My Tribrid System: More than a Monster-Chapter 86: Rewards (1)
Chapter 84
Given the helicarrier’s immense speed, it didn’t take more than ten minutes for them to return to the Aspirant Corps.
Which begged the question—why did it take Captain Raze so long to reach their location?
Between the time the others escaped and the duration they spent battling the Aberrant, approximately fifteen to twenty minutes had elapsed.
They still had to wait an additional five minutes outside the gate before he finally arrived.
So, what truly caused the delay?
The question remained unanswered, as the Captain departed the moment he dropped them off.
Besides, what did they care? In the end, they were all safe and sound.
The group was taken to the Corps’ infirmary, but using made-up excuses that he pulled right out of his ass, Ray managed to escape the medical check-up.
Why? His body was already healed of any lingering injuries, so there was no need for an examination as he rushed back to his room.
Dashing into the bathroom, Ray took a long, cold shower for about ten minutes before emerging dressed in a fresh uniform.
He crashed onto his bed with a tired sigh as a wave of exhaustion washed over him.
But sleep eluded him.
Instead, a surge of excitement bubbled up as he turned onto his back, his eyes gazing at the ceiling of his quarters while flashing back to the events that had just occurred today.
The day he had been informed he was a Tribrid, he never expected that his other selves would be such legendary, mythical beings.
A werewolf and a celestial?
Damn. His luck was beyond good.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t the one in control whenever he needed that raw strength to fight, so how was he a real Tribrid? He didn’t truly know.
But at least he had power—genuine strength on his side.
Even though it was currently small on the grand scale of things, he finally possessed the potential he craved.
Now, he didn’t know if he was actually overpowered like those novel characters he read about, but at this rate, he was certainly heading toward greatness.
’Damn... with how long it took for me to awaken my bloodlines and find out what my other selves are; if this was a novel on those online platforms I frequent, tons of readers might have dropped off by now.
What do I care? This is real life, not some sloppy novel written by a lazy-ass author who just wants quick bucks by creating brain-rot content for their audience while leaving diabolical cliffhangers to entice readers to pay for more. Tch!’
He sighed while rubbing his temples, trying to quiet his racing thoughts.
"Sheesh. Will you just shut up for a moment? I’m trying to get some rest after that damned battle you threw me into. But I can’t because you keep yapping inwardly!" Bruce’s annoyed voice suddenly echoed in Ray’s mind, startling him for a brief moment.
"Come on, Bruce. Give the kid a break already," Elyon’s calm voice added, chiming in.
’Honestly, I want to come in there and give you a piece of my mind. But not yet. I need to check the rewards I was given by the system for completing the quests.’
"Whatever. Just let me sleep."
Ray scoffed as he sat upright and then called out for his system.
Translucent blue panels began hovering in front of his face, with different tabs pulsing and waiting for him to click on one to check it out.
"Show me the rewards I gained from the two quests?"
[Rewards for helping win the beast hunt: +200 EXP, +5 INT stat, +1 stat point]
"Uh-huh. Good, good. Next?"
[Rewards for defeating a one-spined Aberrant: +1000 EXP; First time fighting and defeating an Aberrant: +500 EXP; +10 STR, +5 AGI, 2 free stat points, +3 new Bloodline skills, +1 system skill.]

Ray didn’t know how he was supposed to react.
The rewards he had gained from a single battle were so humongous that he felt overwhelmed just by reading through them.
One thousand, seven hundred EXP?
He couldn’t even calculate how many daily quests he would have needed to complete to accumulate that staggering amount.
He was in awe while staring at the system screen, his pulse quickening with anticipation.
With his heart thumping in excitement, he quickly called out:
"Status Screen."

The sheer strength coursing through him at the moment almost made his veins feel as though they might explode from the pressure.
His muscles tightened and corded as the new stat points settled into place, integrating with his physiology.
He kept clenching and unclenching his fists, feeling the raw, unfiltered power flowing from his shoulders down to the very tips of his fingers.
It felt as if he wanted to blast a hole through an awakened beast, he could now do so without a single hitch.
But then, he paused, remembering the day of the initial testing and the scores Kai and Trisha had achieved.
Trisha’s current strength score sat around the 50s, while her agility was approximately 48.
Meanwhile, Kai’s strength was marked at 67 with his agility at 65.
Ray realized he was still a bit far off from eclipsing them.
If he had to rank himself at this very second, he was likely the third strongest of the group.
However, that didn’t truly matter to him.
In due time, he was certain to surpass them, especially considering the fact that his bloodlines were now fully awakened. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
He felt a sudden, manic urge to cackle aloud while clutching his abdomen, but he resisted the impulse, instead settling for a sheepish smile as he continued to stare at his updated stats.
’You know? I thought being a Tribrid would be a curse and I’d look like a monster, but this isn’t half bad. I don’t have to look like a werewolf all the time.’
A few seconds passed in comfortable silence before he waved the screen away, a wide grin flashing across his face.
"Time to check my new skills. Let’s see what this good boy just got. Please let it be something useful, if not completely overpowered," he wished eagerly, his finger hovering over the interface before he clicked on the bloodline skills tab.
[Bloodline Skills]
[Three new skills added]
"Huuuu... here we go." He exhaled sharply, bracing himself for the revelation.
