My stepsisters are sexy demons, and I must protect them-Chapter 93: The Elemental Queen
Chapter 93: The Elemental Queen
«It’s been months since I had this much fun,» Chantal murmurs.
A thrill sparks across her lips as her Sacred Flame and flaming sword fade away.
Her blue eyes glow with a deep blood-red hue.
«That’s why, from now... I’m getting serious!»
Elisabeth’s confident expression disappears instantly as a crimson storm begins swirling around Chantal, shattering the ground beneath her feet.
A gash opens on Chantal’s hand, and the blood that pours out solidifies into a massive greatsword.
«Y-You’re... a vampire...? That’s insane! How can someone with the Sacred Flame also possess vampire Sanguis energy?!» Elisabeth stammers, stepping back on shaky legs.
Chantal aims the tip of her sword at her with both hands.
«Guess it’s time you pick up that dumb Earth History textbook again, little brat!»
Once more, Chantal charges at her—faster, stronger, and far more relentless than before.
«Don’t think something like that’s gonna impress me... Elemental Invocation • Earth: Rock Wall!»
Again, a massive stone wall rises between them, but this time Chantal doesn’t slow down at all.
She smashes through the rock wall like it’s made of foam—nothing stands between Chantal and her target now.
Elisabeth grits her teeth and clenches her fists.
«Damn it... fine! I guess I’ll get serious too! Elemental Invocation • Earth/Fire: Magma Wall!»
A new wall rises—this time not of plain stone, but of thick, glowing lava, far more durable than before.
«A combo of Elemental Invocations, huh... the surprises never end...» Chantal mutters, finally forced to stop and even step back. «Still, from someone who can wield all four elements, I expected nothing less... they must have trained you well at the Lumindor Magic Academy. My compliments to your professors.»
Elisabeth shrugs.
«Yeah, too bad I had to leave the academy and flee from N’Raeth just before the end of my first year.»
«A real waste of talent, honestly,» Chantal replies with almost sincere regret. «Sure, your spell list is broad, but it’s all basic stuff. A fully trained elemental mage your age should be casting much stronger spells, and without even needing to say them aloud.
That said, I’m afraid your skills, while unique, aren’t nearly enough to defeat someone at my level. I’m satisfied, so let’s end this here—with my victory.»
Elisabeth smirks.
«Just admit you know you can’t win and now you’re trying to save face. Am I right? Let’s do this instead—you admit defeat and we’re done!»
«You should talk less and save your breath. You can barely stand from how exhausted you are. Using combined Elemental Invocations drains a lot of energy, doesn’t it?
It’s written all over your face—you couldn’t cast another even if you tried. Meanwhile, I could keep fighting like this all night,» Chantal smirks. «So, what will you do now?»
In response, Elisabeth raises both her trembling arms toward Chantal.
«I’ll show you who’s too drained to cast a combo spell! And I won’t just throw any spell—I’ll use the most powerful combined Elemental Invocation I’ve got! Open your eyes! You’re about to witness what earned me the nickname Elemental Queen back in Lumindor!»
Chantal sighs, plants her sword into the ground, and raises her arm toward Elisabeth—a new gash opens on her right hand.
A scorching wind starts swirling around Elisabeth, with shards of rock floating and clustering around her hands.
And then...
«Elemental Invocation • Earth/Fire/Wind: Magma Typhoon!»
«A triple-Element Invocation...? This girl is way more interesting than I thought... If her elemental knowledge were more advanced, she might’ve actually been able to give me real trouble,» Chantal murmurs, genuinely surprised.
A searing vortex of lava and wind bursts from Elisabeth’s hands, spiraling with destructive force toward Chantal and scorching the ground.
Chantal glances toward Hakuto—they exchange a quick nod, then...
«Blood Word lv.1: Burst!»
A brilliant crimson beam erupts from the gash on Chantal’s palm, slicing through the air toward the magma vortex.
When the two powerful invocations collide, the triple-element spell is instantly shattered, exploding violently from within.
The blood-colored energy beam cast by Chantal pierces straight through the lava spiral with ease, barely losing any power.
It’s about to strike Elisabeth dead-on—she’s too exhausted to dodge or counter it—when...
–SWISH!
The Blood Word is dispersed at the last moment, canceled out by a slash from Hakuto’s diamond sword, wrapped in the white Sacred Flame.
