My Three Beautiful Vampire Wives can hear my Inner Thoughts-Chapter 128: Heroic Overgod
"Move! All of you, inside!"
Cain’s voice cracked like thunder across the torn landscape as the last of the white cloud ogres collapsed into heaps of steaming flesh. The tear in the air flickered violently before them, the glowing Crack pulsing like a wounded heart barely holding itself open.
One by one, then in desperate clusters, the vampires of the Moonshade family rushed through it.
Ancestors in flickering projections slipped across first, their forms warping as they passed into the dimensional opening. Nobles followed, dragging injured guards. Half nobles clutched trembling blood servants. Blood slaves stumbled, pushed forward by those behind them, eyes wide with fear.
"Faster!" Elder Zenaya shouted from atop the massive owl as it glided through the Crack with heavy egg sacks secured beneath its body. "Do not look back!"
Cornelia gripped Ivira’s wrist tightly as they crossed the threshold. Faith followed close behind, glancing over her shoulder one last time.
Cain stood outside.
He did not move.
The moment the last of the Moonshade family crossed over, he raised one hand and spoke calmly.
"I will close the Dimensional Plane Crack."
The words carried through the rift, and those who had just landed on the other side turned sharply.
"What?"
"Young vampire, wait!"
The landscape on the safe side was calmer, a rocky clearing under a dark sky untouched by the twisted forest. But the opening still hovered between worlds, a thin bridge connecting safety and nightmare.
An elder stepped forward, his robe torn but his voice firm.
"Let me do it! You’ve done enough!"
Another noble added urgently, "You are talented. You are powerful. We cannot let you stay behind alone!"
To them, Cain was Cage Moonshade, an unknown but terrifyingly gifted vampire who had just carved through monsters stronger than dukes. He was an asset, a future pillar of the family.
If monsters attacked him while he closed the Crack, he might die.
And losing a genius like that would be a devastating blow.
"Come through first!" someone shouted. "We will close it together!"
Behind Cain, the twisted forest trembled again.
Dark shapes began emerging between the warped trees.
One.
Ten.
Hundreds.
Creatures of all forms poured forward, drawn to the open dimensional bridge like insects to light.
"Look behind you!" a guard screamed.
The Moonshade family gasped in horror as they saw the mass of monsters charging toward Cain.
"Cage! Get in here!"
"Do not be foolish!"
Several nobles instinctively rushed toward the Crack again, ready to go back and pull him through.
But before they could cross, a translucent blood red barrier rose across the opening.
It shimmered like liquid glass, sealing the passage from their side.
"What?"
"Why can’t I pass?"
They slammed their fists against it, but it held firm.
Cain had cast a shield, preventing anyone from returning.
"Cage!" Elder Zenaya cried out, her voice breaking. "Remove this at once!"
From the other side, Cain called calmly, "I’m fine."
His tone was steady.
Too steady.
The Moonshade family froze.
Is he... sacrificing himself?
The thought struck like lightning.
"He’s staying behind for us!"
"No, no, don’t do this!"
"We will fight together!"
Voices overlapped in panic.
"Cage, come back!"
"We cannot lose you!"
"Open the barrier!"
Faith pressed her palm against the shimmering shield, her breath uneven. "Cain... no... Cage..." she whispered, not even sure which name to call.
Cornelia’s chest rose and fell rapidly. "Why would he..."
Ivira stared at his sisters, confusion flooding her mind. Then he immediately understood who that person was.
No wonder he can call all that.
On the other side, Cain smirked faintly.
In his head, his thoughts were far less noble.
These bastards only care because they think I am talented.
Because I am strong.
Because losing someone like me would hurt their future.
If I were still the weak Cain they mocked, would they shout like this?
Would they beg me to save myself?
His eyes darkened slightly.
Hypocrites.
The ground behind him shook violently.
The monsters charged.
Their roars blended into a single terrifying wave of sound.
Clawed beasts, armored giants, winged horrors with twisted limbs, all rushing toward him with murderous hunger.
Cain slowly rolled his shoulders.
Then something burst from his back.
A thick mass of blood mana extended outward, splitting into multiple long crimson sharp tentacles, each one glistening and heavy like living veins torn from a god’s body.
