My SSS-Rank Skill and System is too OP in Modern Cultivation world-Chapter 60: A Ghoul Problem and saving some students.
----
After leaving the farm with his backpack full of spiritual vegetables, Kent wandered deeper into the eerie expanse of the ancient battlefield ruins.
His steps were steady, but his mind wandered. The weight of the ruin’s foreboding atmosphere didn’t faze him as much as the occasional crunch of bones beneath his feet.
"I can’t believe I wasted all that time on vegetables," Kent muttered, shaking his head. "Where are the treasures? The artifacts? Ancient weapons? This place is supposed to be filled with stuff like that!"
He kicked a broken spearhead lying in the dirt. It flew forward with a clang, bouncing off a rock.
"Useless," Kent grumbled, stuffing his hands into his pockets.
Suddenly, a distant scream pierced the air.
"AAAAAAAHHHHH!"
Kent froze, tilting his head like a curious bird. "What was that? A scream? Oh boy, someone’s in trouble."
A wicked grin spread across his face. "Which means… SP farming time!"
Following the sound, Kent crept through the fog until he stumbled upon a clearing. The sight before him was straight out of a nightmare.
A swarm of ghouls cornered a group of students. The creatures were grotesque, their decaying bodies radiating a faint spiritual energy. Their glowing eyes burned with a primal hunger as they lunged at the terrified students.
"Help us!" one of the students screamed, swinging a rusty sword at a ghoul. His shaky hands barely kept the monster at bay.
Another student tripped and fell, crawling backwards as a ghoul loomed over him. "No! Stay back!"
Kent leaned against a tree, observing the chaos. "Man, this is bad. For them, I mean. For me? This is prime SP farming real estate."
Just as a ghoul pounced toward a fallen student, Kent dashed into the fray, activating Flashing Step.

WHOOSH!
In an instant, he appeared between the ghoul and its victim.
"Bad ghoul!" Kent said, smirking as he delivered a fiery uppercut.
BOOM!
The ghoul’s head exploded into ashes, its body crumbling to the ground.

The students stared at him wide-eyed.
"Who are you?!" one of them asked.
"Me?" Kent said, tossing his hair dramatically.
"Just your friendly neighborhood cultivator. Now, get behind me before you become ghoul chow."

The students scrambled to their feet, huddling behind Kent as more ghouls surrounded them.
The ghouls snarled, their glowing eyes narrowing as they lunged at Kent.
"Alright, ugly. Let’s dance," Kent said, summoning his hellfire. Black Flames erupted around his fists, crackling with intensity.
He dodged one ghoul’s attack, countering with a fiery punch that sent it flying into a tree.
THWACK!
The tree cracked under the impact, and the ghoul disintegrated into ashes.
Another ghoul charged at him from behind, but Kent spun around, delivering a blazing roundhouse kick.
WHOOSH! BOOM!
The kick not only destroyed the ghoul but left a trail of flames in its wake.
"Two down, eight to go," Kent muttered, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

One of the students, a short, chubby boy, was still swinging his sword wildly, even though there were no ghouls near him.
"Dude," Kent called out, dodging a ghoul’s claw. "Who are you fighting? The air?"
The boy froze, looking embarrassed. "I-I was just warming up!"
Ding! +300 SP Copied from Student (Embarrassment).
Kent chuckled, delivering a flaming punch to another ghoul. "Well, your warm-up needs work."
As he fought, another student tripped over a rock and accidentally threw his weapon into the bushes.
"Hey!" the student yelled. "My sword!"
Kent burst out laughing, grabbing the fallen student by the collar and pulling him to his feet. "Forget the sword, buddy. Just stay alive!"

The remaining ghouls growled, their movements becoming more erratic as Kent systematically tore through their ranks.
One particularly large ghoul, its body covered in cracked armour, roared and charged at Kent.
"Oh, you’re a big boy," Kent said, cracking his knuckles. "Let’s see what you’ve got."
The armoured ghoul swung a massive claw at him, but Kent ducked, countering with a fiery uppercut that sent the ghoul staggering.
Before it could recover, Kent activated Flashing Step, appearing behind it in an instant.
WHOOSH!
With a powerful kick to the back, he sent the ghoul crashing into a group of its smaller allies.
BOOM!
The impact created a fiery explosion, reducing the ghouls to ashes.
Ding! +2,000 SP Copied from Students (Awe and Relief).
As the last of the ghouls fell, the students erupted into cheers.
"You saved us!" one of them said, tears streaming down his face.
Kent brushed off his clothes, smirking. "All in a day’s work. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got treasures to find."
"Wait!" another student called. "You’re leaving us?"
"Yup," Kent said, walking away. "You’ll be fine. Just stick together and don’t do anything stupid."
Ding! +750 SP Copied from Students (Gratitude).
As Kent walked away, he realized something.
"Wait a minute," he muttered, looking at his SP balance. "I earned more SP from these kids than from killing the ghouls."
[SP Balance: 967,510 SP]
He stopped, tapping his chin thoughtfully. "Maybe I should hang around them a bit longer. You know, to ’help’ them."
A mischievous grin spread across his face. "SP farming never ends."
With that, Kent continued his journey, leaving behind a group of students who would likely remember him as both their saviour and the strangest cultivator they’d ever met.
+999 SP from number 788. (Anger)
But one guy looked very angry. He planned to lure the students into Ghouls and kill them all. But Kent suddenly came and put his plan to waste.
"Because of you, my mission failed. I won’t let it go so easily. First, I will deal with you."
He started to follow Kent. He wants to kill Kent first. Then he will kill as many students as possible before his other team members collect the core.