Elisabeth is blown backward by the shockwave, landing hard on her rear against the rocky ground deep in the Apennines.
When she slowly looks up, she sees him—Hakuto, the son of her hero—clad in armor made of a brilliant, diamond-like material, far stronger than real diamond, holding a massive sword forged from the same.
But now, seeing him like this—so proud and strong, having deflected that powerful attack with a single strike—something stirs inside her.
Her heart races, and a heavy pressure builds in her chest.
Her cheeks flush red, and not just from exhaustion.
Until now, Hakuto was nothing more than the son of her idol—Shin Tendo.
A substitute.
She hadn’t dared to get close to the real Shin, so Hakuto was just a stand-in.
But now, what her eyes see is no longer Shin’s son... but Hakuto Tendo.
She places a hand on her chest, where the signature still shows through her suit—black marker, written two days ago by him on the rooftop of Liceo Aurelio.
A minute ago, she would’ve replaced it without hesitation if she had the chance to get Shin’s instead.
But now?
Now she’s glad the name written on her chest is Hakuto’s.
The diamond armor and sword covering Hakuto dissolve into fine crystalline dust.
«You’re really incredible, Elisabeth! I mean it,» Hakuto says, offering his hand to help her up.
Maybe it’s because he just saved her, or maybe it’s the moonlight outlining his toned figure in a pale silver glow... either way, Elisabeth is frozen the moment Hakuto turns toward her.
But the last thing she wants is to let him notice how flustered she is—she might be from N’Raeth, but she’s still human, nothing like those shameless succubi.
«T-Thank you so much, I’m glad I impressed you...» she murmurs shyly, her hand trembling slightly in Hakuto’s as he helps her up.
«You impressed all of us, not just him,» Chantal says, walking toward them with a surprisingly friendly tone considering their earlier exchange.
«Mastering all four elements, and pulling off a triple-element combo despite having to leave Lumindor Academy so early... you’re truly exceptional. And trust me, I’m not the type to hand out compliments easily.»
«Chantal’s right, I’ve never seen anything like that!» Yuzu adds, bouncing with excitement.
Even Rika joins in with a nod of agreement.
Hakuto smiles faintly as he hears their words.
After all, this had been his plan from the start—to help them become friends.
Rika, Yuzu, Chantal, Kagura, Shin... all of them possess extraordinary powers—abilities beyond human understanding.
But thanks to their numbers, and the fact that they’ve met many others like them—Itsu, Ana, Esmeralda, Velune, Chris, and more—they’ve never truly felt excluded.
Never truly alone.
That hasn’t been true for Elisabeth.
Besides her parents, she has no one to talk to about N’Raeth, about the beings that dwell there, or about magic... no one who lets her be herself.
That’s why Hakuto wanted her to come with them—and now, seeing Chantal, Yuzu, and Rika gathered around her, showering her with questions and praise, he can’t help but feel a deep sense of relief and joy.
«I’m sorry for looking down on you just because your surname isn’t in the Earth History textbook... really. You’re incredibly strong—you countered my triple-Elemental Invocation like it was some basic spell. And I’m sure that wasn’t even close to your full power, right? I could tell... you were holding back so you wouldn’t hurt me. But now I’m really curious... will you show me your full strength? Pleaaaase?» Elisabeth begs.
«Obviously, if I had gone all out, you’d be in pieces by now,» Chantal replies, lifting her chin and puffing her chest with pride.
«I’m not the kind of girl who shows off her strength just for fun, but in your case, I’ll make an exception—since you showed me your best.»
She steps back a few meters, putting some distance between them, and then...
«WOOOOOW! I’ve never seen anything like that! What even is it?!» Elisabeth exclaims, eyes sparkling as pink flames blaze around Chantal.
Chantal’s ego is now completely out of control.
«This is the fusion of the Sacred Flame and Sanguis magic—a power I gained after becoming a vampire eight months ago. The vampire who turned me was convinced our energies would clash and destroy each other, killing me in seconds. Clearly, he had no idea who he was dealing with! Now I can harness all the benefits of both the Sacred Flame and vampire blood. Amazing, right?»
Elisabeth nods frantically, mouth hanging open in disbelief.
Hakuto and Kagura exchange a quick glance and smile.
She was the only one who truly knew Hakuto’s plan, and seeing her daughters gain a new friend—someone from N’Raeth like them—fills her heart with joy.
