in shock, but it was already too late.
WHAM!
Riley’s fist smashed into his abdomen, tearing through the cracked armor like paper.
His knuckles sunk deep into the orc king’s abdomen, easily breaking through his muscles and thick skin, the force slamming into his organs.
—651.3![Critical Hit!]
Blood erupted from the orc’s mouth, spraying across Riley’s chest as his back arched violently from the impact.
His feet lifted from the ground, body ready to go flying from the force—
But Riley didn’t let him.
He grabbed the orc’s shoulder with his free hand, slamming him back down with crushing weight.
"You’re not going anywhere," Riley whispered coldly.
And then—
BAM!
One more fist slammed into its jaw, instantly slacking it to the side.
THWACK!
Riley didn’t relent, instantly following up with another one to its chest.
—651.3![Critical Hit!]
—651.3! [Critical Hit!]
The sound of Riley’s fists tearing through the orc’s flesh echoed across the field, instilling fear in the fragile orcs who were watching.
They could only watch, some even tearing up as their king was getting utterly demolished in front of them.
And then, without warning, Riley pulled back.
The final punch left a deep dent in the orc’s chestplate, and his body sagged under the weight of damage.
He didn’t even stumble back this time—he simply slumped in place, teetering like a puppet with its strings cut.
Kraghur’s armor was shattered and fractured, with jagged plates falling off like dried bark from a dead tree.
Cracks spiderwebbed across the remaining metal, revealing blistered flesh underneath.
One of his tusks had broken clean off, the stump oozing blood, while the other dangled at an awkward angle.
His eyes were swollen shut, his mouth constantly dripping blood.
The orc king—once majestic and terrifying—could barely stay on his feet.
Riley tilted his head, letting out a low chuckle.
"Man," he muttered, flexing his fists. "Charge is such a good skill."
He glanced down at his hands, bruised but pulsing with strength.
"With my current attributes... even just my fists can do more than weapons."
He couldn’t deny he felt a strange thrill at the realisation of how powerful he had gotten, within only a few hours of playing the game.
As someone who was used to struggling and suffering to even level up, this new transformation filled him with ecstasy.
Riley’s gaze shifted to above the orc king’s head, and a low chuckled escaped his lips.
[Greater Boss: Red Orc King]
[Level: 20]
[HP: 189 / 3000]
"One more is all it’s going to take." he muttered, pulling a fist back.
And then, he swung one final punch towards the orc king’s skull, aiming to end the fight with the attack.
WHOOSH!
But then, he suddenly heard a rush of wind behind him.
Riley’s instincts screamed.
A massive orc knight had appeared out of nowhere, its blade slicing through the air toward Riley’s exposed back.
His eyes widened in shock, but his body moved faster than thought.
He spun around mid-strike, twisting just enough to knock the descending sword off-course with a sharp slap of his hand.
CLANG!
The knight’s grip faltered, and in the same fluid motion, Riley’s fist slammed forward, burying itself into the orc knight’s chest with bone-crushing force.
—542.8!
A notification flashed about the monster, and the knight’s body was launched through the air like a missile, crashing into the far trees.
But there was no time for Riley to relent.
From the other side, another orc knight charged in, blade sweeping low and fast in a wide horizontal arc.
SHING!
Riley ducked low, just inches under the weapon. The air above his head sliced apart from the force of the swing.
And then—
He lashed out.
A sharp thrust of his palm shot forward, and from his hand, a thin brown spike erupted, shooting toward the orc’s face.
It penetrated right through its left nostril, embedding itself deep within it.
[—84!] [Critical Hit!]
"Arrgh!!" The orc knight grunted in agony, stumbling as blood sprayed out of its nose.
But Riley wasn’t done.
He followed up instantly with a brutal punch to its chest, crushing the leather plate covering it inward.
Then he immediately followed up with another attack, launching an uppercut towards the orc’s chin.
—651.3! [Critical Hit!]
—651.3! [Critical Hit!]
Two system notifications flashed simultaneously in the air as the knight’s head snapped back with a sickening crack.
The uppercut launched the creature off its feet, sending it crashing several feet back with a groan.
Riley stepped back, breathing lightly, and shook his head.
"Tch," he hissed, his face squeezed into a frown. "I thought orcs were meant to have honor..."
He stared at the two orc knights on the ground, groaning and writhing in agony.
"But I guess I expected too much from monsters."
The two orcs, despite the intense bruises on their body, slowly rose back up on their feet.
Their armor was already damaged from Riley’s punches, and one of them still had a brown spike lodged up its nose, but they still pointed their blades at him.
Roarr!
They roared together and charged with fury, swinging their swords at him.
Riley simply smirked.
He dashed towards them, pulling out his daggers.