They whipped through the air with terrifying speed.
The first wave of monsters collided with him—
And were torn apart instantly.
A tentacle pierced through a charging beast and ripped it in half. Another wrapped around a flying creature and crushed it midair, bones snapping audibly before blood rained down.
More tentacles lashed outward, stabbing, slicing, impaling.
It was not graceful.
It was brutal.
It was overwhelming.
The monsters did not stand a chance.
The Moonshade family stood frozen behind the barrier, staring at the scene unfolding before them.
Ancestors flickered wildly, their voices lost in shock.
"What... is that technique?"
"That blood manipulation..."
"It is beyond our understanding."
Nobles swallowed hard. Guards lowered their weapons slowly.
They watched as the octopus like mass of blood moved with terrifying precision, killing dozens in seconds.
Heads rolled.
Bodies exploded.
Limbs flew.
Cain did not even step back.
He stood in place, tentacles doing the slaughtering for him.
"Is he... really from the Moonshade family?" a blood servant whispered faintly.
"No," another replied under his breath. "He is a monster among monsters."
Suddenly, the ground trembled harder.
The number of creatures tripled.
From every direction, more poured in.
Larger.
Faster.
Stronger.
Some carried weapons formed from bone and darkness. Others exhaled toxic mists that corroded the ground.
The Moonshade family felt fear rising again.
"He cannot fight all of them alone!"
"There are too many!"
Cornelia stepped forward, gripping the barrier with both hands.
"Cage! Stop this! Come back!"
Faith’s eyes burned as she stared at him.
Ivira’s lips trembled.
They were all confused.
Why is he doing this?
Especially Cornelia who still remembered yesterday when Cain declared that he will turn the Moonshade family to dust?
Why is he being heroic?
Then, faintly, they heard something.
A voice.
Cain’s voice.
Not shouted.
Murmured.
"Yes... yes, Moonshade family," he whispered to himself as another wave of monsters was crushed by his blood tentacles. "I’ll be your hero."
The three sisters stiffened.
"Once I become your hero," he continued softly, almost amused, "I’ll make my original body be hated."
Their hearts skipped.
"Using this fake heroic person in your head that I created... Cage Moonshade..."
Ivira’s eyes widened.
"I will ask for Marriage and make the Cain they looked down up divorced the three sisters."
Silence fell between the three.
The meaning hit them all at once.
He created this identity.
This unknown powerful vampire.
He was building a legend.
If Cage became the hero who saved the Moonshade family, they would worship him.
Then, when Cage asked for the sisters’ hands in marriage, the family would pressure them to break the bond with the original him, Cain.
The Blood Pact marriage would break.
Without backlash.
It was a perfect plan.
Cornelia’s fingers tightened slightly against the barrier.
Faith felt her breath grow uneven. Then she called down.
Ivira stared at his back, stunned.
So this was his game.
He thought he was clever.
He thought he had outplayed them.
Suddenly, they became relaxed. Since he can handle himself, it should be fine.
On the battlefield, Cain continued slaughtering monsters, believing his victory was assured.
In his mind, he already saw the outcome.
They will praise Cage.
They will despise Cain.
The pact will shatter.
Freedom.
But when he glanced back at the Crack—
He froze.
The three sisters were not crying.
They were not angry.
They were not devastated.
They were smiling.
Cornelia lifted one hand and gave a small wave.
Faith’s lips curved faintly.
Ivira even raised her hand in greeting.
"Huh?" Cain muttered, stunned.
What does that mean?
Why are they smiling?
For a brief second, his focus faltered.
A monster lunged toward him from the side, only to be crushed instantly by a reflexive tentacle.
But his mind was no longer fully on the battle.
Could it be that they know?
Then the crack behind him flickered violently.
Its light dimmed.
The dimensional edges began sealing.
The barrier between worlds grew thinner and thinner.
Cain’s tentacles continued their relentless slaughter as the last sliver of the opening shrank.
He looked at the sisters one last time.
They were still smiling.
Can they read my mind?
The Crack closed completely so was the memory of him finding that his thoughts were exposed to them.
