My Ultimate OP System: Summoning All Dragons, Gods, Heroes & Villains-Chapter 99: The Aftermath
It had been two hours since the students and teachers emerged from the breach zone. π³ππ²ππ¨ππ―πππ§ππΉ.π°πΌπ
After clearing it, the Head of Security for the Ainzbern Reserve had approached both Mr. Kieran and Miss Hana with an offer.
As a gesture of thanks for handling the unexpected breach, his team would help the students set up camp for the evening.
And so, while elven security personnel moved across the designated camping area hauling gear and erecting tents, students from both academies wandered the grounds in pairs or small groups.
Most of them were still talking about what had happened inside the breach.
"Did you know how fast those things move? We killed a few on our side, it wasnβt easy"
"Anna held that shield for way longer than I couldβve."
"Someone said a Belsorth student summoned a Legendary class spirit. Is that even real?"
Ethan was currently seated on a fallen log of wood with his Arcphone in hand, finally able to get cell service again after being cut off inside the breach.
As students walked past his general direction, several of them would glance toward him briefly before leaning in closer to their companions and whispering.
"Yeah, heβs the one."
Another pair walked by from a distance as one of them said. "That guy has a Legendary summon as well?"
His friend responded in the same hushed tone. "I heard it tore through those monsters like paper."
"Wait, so does that mean his summonβs stronger than Danteβs?"
"I donβt know, man. Danteβs killed the boss though."
Even though Ethan could pick up on some of these gossip, he barely paid attention to any of it.
Dante Fitzgerald was the one who had killed the boss of the Worldshift breach. He was Mallory Highβs star student and possessed a Legendary class summon of his own. Apparently, his summon spirit had taken down the zoneβs final enemy in a matter of minutes.
Ethan didnβt care much about comparisons or rankings right now. His focus was entirely on his phone screen as he read through Isabellaβs messages.
Miss Berleneβ€οΈ: Belsorth looks kinda weird without final years around
Miss Berleneβ€οΈ: Okay Miss Roc just entered the class to start lessons for casters... ps: I already learned this at age sixπ
Miss Berleneβ€οΈ: Have to go now. I know camp is for 3 days but come back sooooonnnnn, I miss you alreadyπ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ήβ€οΈ
A small smile spread across Ethanβs face as he typed back:
Me: We arrived here not long ago and got off to an unexpected start... I bet youβd never guess what it was
He hit send just as footsteps approached from his left.
Ethan looked up to see Bettie walking toward him holding two glass cups filled with some kind of juice. She stopped beside him and extended one of the cups in his direction.
"Mr. Kieran is sharing this with everyone," Bettie said.
Ethan nodded and took the glass from her hand. He glanced around briefly and noticed that other Belsorth students nearby also had similar cups in their hands.
This juice wasnβt supposed to be distributed until later in the evening, but Kieran had apparently decided to hand it out early as a way to help ease the stress his students were feeling after everything they had just been through.
Bettie stood beside him for a moment as they both watched the busyness of camp setup happening all around them.
After a pause, Bettie spoke again. "So youβre a high-tiered summoner too..."
Ethan smiled just a bit. "Yeah."
She nodded slowly, still staring out at the camp activity. "Itβs all everyoneβs been talking about."
"Yeah," Ethan said again, not entirely sure what else to add.
Right now, a lot of Ethanβs classmates were questioning how they had never known any of this about him before.
Everyone underwent a talent level verification when they entered Belsorth as first years, and back then Ethan had only been announced as a single-talent awakened: a Caster with B-level talent.
A few students had already started chalking it up to the possibility that maybe, as a Stark, heβd used money to buy the silence of Belsorthβs management so they intentionally didnβt announce him as dual-classed.
Some others assumed he might have awakened a new class recently, although that sounded far less realistic since everyone knew your initial awakening happened between ages one and six.
Whether you were dual or single-classed, youβd know by that age.
Even Mr. Kieran was confused as to how management had only classified Ethan as a Caster during enrollment.
However, he hadnβt been Ethanβs form teacher in first year and hadnβt really been teaching at Belsorth for that long either, so he didnβt think too much about it beyond mild curiosity.
There were lots of whispers and theories circulating among Belsorth students. But in Bettieβs case? She was completely mind-fucked.
Generally speaking, dual-class awakening wasnβt incredibly common but it wasnβt extremely rare either. A few persons had two classes.
But no dual-classed person had both classes at S-level talent.
That was a rarity, something only ever spoken of in stories or recorded in history among legendary figures from centuries past.
For most people, the only example they knew was the story of Mikael.
Because usually, if someone had dual classes, one of them would be significantly higher than the other. The stronger one was called the Main Class while the weaker one was referred to as a Sub Class.
Now although everyone in their year was shocked at Ethanβs display of S-tier Summoner talent today, they all still assumed his Caster talent remained at B-level like it had been recorded during enrollment.
That assumption made sense within normal reasoning and kept things believable.
But Bettie knew things differently. She knew he was S-level in Caster talent because she had been tutoring him for several days now and had seen firsthand just how insanely fast he picked up spells that shouldβve taken much more time to learn properly.
And now discovering he was also S-level in Summoner talent made her question just how lucky one person could possibly get with their awakening results.
Even though her curious mind had dozens of questions, she held herself back from prying into things that werenβt her business to ask about.
There was silence between them for a while as they sipped their juice and watched camp activity continue around them.
Finally, Ethan broke the quiet by asking something unexpected:
"Hey Elizabeth," he began casually, "I know youβve always wanted to be a tutor... but have you ever considered being part of a guild after all of this?"
Bettie turned toward him briefly with a surprised expression before answering honestly:
"I did think about it one time," she admitted with a slight shrug, "but fighting monsters like that... I donβt know, itβs never really been my thing if Iβm being honest."
"I see," Ethan said simply without pushing further on that point. "I understand."
"Why do you ask?" Bettie asked curiously.
Ethan set his cup down on the log beside him and turned toward her more directly.
"I have a guild under construction," he explained, "and I must admit... youβre knowledgeable about things not a lot of people know about." He paused for emphasis before adding: "So I want those brains of yours around."
Bettieβs eyes widened slightly at the compliment before a smile spread across her face.
