My SSS-Rank Skill and System is too OP in Modern Cultivation world-Chapter 58: A Mysterious Journey
From the distance, a massive stone gate slowly began to rise from the ground. Ancient runes etched into its surface glowed with a golden light.
"The ruin core…" Kent whispered, his eyes widening. "It’s opening!"
The tremors grew more potent, and the air was filled with the sound of grinding stones.
As the gate fully emerged, a blinding light burst forth, enveloping the entire battlefield.
"Whoa!" Kent shouted, shielding his eyes.
The light grew brighter, and Kent felt a strange pulling sensation as if the very air was trying to drag him forward. Kent was sent to a different location.
WHOOSH!
SWIRL!
🐎 Some horses came out from the gate. On top of the horse, there was something sitting. It was very far away. Kent couldn’t see clearly what those things were, so he was sent to a different location.
WHOOSH!
Kent felt like he was being thrown through a whirlpool of light and sound. His stomach churned, and his vision blurred as the world around him spun uncontrollably.
"System!" Kent yelled, his voice barely audible over the roaring wind. "Where the hell am I now?!"
Ding!
System Notification:
The host has entered a Ruin Subzone.
Location: Outer Perimeter - Graveyard Fields.
"Subzone? What does that even mean?!" Kent’s frustration grew, but before the system could respond—
THUD!
He landed flat on his back in a patch of soft grass.
"Ow..." Kent groaned, rubbing his back as he sat up. The first thing he noticed was the eerie silence. No ghouls growling, no wind blowing—just an unnatural stillness that made his skin crawl.
Kent stood up, brushing dirt off his clothes. The fog was thinner here, allowing him to see his surroundings more clearly.
He was in an open field surrounded by jagged rocks and skeletal remains of what looked like ancient soldiers. Their rusted armour and broken weapons were scattered across the landscape, a haunting reminder of the battles that once raged here.
"This place feels… wrong," Kent muttered, shivering.
Ding!
System Notification:
Warning: Spiritual Energy Levels are Highly Concentrated in this Area. Prolonged Exposure May Cause Fatigue or Hallucinations.
"Well, that’s comforting," Kent said sarcastically. "Thanks, system."
As he cautiously moved forward, something shiny caught his eye. A small pile of items was lying near a shattered statue—a mix of broken artifacts, coins, and what looked like… a lunchbox?
"Jackpot!" Kent said, rushing over.
Ding!
Appraisal Activated:
Rusty Coin: Ancient currency. No value for a cultivator.
Cracked Relic Shard: Useless fragment of an artifact.
Lunchbox (Sealed): Contains edible contents.
Kent’s stomach growled. "Edible, huh? Don’t mind if I do." This must be from one of the students. How did it get here? Whatever…
He pried open the lunchbox, revealing a neatly packed sandwich. It smelled surprisingly fresh, but just as he was about to take a bite—!
ROAR!
[Ding!
Wild boar: Level-E]
A giant, mutated boar burst through the nearby underbrush, its tusks glowing faintly with spiritual energy. Its red eyes locked onto Kent, and it pawed the ground, preparing to charge.
"Oh, come on!" Kent groaned, tossing the sandwich aside. "Can’t a guy eat in peace?!"
The boar charged, its massive body shaking the ground with each step.
🐷 "Alright, piggy, let’s see what you’ve got!" Kent shouted, summoning his fire aura. Flames erupted around his fists, and he dashed toward the boar using Flashing Step.
WHOOSH!

Kent appeared behind the boar instantly, leaving a trail of dust and embers in his wake.
"Missed me!" he taunted, slamming his fist into the boar’s side.
BOOM!
The impact sent the boar skidding across the ground, but it quickly got back up, snarling in rage.

"Oh, you’re tougher than you look," Kent said, cracking his knuckles. "This might be fun." This wild boar has intelligence.
The boar charged again, this time faster and more ferocious. Kent dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding its tusks.
He countered with a fire-infused uppercut, aiming for the boar’s jaw.
CRACK!
The Boar howled in pain, stumbling backwards.

"Had enough?" Kent smirked.
But instead of retreating, the boar’s body began to glow. Its spiritual energy surged, and its muscles bulged unnaturally.
"Oh, crap," Kent muttered. "It’s powering up!"
The boar let out a deafening roar before charging again. Its speed and strength now doubled.
Kent activated Flashing Step again, narrowly dodging the attack.
WHOOSH!
CRASH!
The Boar slammed into a boulder, shattering it into pieces.
"Okay, time to finish this," Kent said, summoning all his fire aura. Flames swirled around him, forming a fiery vortex.
With a mighty leap, he launched himself toward the boar, delivering a devastating punch to its head.
BOOM!
The boar collapsed to the ground, its body smoking from the impact.

Kent landed gracefully, wiping sweat from his brow. "That’s what you get for interrupting my meal."
After catching his breath, Kent continued exploring the area. As he climbed over a hill, he froze at the sight before him.
In the middle of the desolate ruins was a small, lush farm. Rows of vibrant vegetables grew in neatly organized patches, and a tiny wooden hut sat in the centre.
"What the…?" Kent whispered, rubbing his eyes. "Am I hallucinating?"
He cautiously approached the farm, his eyes scanning for traps or hidden dangers.
The air around the farm felt different—calmer, almost peaceful. It was a stark contrast to the rest of the ruins.
As he reached the edge of the farm, his stomach growled again.
"Well, if this is a hallucination, at least it smells good," Kent said, sniffing the air.
The vegetables looked ripe and fresh—carrots, cabbages, tomatoes, and even some unfamiliar ones.
🌱 "Wait, is that…a vegetable field?" Kent froze, blinking in disbelief. These aren’t my hallucinations. There is actually a farm inside the ruins.
Amid the destruction, a lush patch of green thrived. Rows of tomatoes, peppers, and cabbages grew tall and proud as if they’d decided to rebel against the battlefield’s gloom. At the edge of the field stood a crooked hut, its walls sagging like an old man hunched over with age.
